In my case this card could be a wincon (not officially spoiled yet)
Search your library and/or graveyard for a creature card with cmc X or less and put it on the battlefield. If X is 10 or more, your creatures gain haste and +X/+X until eot. (source)
As I'm running the defender ramp package and is often easily able to generate 12 mana pretty fast, I could tutor a Wall of Denial or Arcades.
I'm only splashing blue for Arcades atm, so mana wise I guess it's more consistant. This list is lacking in removals, but I hope to lock the opponent up, and remove anything necessary with Engineered Explosives or Oblivion Stone when I'm comboing off.
Call can get a Drift then get High Alert in case of a Surgical / Med mage on Arcades. It makes the opening hand less weak vs discard spells too.
A good permanent flicker effect could get value out of Walls (and reset Shards cumulative upkeep counters), but I didn't find one that satisfies me.
The idea is to have nine copies of the enabler cards (High Alert & Arcades) by putting 3 copies each in the deck and 1 High Alert in the SB which can be grabbed with the 3 Glittering Wishes. Glittering Wish can also find the best beater (Wall of Denial) or specific answers (Gaddock Teeg, Knight of Autumn, Meddling Mage, Detention Sphere). Tetsuko Umezawa makes the team unblockable.
Does this deck look competitive enough for someone who wants to start playing Modern?
(I am playing Jeskai but a friend of mine started to develop an interest for MtG )
Please let me know what you think.
I was brought here by a great player StevomatUWR. This is a deck that my brother was intersted in for a while with Axebane Guardian. I am by no means an expert on this style of deck, but I LOVE non-tier decks that can compete and this is one of them.
If I were to play this deck I would definitely try to steal a few game one wins with a copy or two of Worship along side Sylvan Caryatid and Wall of Denial. I know my jeskai deck would just crumble to that combo. I would probably gut a copy of permiter captain, one copy of nyx-fleece ram, one copy wall of denial and one copy of high alert since you have wish for them. Then you could add 2 worship and 2 sylvan caryatid for an additional "win con". Otherwise it looks sick. There a lot of decks in modern right now that would really struggle against this deck.
Another interesting sideboard card would be Teyo, the Shieldmage who can give you hexproof and also spit out defenders. Eidolon of Rhetoric is another card I would want in the sideboard. Trostani, Selsnyia's Voice is a card I would consider as well for the more grindy matchups.
I will continue to look into this style of deck and see if anything else jumps out. Looks awesome and magic is much more fun with friends so it's awesome to hear your friend is playing now!
Hi CurdBros, thanks a lot for your input!
I was already thinking about Worship along side Sylvan Caryatid. Definitely a good idea. Might have to find out during playtesting what's best to cut to free some room.
Teyo in SB can easily replace Leylines. Eidolon of Rhetoric is a very good addition to the SB!
One more thing I was thinking about is combat tricks. 2x Aegis of the Heavens could be better than 2x CoCo. The ability to deal 15 dmg by casting Aegis on an unblocked Wall of Denial seems too strong to not include.

Aegis of the heavens looks like an awesome combat trick! I would definitely include one or you could play a copy or two in the sideboard when you want to be a bit more aggressive.
This deck looks really really cool and there is always a huge advantage when the opponent has no idea what they are playing against. Things like Aegis of the Heavens will blow out so many people.
After a few more matches I replaced the Rams with Wall of Blossoms. The card draw is more important in this deck (see attached picture). The deck is still working very well but looses against Control too often. I need to add Defense Grid to the SB in addition to the Dispels.

When ~ ETB, you may put a land card from your hand on the battlefield tapped.

They are trying to make a dork ! They are !
It seems that I was right though it wasn't a particulrly bold prediction anyway.

I've redecorated my deck and is now trying out the prison combo with Karn, the Great Creator/Mycosynth Lattice (I know, this combo is everywhere) together with my Staff of Domination combo, and with a lot of other prison shenanigans like Ensnaring Bridge, Worship, Gideon of the Trials and Platinum Angel. As of now I have only goldfished the deck on tappedout as I'm missing the Blossoms, but it seems fun, looking forward to try it out on others.
Here is my list.

Hee is my current list
Had fun against Bogles
Had fun against Grixis Shadow
Had fun against Titanshift
But it's pretty hard to win against control decks, even with two Dispels in the SB.
