Maybe because it’s not the planeswalker the deck needs, or maybe it’s not as good as we think in a metagame full of aggro decks and fast combo decks..?
I MB 3 Lilis. She is excellent vs decks which hold value in hand (Storm and other combo), especially when accompanied by T1 or 2 disruption, and she locks our opponent out in top deck mode. Playing Lili T5 after wrathing T4 when Humans or other aggro has dumped their hand T1-3 is often GG. Plus, she wins vs Bogles. I don't know what I'd run in her place, Leylines maybe
hey same here im on three lilys too I'm def not replacing her good against control and better than GotT against combo imho, but I run both little gids and lilys and I'm splashing red for x4 nahiri and an emrakul but I keep the b/w core the same basically
What do you guys think of splashing red for x4 nahiri and an emrakul, for my deck thats what I did plus one copy of dreadbore so just a splash for 5 red spells total and im on 2 field of ruin on 25 lands. Ive been happy with my results I would recomend it I can post my list if you guys want
Took my deck out yesterday for Modern, went 1-1 against two Jund decks. All games were very close and I never felt that I was not competitive: a well placed Wrath of God won me 2 games, and a well placed Maelstrom Pulse on 6 spirits cost me one. I boarded in Leyline of Sanctity, but after drawing all 3 copies in 2 separate games, I'm thinking it's not the best approach against Jund. I'm probably cutting them, since they no longer protect our planeswalkers
Last game was against Sun and Moon. Game 1, I got Blood Mooned (I was very tired at that point and could easily have played around). Game 2, through Gemstone Cavern and Simian Spirit Guide, he went Chalice T1, Chandra, ToD T2, and he was going to play Big Gid T3. That took more time to shuffle than to play.
Beat Merfolk (2-0), UG Infect (2-0), and non-Eldrazi WB Death and Taxes (2-0). Lost to Ascension Storm (0-2), Damping Sphere isn't nearly as effective there as I imagine it is against Gifts Storm. I ran a similar list the week before and went 0-3 - UR Moon (1-2) , Humans (1-2), and Esper Control (0-2).
Went 2-1 at my weekly with Todd Stevens’ recent 5-0, less a Gideon of the Trials and both Sorins (didn’t have them) and added the third Brutality from the board, a 4th Gideon, Ally and an Ob Nixilis Reignited.
R1: Lost 0-2 to Hollow One. Game 1 was typical Hollow One nonsense and game 2 couldn’t find RiP.
R2: Beat Hollow One 2-0. Sweepers game 1 and RiP game 2.
R3: Beat Jeskai Delver 2-0. Gideons and discard make this easy.

souls plus wraths plus fields for manlands makes affinity a great matchup, and stony in the side is obviously wonderful.
Looks pretty standard trading fatal pushes for cast outs.

I’m running blessed alliance and timely reinforcments sideboard for them only now with dampening sphere in the side. I’m not liking dampening and thinking of going back to letlines as a 3 of
gideon of the trials buying time for a few shambling vent hits has made burn not too bad of a matchup, main deck brutalities as well. Trials plus 1 on a creature followed by an emblem essentially gains 6-9 life on its own stopping an attack then requiring 2 spells to take him out.
I wonder what the thought was for including Bontu's Last Reckoning over another Damnation or Wrath of God. Not being able to untap for an extra turn seems rough...
Or Day of Judgement...playing around Meddling Mage naming one of the other two or something?

I personally have gotten rid of it all together. It’s pretty bad in a deck that is becoming more midrange with ya curving at 4 cmc really It is not a great card IMO I’ve gone up to 4 paths and 4 fatal pushes mainboard and down to 4 wraths (1 day of judgment, 1 damnation, 2 wrath’s) I’ve also sideboarded 1 settle for pesky matchups
I only play online but Jeskai control has been everywhere (in my leagues at least, 7 jeskai control out of my last 30 league matches) and the matchup has been horrendous. Ill be off the deck for now online as affinity and humans feel like they're being driven down by jeskai and they were the relatively free wins.

Do you guys ever have problems with card advantage? These lists don't really have a way main board (minus Ob-Nixilis) to gain card advantage or dig through the deck.

I play dark confidant in my build, so I don't have problems with it, but I could understand why other builds might.

It is a problem with the deck. Sideboard arguels bloodfast for grindy matchups, otherwise stacking the deck with cards that aren’t bad topdecks is the best option. I’ve thought of trying phyrexian arena
I would love to play esper walkers but my problem is that there is no splash color. I would rather play something with two main colors so I know what to fetch. Trying to play with double W, B and U just seems too taxing on the mana base. I get that you are only playing Jace in double blue that means you still need to be fetching and shocking for a long time to stay on curve.
I'm also not a fan of Terminus without more ways to trigger it. Though I've never played with the card.
I think this is the correct way to build it. As much as I like Jace most decks don't want him. And I like having a splash color in three color decks and blue seems to be the weakest in the list. I would even advocate for 1 or 0 snapcaster mages. You can't snap terminus or lingering souls which gives you 14 hits. At that point maybe just run more removal if that's what you need. Maybe Wall of Omens instead.
