Anyone tried planar bridge? I get that its kinda winmore but I opened it at prerelease and wanna know if its worth running
some swear by it, others think its a win-more card because for that amount of mana investment, you can just go for the slaver lock..personally, i don't run it..
My only qualm with slaverlock over planar bridge is that slaverlock requires 2 cards, whereas I guess if you resolve planar bridge, you can then play anything you like either that turn or the following turn. I might test it against my meta and see if its too slow or not
You best bring blue tron derfiend. This Friday I am going to try and grind 12 hours of magic online. If we can avoid all outside distractions and withhold from guzzling down shots of captain Morgan the first 6 hours will be a breeze. The latter half is where I see the wheels potentially falling off. However I will lock myself in my gaming compound and will adhere by my rules of not losing attention. Lots and lots of matches will be played. If you guys want me to play a certain list post it in here and I'll try to get the cards. I plan on playing at least 10 leagues at a rapid pace .
I cant wait for this. I catch all your streams. unfortunately I'm never able to catch you live because of work so I always watch the next day. I have a list I hope you try, good luck.
Been working on a Blue Trondrazi deck lately. Finally got the numbers where I want them. Any input would be great! The power level seems much higher than the normal Artifact based builds.
Can I have some advice against Gifts Storm? Other than chalicing them out of the game, I find it really hard to close out games against them. Empty the Warrens is pretty hard to deal with as well.
I've often thought about building Eldrazi Tron with the flavor of my favorite color, blue. I'm not sure about Endbringer though. I want to see more results of having that creature in the deck before I use it. Have you thought about adding one Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger as a possible game closing plan?

Every time I play the deck I seem to be either closing out the game or have lost completely before I'm able to reliably cast Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger. It feels like a win more card in such an aggressive build to be honest. And Endbringer is a house and a half. Playing out counterspells into Thought-Knot into Smasher into Endbringer into more counterspells is veryy hard for most fair decks to beat.

your locked in GGomes. Unfortunately I despise facebook and never have been lucky enough to own a pet bird that tweets so those options will never be available barring something absolutely insane occurring. Idk what time or if you'll be around but i'll sling your list when you are available. Pop in anytime and make your known presence known and i'll sling it.
I've been playing a 'mid-range' utron with the Eldrazi, I think there's something there that has it's own merits.
Playing with the 4 & 5 drop Eldrazi + Temple one is able to 'turn the corner' as early as turn 3. One part of Eldrazi tron showing up in all the top8s is the Turn 3 Reality Smasher, and turn 2/3 TKS. If one doesn't go all-in on the Eldrazi we can keep our Islands while still having the opportunity to ask aggro questions. As was said just recently - We don't need to find a 'better' win condition, we just need time (Literally every great control deck ever). Well one thing that buys a dumb amount of time is taking their turn 3 play and the tempo then holing up behind counters and thirst. Another thing is sending a 5/5 trample hasty at them - as we know - sometimes the best answers are questions.
I ran a too Eldrazi Heavy list at a small tourney last Saturday, going as deep as 3x Matter Reshaper and as light as 5x Island. It did not feel good, I was praying either to hit my curve or spending too much time stressing about making this blueless line work etc etc. The good starts were still good however and the deck could still function when the right parts were found. I finish 2-1, the round I lost was a really tough deck, Monovalue? (I like 8suns), a WG thing with Sun Titans Renegade Ralliers and stuff. Huge value, hard to keep down ramps digs etc etc. I feel I baited myself with my deck construction into keeping 'curve' hands and was really punished for it in this round.
I really missed the blue things, they are amazing, settling on tweaking this following list until satisfied.
My sideboard choices are being influenced by my paper meta, yes 4x Dismember - But I don't have tecedge for the manlands. 3x Revokers because I absolutely hate lili atm - but I would like to improve that slot. I try not to leave home without yard hate, 2 Relics gives me a nice tool box for the trinket mages. Maindeck I'm running Walking Ballista, which I view as more versatile option for what has become main deck Spatial in a few lists I've seen. Also 3x Talisman, there's no Solemn, I view them as Flex Slots for boarding and ramping out turn 3 RS/TKS has often proven to be 'take 5, then 3 for one yourself with Path) or similar.
Planar Bridge? No!!! It costs 14 mana, or a Wurmcoil cast and then a Sundering Titan. If you have enough time to set it up how were you ever going to lose playing more efficent cards than it?
Eldraziblue players, I cut Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger from my style of list a few weeks ago in favour of Kozilek the Great Distortion, I feel we play enough maindeck answers already that Ulamogs cast trigger is 'never' going to b what we want while Kozzies cast trigger is easy to manipulate into reading 'Draw 6 cards'. He also has a Nuts activated ability in a deck with a full curve.
Lots and lots of matches will be played. If you guys want me to play a certain list post it in here and I'll try to get the cards. I plan on playing at least 10 leagues at a rapid pace .
Please try any list with Walking Ballista! It Chump blocks, kills Confidants or Mana dorks, and goes to the dome ftw.

I just watched your stream from yesterday and saw you ran my list. 4-1 is nice. For some reason whenever I watch your videos after you stream parts of it are muted (if anyone knows why or how to fix please help), I was wondering what you're thoughts are and what you would change/improve. Habitually i'm a budget guy so chalice was not an option for me but someone asked 80$ for 3 near mint chalice so i did not have other choice that to buy them.
I've made a deck list with what i have at the moment:
Runesnag and perillous vault should be upgrade to remand and oblivion stone in a near futur.
My meta consisted of a lot of our worst matchup like hatebear, death and taxes, merfolk and burn. Some others deck that i see regularly are infect, valakuts, elves, 8 wacks, affinity, rg tron, jeskai control.
How can i improve my deck to be competitive in this kind of meta?
Pierakor , Derfiend post 75's for me to sling tomorrow.. I'm gonna need variations to complete 12 hours. My mind will be going absolutely nuts about 5 hours in i think.
Sage I'm not sure if i can run eldrazi... That is asking alot.. We'll see...
As far as walking ballista is concerned i'll try it out sometime for sure. Probably tomorrow. I'm old school and just tell everyone triskelion is better. Whether my statement is correct or not, it doesn't matter. Once you pick a line, you commit.
In fact i should have named my sideboard as a maybeboard because these are only somes cards that i already have on hand but i'm not really sure about them. Hellkite was only there as a budget replacement for a second wurmcoil engine....

The Eldrazi is a slightly different style for sure, I know where you're coming from. When I get the last of my chalices and explosives, I'm definitely going to be slinging the true Utron for more than a few matches.
Looking forwards to having some time to catch-up on watching in a couple of hours
Does or has anyone played Rune Snag in the place of remand or mana leak? I feel like with Thirst For Knowledge its more likely to be better on average than mana leak, right?
The problem with leak and rune snag are that they do not replace themselves or help you dig a little deeper. This deck can't run 1 for 1s and get ahead. The logic is there for leak and snag but the reality is they don't really help our end goal. Dig, stall, slaver lock.
5 more hours of work then it's game time ! (I'm trying to mentally prepare). Hopefully play 50 (insane) matches with a control deck. Get a good win rate at the end of the day. 70 percent or better.
Fabricate finally came in the mail and I got a chance to try it out at last night's weekly modern tournament here in Reno. I have to say, I've been impressed with it so far. I drew and used it in two games and in both games it won me the game. The first time I used it was against eldrazi tron. I fabricated a map to win with mindslaver lock. The second time was against mono red prison, I was able to grab an o stone, play it, and then crack it the next turn to get rid of his blood moon, pithing needle on expedition map, and planeswalkers, which allowed me to find a win in the next couple turns. I think I'll be keeping the 1/1 split of treasure mage and fabricate for now.
Overall I went 3-0 in matches, didn't lose a single game, and then split for the last match so I could go home. It's taken me nearly two years, but I think I'm finally getting good at this deck.

I used to run a 1/1 split of fabricate/treadure mage as well, but I switched to 2 treasure mages when the meta became too aggressive and the 2/2 body became crucial. I found that a chump blocker + a wurmcoil next turn stablizes just as well as an o-stone, and becomes a huge threat at the same time. Against control, t-mage is a clock and card advantage if they let it resolve. It's also worth noting that I run 2 wurmcoils + a gearhulk, giving it more targets.
