It's nice to see the Glare having some success. I want to use that card, I really do. But token life gain is already a rather positive matchup against creature based decks. Why dedicate even more slots to creatures? Throne is a bomb, but less useful in a glare deck no?
Do you guys have a list to post with glare and/or throne?
I had put in a few Genesis Chamber. I haven't been disappointed with it.
Just went from like 12 to 46 life from a genesis chamber followed by a return to ranks. Jund scooped. 2-1. They just can't deal with Auriok very well. They do have an answer for LS, just not many.
The Sky Hussar IS AWESOME. Draw when you need it. Extras means cast one with settlement/encampment to untap everyone!
Not a huge fan of that CMC on stonybrook. Having soul warden or souls attendant with auriok and emmara gives plenty of options for sky hussar which has won me soooo many games. Turn 3 your draw engine is going. The signaler gives u options to create multiple tokens/vigilance. It's another emmara that has a similar effect to emmara. Additionally a board wipe really hurts this deck. Chord/Glare etc. I'm currently running 4 emmara and 3 signaler. I recommend it highly. With so many 1 and 2 drops and souls at 3 there's plenty to do with 3 mana. Let alone just holding a chord for 5 on selfless. That's one issue I'm having with the deck is the mana base. Chord is very demanding, yet hussar requires white creatures.
This list is what I'm playing right now. I have to cut 7 cards that probably would be 4 nighmarket Lookout, 1 razorverge thicket, 1 Vehicle,
I know that stonybrook schoolmaster has a really ugly CC and paying 3 is not that good, but my list has manadorks (which let me play it in second turn) and are emmara 5-9 that produces tokens in the same way. I think patrol signaler is not comparable to stonybrook (because this one is a free way to create tokens as emmara) but comparable with my other engine oketra's monument + whitemane Lion which cost mana to make tokens. In fact, I'm thinking on replacing 2 monument and the lions for this guy. Has more synergy with the rest of the deck and are creatures to go on.
So I reccomend you not to cut stonybrook completely (2 should be enough) and play also the signaler(which cost mana to get the effect).
Things to point in my list:
1) I play a singleton of Divine Visitation: If the game goes long, this card is absurd. Tap emmara create a serra angel, tap stonybrook create a serra angel, tap westvale Abbey create a serra angel. It has won me enough games to justify the one copy in the maindeck.
2) Westvale Abbey: Sometimes we have lot of mana to spend at something (so creating more tokens is fine) but also sometimes we need to gain life fast or finish the game fast. The demon can do both and one copy doesn't hurt the consistence of the deck.
3) 4 Survivors' encampment + Shefet Dunes: Both are deserts, the first creates synergy with the deck but the last let me sacrify any DESERT to make a crusade effect so being able to give all my creatures +1/+1 for some turns make this configuration very good.
4)Smuggler's Copter: I think the copter is a must in the deck. It creates card selection and have a respectable body to attack or defend while also provide you a way to tap all the creatures you want. It has great synergy with the deck and I think you should play it also.
5) Throne of the god-pharaoh: Creates a way to win games without attacking. It has been good for me having one to race.
6) Conclave Tribunal: It has a catch all answer. I prefer it to assassins' trophy because it doesn't require black, has more synergy with the deck and can be even cheaper. Also doesn't give lands to the opponent although can't target lands for tron i.e.
7) stonybrook schoolmaster: I think we should play at least two of these.
8) Whitemane Lion + Oketra's Monument: A way to create multiple tokens in a turn spending mana. Probably patrol signaler could fill the same role and has synergy with the rest of the deck. I have to test it and probably change to signaler because is only 1 card and also has lot of synergy.
9) Masako the Humorless: The rottenmayer lady of the deck. She can ambush opponents that attack with their troops believing that they are safe. Also let me attack and deffend without worries. The bad thing is her CC and that is really fragile. Can be cut if needed.
10) March of the multitudes: If you have board pressence this card is great, but if not sometimes useless. I'm keeping one for the instant token production effect.
About the matches:
In general I'm very happy with this list, although there are some pairings that I'm not very comfortable with.
Yesterday I tested the deck against a Cragganwick Cremator deck and he destroyed me. We played 6 games (without sideboard) and he won 4. The problem was that if he drew the cremator and deal 16 damage, that are lot of damage!! In all games my board was very good, but there was two issues: 1) Cremator won me directly and steel leaf champion could not be blocked :(. I think your list would perform much better against this particular deck because all the life gain.
Also played against tron but the pairing was also horrible. I should try to get something against this pairing.
I'm not having mana issues at all (but I'm playing dorks so that solves lot of mana problems) but I think you could use wooded bastion to fix your mana.
I've created a new list merging my list and ElvesotShelves list so we can have the best of both worlds. I'm testing it and it's working. I've tested it against the cremator guy of the other day (and now I can stand and the games are more balanced ), burn (easy enough because champions are CHAMPIONS here) and against an ally deck with experimental frenzy that goes long to the limit. The deck works really good right now. My list is:
Have some coments about the list. I'll post them later
EDIT: Well only some comments about the list:
1) legion's landing is being disappointing. I thin'k I'm going to replace it with another sister. I need more the life gain effect, and for transforming it into adanto, I usually have to sacrify creatures in attack. Once transformed is good but not convincing me.
2) Return to the Ranks is also being disappointing. I never used it till now, and recovering the board state is easier with the WTT creatures than it could seem. Also going to be replaced.
3)Throne of the god-paraoh is not being devastating in all games, but there are others where it shines, so by now, I'm going to keep it as 1 of.
4) I think the deck needs another chord of calling, so probably I'm going to use three of them
5) Point the synergy with copter and lingering souls and with all the deck.
The rest of the deck is working really good so no more changes are planned atm.
I'm running 12 sisters. Been exploring the green token makers and white token makers. Chording Thune is generally a game ender as they're probably going to kill emmara first, before they see it. Chord end step is an emblem or 2. And then more emblems simply by attacking with emmara casting creatures etc.
Glare is also a great enabler. It's a slower win. But it's super effective against those big delve creatures or most fatties. Emrakul ain't a problem.
I almost want to run leyline of sanctity main board as the deck has an incredible matchup against any aggro or creature based matchup.
Hussar is the other enabler, and the lands of course.
Chord, Glare, and hussar are all difficult for opponent to deal with if your not in blue/black. I haven't tested it, but I'm not fond of copter. I could be wrong, but it's an artifact enabler that can also get blanked by creature removal. It just adds outs for opponent instead of diversifying the deck away from creatures. Will post more later
I think the right configuration is 3 chords, 2 glares, and 2 hussars. With full sisters and auriok. Everytime I play with throne I get the same impression, powerful, but don't build around. Pure 1 of.
Deck does need some interaction with board wipes. Ranks is sometimes good, but really only against a mass of targeted removal.
I've been toying with the green saproling makers because thune flat out ends the game if they don't path it right away. Wooded bastion is a better answer for convoke.
I could see the vehicles being useful against board wipes, but so are manlands? Like Wildwood. Interesting.
Any thoughts on garruk? I can think of a lot of situations where all 3 of his abilities are useful
Lots of decks pack land destruction. So I'd rather run sprout swarm over lgeions, ss comes with convoke. Sure it's counterable but choke is green which packs the most sideboard options for blue. I dont even see sprout swarm as really playable, it's slow and 5 Mana for a token is a lot. You STILL need a board for it to find grace. And that's the thing. What's going to build your board. So far Emmara Glare with a chorded Thune is the core.
About boardwipes, as you say, you have vehicles. A copter with any token producer/creature/lingerings in grave is going to recover you fast. Copter provides card selection which also is really good.
Also I not agree with you in some numbers. I think the right configuration would be 3 chord, 3 glare and 3 Hussar and 9-10 sisters (min 3 auriok).
About garruk (i think you talk about garruk wildspeaker), I don't like it so much. The overrun could be great but I'm afraid we are going to get it in most of games. Also the +1 doesn't seem to have much synergy with our deck although perhaps can be used to get the triple G for chord. I also take a look on elspeth, knight-errant which produces tokens with the +1. Definitely we should test both of them and see what happens.
Also I'm thinking if a single trostani discordant would be good in our deck. It's 3x1 card that helps to recover after a boardwipe, pumps all your team and with chord, you can do it at instant speed so take a lot of advantage. The third ability doesn't seem to be very useful but making two tokens with lifelink and giving all your board a +1/+1 can finish games lot of times.
Also could mycoloth could find a way here as a massive token producer? I think the answer is no, but the card is funny

Been running this list:
4 Essence Warden
4 Soul Warden
4 Auriok Champion
4 Emmara, Soul of the Accord
2 Archangel of Thune
2 Sky Hussar
1 Selfless Spirit
4 Lingering Souls
2 Return to Ranks
Enchantment
2 Legion's Landing
2 Glare of Subdual
2 Path to Exile
2 Assassin's Trophy
2 Chord of Calling
It's been okay
just as good as emmara
Emmara's # 5-8
On that glare plan? Check
Holdout Settlement/Survivors' Encampment? Check
Hussar/Chord? Check
I'd love to see some gameplay or saffron olive play a deck like this
ok that's cheesy lol
I also think stonybrook schoolmaster should be in MD at least as a 2 x.
Also patrol signaler can be useful as a manasink and a way to generate lot of value with glare. perhaps a 2 x also.
This deck is fun a lot. One of the funniest decks I've played in lot of time!!
First of all, as promised, my list:
2 Birds of Paradise
4 Night Market Lookout
4 Emmara, Soul of the Accord
4 Smuggler's Copter
1 Throne of the god-pharaoh
4 stonybrook schoolmaster
3 Whitemane Lion
3 Oketra's Monument
2 Conclave Tribunal
3 Path to Exile
3 Glare of subdual
1 Divine Visitation
2 Aetherspere harvester
1 Masako the Humorless
3 Sky Hussar
1 March of the multitudes
3 Shefet Dunes
2 Gavony Township
1 westvale Abbey
4 Razorverge thicket
4 Windswepth Heath
2 Temple Garden
2 Plains
1 Forest

Is another take on the deck. A new direction to explore
