Wow never really considered how difficult a blood baron would be for us to deal with lol. Only things that come to mind as dealing with him would be stuff like Setessan Tactics, Ulvenwald Tracker, Beast Within, ect... in short, suboptimal green removal.
Thats really awkward, I am suddenly much happier modern hardly ever sees that card since its so bad vs goyf
EDIT: And now that I think about it those (With the exception of beast within) don't even work unless the creature fighting is green as well...So scooze/Thrun or bust which is terrible.

He's not just a monster against you guys; unless you're packing Bolt-Snap-Bolt or Karn he's extremely hard for anyone in Modern to remove.
Hey Magerithos, I'm just getting into Modern (and, specifically, Hatebears). I would love it if you could save your past broadcasts for future viewing now that you're streaming. Thanks!
Hey! Thanks for your interest I'm just getting started in streaming so I'm still a beginner. the next step will be saving my broadcasts. Thanks for that hint!
Another tip, strongly suggest getting a mic or investing in one. It makes the stream infinitely better for the streamers.

Decks I play:
Modern:
BR Control
Grixis Bloo
EDH:
Food Chain Prossh
Land Wipe Maelstrom Wanderer
Selvala, Hearth of the Wilds Eldrazi
All in all, the deck construction allows for a more reactive style of play. Rather than playing threats and passing the turn, this deck is more likely to play a threat and then just sit back on its many flash creatures and instants to lock the opponent down in response to some dangerous spell or situation.
I can attest that the style of play works pretty well. Being able to mentally mess with people is worth a lot.
I'm not sure if it's hatebears or death and taxes at this point but this it the deck I'm currently working on. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/04-07-15-hatebears/ . I am trying to explore modern a little and I like the idea of hatebears, and started making a deck list but it seems now like it may be death and taxes. I am trying to keep it a little on the budget side and I'm using cards I already have to keep the cost down for now (liege, finks, temple garden). I have no plans to go to any major tournaments just play casually with it. Any help at all would be great! Thanks
I've been playing GW Hatebears for a long time, thought I don't get to actually go out and play in events that often. Looking at the Magic Origins spoilers I can't help but see some cards that could help re-define this archetype: Archangel of Tithes and Vryn Wingmare.
This really puts the taxes back in the mix while still keeping a strong forward pressure. Exalted is very nice here as you will often be attacking with just one dude, and can utilize your untapped guys with Sky Hussar for uninterrupted card draw. Gavony Township is the nuts card that should be in every Selesnya deck. There's almost 0 removal here for creatures and so the the land destruction becomes more important as my aim is to win the race by holding off opposing creating with the Archangel and mana denial.
This this much taxing and LD potential I'm hoping to leave removal spells trapped in hand and have my dudes outclass/out-race their dudes.
What do you think?
Sideboarding could see the removal of Vryn Wingmares/Thalias for more removal against the creature decks as well as more tool to reccur GhostQuarters (Tilling Treefolk/Crucible of Worlds/Eternal Witness)
Vryn Wingmare might see play but I'm skeptical on Archangel of Tithes. 3 white is not trivial for GW hatebears and her tax doesn't seem that great. It notably does not stop Twin since their last copy can tap her down.
To be honest, I'm pretty skeptical about the inclusion of Vryn Wingmarein addition to Thalia. That's 6 "noncreature spells cost on more" abilities, which I think narrows down the strategic focus too much on taxing noncreature spells.
One of the great things about hatebears is the diversity of hate. Cards like Aven Mindcensor and Hushwing Griff allow you to hate from different angles and in sometimes more effective ways. Cost-taxing effects can be pretty easily played around. Sure, it makes the opponent's mana less efficient, but they still will usually end up with a 1-for-1 at the end. Creatures are a real thing in Modern, so being able to nullify a Snapcaster Mage's, Siege Rhino's, or Deceiver Exarch's ETB abilities is great (a la Hushwing Griff). And forcing your opponent to whiff on a Chord of Calling or fetch land via Aven Mindcensor has the potential to be a 1-for-0 in your favor.
That's not to say that there is no place for Vryn Wingmare. I'm just not sure whether the cost-taxing effect is so good that I would want it to play such a prominent role in my hate strategy.

Playing with proxied cards at sanctioned events is good, actually.

Agree here for the most part.
Vryn Wingmare at least doesn't have the Legendary clause that Thalia "suffers" from but in my build, at least, the 3 spot is pretty crowded already and I'm already thinking that Thalia is a sideboard slot at best right now. If it had flash or was a little beefier, then maybe I could see playing it.
If you can somehow get the WWW for Archangel of Tithes I could see her being decent enough to help break stalemates for her attacking clause. Of course, if you're attacking with it you dont get the benefit of the defensive clause. If I'm looking for that type of effect I would probably just run Ghostly Prison in the board and be done with it.
Random thoughts regarding Origins and what it may bring to the deck:
I think I'd be looking at Kytheon, Hero of Akros as a possible inclusion to the build since there's not many 1 drops to begin with and flipping him is fairly simple.
Swift Reckoning is another option for removal aside from Path to Exile. Depending on your build you may be able to enable the spell mastery and cast it instantly, but I'm not sure if the changes needed to enable that would be worth it.
If I'm going to run more dorks than four Noble Hierarch I think that I would run Honored Hierarch before Birds of Paradise as a more aggressive approach. Being able to attack and still tap for mana once getting its renown bonus seems pretty solid for G investment.
Sigil of Valor seems almost tailor made for Hatebears. Many games end up taking advantage of exalted, and this equipment basically gives every creature exalted. Its cheaper to cast (2 )and to equip ( 1 ) than a sword. I could see strapping it on something like Aven Mindcensor, Mirran Crusader or other evasive attackers and going to town.
The next time I get to play at the store I'm going to try out replacing 1 Mirran Crusader, 1 Kitchen Finks, and 1 Horizon Canopy with 2 Meddling Mage and 1 Island. The Finks and Crusader haven't been fitting very well in my local meta, and I've been wanting to give the Mages a try. I figure 1 Island is enough land wise when I have 3 Company and 4 Birds to produce mana, as well as Ghost Quarter if I absolutely need to get that Island from my deck.

Collecting Timbermare, hit me up if you have any for trade
Hi all, I've been shopping around for a new deck and I've always really been interested in hatebears but have always seemed to go another way. Now, I'm tired of infect and I'm again looking for something new. How has GW hate been lately? I see that it made 14 in a major turnament lately which is nice. Would you consider this a good time to start looking into the deck?
As I see it, it's always a good time to be playing Hatebears, as you can tune it to beat almost anything. Some things are hard to beat, like Infect (dropped popularity recently), Affinity, Merfolks (gained popularity), or Bogles. Tokens and Martyr are also quite hard. Everything else is really winnable, especially if you know what are you doing.
Keep in mind that this is not a deck you can just 'pick up' or netdeck, because the cards on it are not powerful.
I believe WoTC's new policy is to make sure that every color can enjoy the exciting gameplay mechanic of making undercosted dudes and then turning them sideways. Clearly the future of magic.

Oh, I understand that. The big decks in my meta are burn, delver, and one infect (besides me) and one boggles. Other then that, it's a lot of home brew maybe one or two control. I figure with all the fetch hate and maybe two spellskites, it might do a lot of work. What's the idea on CoCo?
I really want to make hatebear but I feel like the 1drops are kinda underwhelming for the strategy. I really want to see wizards make a 1/1 GW Flyer that will become a 3/3 when the Leige hits the field, maybe even with some type of hate effect kinda like Judge's Familiar but for GW. Until then I guess im stuck with mana dorks like Noble Hierarch.
Regarding 1-drops, 4 Noble Hierarch is all you need, some people play a fifth one (Birds of Paradise). I would play Dryad Militant against Storm, mostly. I don't like Hexhunter at all in modern, Qasali is miles better
