Ugin is great in a lot of the usually bad small creature matchups so he is an auto include for me.
I tend to mainboard 1 Slaver, 1 Ugin, 1 Platinum Angel, 1 Sundering Titan and 2 Wurmcoils for my win conditions.
I like to double up on Wurmcoil because it is easily the cheapest of our wincons and extremely good at stabilising the board. I don't really mind having just the one Mindslaver because it can really only take 1 activation to mess someone up. Also it's pretty easy to just buy it back with academy ruins.
i really with they would print some kind of modal cantrip, the primary effect being "your graveyard has hexproof until end of turn" along with some really weird things like:
-name a creature card. until end of turn, when a creature with the same name ... enters the battelfield tapped and loses haste
-counter target ability that does not have a target
and it would cost 1U or something like that
Psh, they dont print things that are good for blue. It would get banned.

Mono Blue Tron is the only deck that should be called "UrzaTron"
Modern:
Izzet Coilstorm

Slivers (Sliver Overlord)
Jor Kadeen token explosion
I run two Ugins and one Mindslaver. Mindslaver is my backup wincon.
Ugin DOES destroy a ton of MUs, and Slaver getting exiled ruins the backup plan, but its all down to preference.
I find Ugin's impact to be more useful than a second slaver, because he IS extremely potent. Some people say a value slaver is nice. Run it how you will, play it how you will.
Honestly man i think you are definitely wrong. 2 Ugins main is fine and yes he does just straight up win us alot of games but ive been playing mono blue tron exclusivley in modern for about 2 and a half years and ive never run less than 2 mindslaver. mindslaver has far more utility then ugin as well. even without the lock you can win off of a single slaver activation.
So i was just reading this tournament report https://www.reddit.com/r/TronMTG/comments/4xwzyy/tournament_report_blue_tron/ and i have a question. I noticed that he was siding out expedition map in a lot of matchups. Can someone explain the reasoning behind this? Is it because we dont want to be tapping out EOT vs control matchups?

that is different...
when he -2 or -3 expedition maps he is upping the decks number of spells that can interact with the opponent. which might be something. Map sometimes is a dead draw. i mean often your in situations needing a solution, not a tutor for tron pieces.
definitly a hazard of dead draw when you increase the number of chalice of the void in the deck.

I usually take out maps in match-ups where I want to play chalice on 1, decks that bring in stony silence, and decks that will bring in ancient grudge. Especially when I'm on the draw, I don't want the awkwardness keeping turn 1 map only to have it decayed, grudged or inquisitioned. I like to keep them in for some match-ups like infect where it's worth getting stranded in your hand because getting fast tron and ghost quarter is important.
I've long argued against siding out maps in almost any matchup that doesn't play Leonin Arbiter/Aven Mindcensor. Even against the fastest deck turn1 map, turn2 crack, turn3 Enigne/Angel/TKS is usually decent. I don't agree with the sentiment that boarding in chalice means you have to board out maps. What is your road to victory against the fast aggressiv decks?
turn 2 chalice
early interaction (spatial, dismember)
turn3/4 tron + "fatty"
I think it is obvious that you deprive yourself of one of the few ways we can win. You also have to keep in mind that chalice usually takes away more than 4 cards and more important cards to their game plan than map is to ours. And maps can always be discarded for Thirst if you happen to draw one.
Hey guys looking for tips vs Bant Eldrazi. I run a pretty stock shock build. Right now I have 2 dismember, 3 spatial contortion to deal with most of their creatures. Is there another good SB card I should consider adding? I feel like the matchup is rough since sundering titan is no good and neither is Ugin in this matchup. Whats the usual path to victory here, riding a wurmcoil to victory?

I have played with 2 Ugins MB for almost a year now. I have never regretted it. I tried the two slaver tron previously, but I felt it wasnt enough utility. Yes, the ability to control their turn is powerful and can ruin them, but so does removing all their colored permanents and destroying every creature they play.
Its preference, not right or wrong. We have different metas and playstyles.

Soooo what happened to TKS?? Did they get phased out already? Is something wrong with them? They're the only pieces I'm missing and I'm wondering if I should still grab them
I'm having an issue with my SB: it's the same as werdwood's, I just cut the Spell Snare and added two copies of Grafdigger's Cage. 16 cards... Should I get rid of Jester's Cap?
depends on your meta. not only jester's cap but your whole sb. grafdigger is mostly useful against dredge and collected company. jester's cap is best vs linear all in combo like ad nauseam and scapeshift.

No you just don't see anyone champion-ing TKS right now. Currently active streamers (shok+werdwood) just don't like him as much. I think however that TKS is a staple in u tron and will remain one for a long time, maybe forever. I don't mean you have to play TKS, but it's definitely viable and strong.
I've been playing four spatial contortion mainboard with a 1/1 split of dismember side/main and I have been having the best time against aggro. I tested the affinity matchup a few times the other day and post board it felt heavily favored for me. Burn and infect haven't been much of a problem either. Haven't played against much merfolk or zoo lately but I have been hopeful.
I recently started siding out 2-3 maps when I'm on the draw and my deck has been performing very well. I think I will pick up 3 spell snare for the board and change them out with maps on the draw as they are good when I am behind and need to slow down the game
If I was looking for a cheap 2nd oblivion stone do you all think perilous vault could do a good poor mans impression? Or would aetherspouts be a better choice?

other than that you REALLY can't do anything with T1 Eldrazi Temple+Eldrazi Mimic
sometimes i feel, that mimic should have been axed along with Eye of Ugin...

i dont think its a good meta call at the moment personally, but it can be powerful in the deck for sure.
definitely want 3 Spatial Contortion in the main deck.
kill or counter what you can. turn 5 or sooner you want to land and fire off oblivion stone.
sideboard you want to bring aetherize or Ætherspouts for disrupting them.
pithing needle on eldrazi displacer cause otherwise he will be flashing in and out your wurmcoil engine or platinum angel which will stabalize us.
if they have cavern of souls remember you can cast the counters to get the scrying and cantripping effect so as to get dead counters out of your hand.
going up to 2 or 3 oblivion stone main deck might be really good call if your meta has a lot of eldrazi.
i'm not entirely a fan of dismember in this match up because they can get so aggressive, your basically doing 4 points of damage for them.
turn off those colorless sources/eldrazi temples.
