This deck usually wins by Misthollow Griffin, but it is designed to threaten Hedron Alignment. Shelldock Isle, Search the City, and Serum Powder can exile cards. Misthollow Griffin and Eternal Scourge can be cast from exile. If Shelldock Isle gets a bad card, Tragic Lesson can bounce it to be played again. Fog Bank will block large creatures and Drift of Phantasms can block small or Transmute to Hedron Alignment. Champion of Wits is to get Alignment into the graveyard, block creatures, or both. Sometimes Tragic Lesson is cast to discard Alignment into graveyard. Search the City never gives extra turns, only exiles and draws additional cards.
I do not think this deck is good, but maybe it can be better. Please do not be mad if you do not understand this deck, I will explain it if it is confusing.
Also in order to discard cards you may want to Splash red or Black. If not then things like Thirst for Knowledge are better than Tragic Lesson because you can discard extra Serum Powders, and Chart a Course will discard stuff at a cheaper cost. Monastery Siege could let you discard every turn and dig for all 4.
I don't think you'll ever be activating Shelldock Isle, and since it exiles face down you can't win if you exile a Hedron Alignmentt, so it probably shouldn't be in your deck. The interaction with Tragic Lesson just isn't worth it.
Because search is pure value!
Look at his list. Logic knot does not belong since he's not countering any spells...
Set adrift also doesn't have a spot in this deck since there is no interaction with the opponent other than blocking.
I'm pretty sure the op wants to play tragic lesson in this deck. Seems fitting after all. So no thanks on the other options.
I'm building this deck! Looks too saucy to not bring to the ptq.

Search the city is bad
Playing a bad 3cmc draw spell in place of a good one is bad
Excluding delve spells just because the original deck builder may have forgot about them is bad
Building the deck as is, and then playing it in a ptq, is a waste of money.
^^
I'm pretty sure that this was a sarcastic post rather than a serious one (at least it is the impression I've got).
As far as this deck goes, I wouldn't consider Misthollow Griffin as a "real" win-con as it is just a medium-sized flyer which scares no one and Hedron Alignment won't ever win a (real) game either.
BtW, the easiest way to exile the discarded cards would probably be Relic of Progenitus.
If you want to use search the city to exile your creatures then a better option is in the above comment, play relic of progenitus. It will also be a good inclusion of you want to swap tragic lesson for thirst for knowledge since it increases the number of artifacts in your deck to discard.
Yes I was kidding around. No harm intended. Sometimes a good laugh is just what the doctor ordered. In truth I'd like to see the deck evolve. I actually like the alignment win con. This needs to be done!

I did not know that Shelldock Isle cannot help me because of the rules. I will remove them.
Thirst for Knowledge is very good. I will use it instead of Tragic Lesson.

I have a deck idea, and I am trying to make it better. I am not very good at Modern, so I ask for help.
Search the City is not great, but it is what I think of with blue exile. Now that Torpf has told me of Delve cards, I will use Delve cards instead.
I use Misthollow Griffin because of Path of Exile and Oblivion Ring. If I can exile from graveyard with Delve, even better now.
