Well, I'm dumb and forgot to add them back in this week. Forgot about that before I left for fnm. So far I like them but I don't have a ton of experience with them yet. I'm already soft to blood moon and I don't have any good ways around it without being lucky. I think that's fine. The mana is going to suck, it is what it is. I also don't think they are necessary but death touch does provide an interesting semi evasion which is neat. I still think it's worth testing a couple. Also possible it coming in tapped makes it too weak to include.
I went 4-1 on Friday. Won't leave a huge tourney post. R1 and 2 were vs abzan and then sultai. Both similar matches. Only thing to do is match removal and hope to get out ahead. Outside of tasigur my threats line up better than theirs.
2-0.
R3 bant coco counters. I think I got pretty lucky in this match. He's playing the combo so always the chance I Just lose. Thankfully he didn't. Things lined up decent for me and got there. His cocos were pretty awful but i guess that can happen. This feels easier than the abzan or elves versions. I saw far more disruption though so I'm sure it has other good matches.
3-0
R4 white death and taxes. Long grindy match. Nothing super exciting other than we had great games. Got a video of the match I need to find on YouTube. I'll post that soon as I find it.
4-0
Semi-finals mono green aggro. I got stomped. Not much to say g1 as I have no sweepers. G2 got color screwed at 3 mana. I thought I could use my gq to play damnation mis-counting my lands and attacked assuming i could damnation after. Turns out i couldn't and just died. Oops. Probably wouldn't have won anyways. Without drawing flaying tendrils, it's actually hard to fight them. It's not the worst matchup but it's very hard.
4-1
No complaints overall other than I wish I had the mires to test. Not going to be ale to test given thanksgiving this coming week but hopefully I can find time to get in some practice. I will most likely be taking this deck to gp Hartford in April assuming no huge shifts in the meta. It's a while from now so who knows.

Finally found the link to my match vs death and taxes. I'm on the left my opponent is a pro tour player. Real deal opponent. I like playing him, we always have great games
Went 3-1 at fnm. Lost to abzan r1 in 3 very close games. Ultimately lost g3 to topdeck tireless tracker. beat mono red skred, death and taxes and budget mono green aggro/infect deck.
Tested out 1 hissing quagmire and 1 driven // despair. Quagmire was fine but not amazing. I think it's necessary though. Only running 22 lands makes the slots super tight. I kinda wanted to go back to 23 and add another basic but I have no idea what to cut...a discard spell probably? I'm not sure the numbers on quagmire. 1 is certainly making the list but I can see some hard matches where deathtouch is super relevant and I'd want 2. Most times it's a grey ogre and sad. I think any way to help survive topdeck mode seems looking into.
I think driven is still worthy to test again. I'm not sure it's better than Rhonas but I can see it. Any way to draw a couple extra cards and push through some damage seems worth it. Not actually pumping the creatures was kinda annoying as it's not a potential "counterspell" for things like bolt or really pushing through damage since it's a sorcery and no gotcha moments. I think I will also be shifting explosives for ratchet bomb. Not being able to hit 3+ drops is a problem. Plus it's usually a better reshaper flip.
I think another basic is worth it, possibly adding a land and getting another. I think I'm going to just turn urborg into a swamp. I will be sad to cut it but I think 2 basics is way too greedy. I guess I would have to dodge a blood moon meta and it's fine. I got very lucky and managed to beat skred through blood moon but I'll be honest I was very lucky as I always had 1 basic to at least cast some things but I was basically shut out. Having a wastes seems good as well. Plenty of ghost quarter/field of ruin and moons and fulminator mage running around. Speaking of ruin, if I were to go up to 4 basics and 23 lands, I will try 1 field, 1 GQ. I can see a lot of value of field over GQ even though it is slower. Hell, I still kinda wish I could go back to the 3 GQ. I did pick up a twilight mire finally so that gets a slot as well. Very excited for that card. Got an expedition of it and few other foils for my birthday so I'm slowly getting to full pimp threshold.

I've done some initial testing and so far I really like going up to 23 lands and adding couple more basics. Field of ruin has been excellent thus far with 4 basics. Although I will admit I'm far from any concrete truths, the getting a basic has been kinda huge allowing for either removal with revolt, discard, oath or a scooze activation combined with LD. It's a shame field doesn't really help me against a blood moon unless moon comes down late but that's where the 4 basics help I suppose. I also like having a wastes but maybe that's not necessary and could be something else at some point.

I like having access to wastes as Temple is such a huge target. Even fishing it out from a PtE knowing you can then curve into TKS/Smasher has been relevant.
I agree totally. Went by 3-1 again at fnm. Beat burn, 5 color humans then lost a super close one to affinity. Then proceeded to beat the Gerard Fabiano rug moon value deck that did well in the invitational. I managed to essentially dodge blood moon or discard it but the threat is always real. I have a bunch of cards in the mail, mostly foils but wasn't able to try out the new mana base. Have to take next week off sadly but I'm going to try and test against tron. I saw a lot in this most recent gp. That and titan shift did well and both are pretty bad. Shift especially. I dunno how much I can board for it, maybe it's just best to hope to dodge it. For reference, I'm going to bring this deck to gp Hartford in April and I find it hard to believe Either of those decks won't be a force by then. Hopefully, but we shall see.

Fun GB delerium "eldrazi" list on CFB. His summary pretty much sums up how I felt about the deck as well. Almost every game I was just wishing he was playing my version or something along those lines anyways. Not a fan of the delerium angle, or at least not a fan of Emrakul anyways. It pushes the deck into some weird mediocre inconsistent mashup. I do think there's room to play around with things like traverse but even then, it seems meh especially as something like a 4 of.
Good to see people playing something similar...too bad the video probably won't bring many people here
my thoughts for the deck are mainly SB musings. Basically how important is cage vs 4th leyline. Probably better to have leyline but I do need all the help I can against the rando coco/chord/snapcaster/souls decks. For now I'm going to try this. Betrayal has been sweet but I can see that getting cut as well. There are a multiple decks that have a hard time with it.
Other possibilities could be surgicals over leylines. I think this helps some matches but hurts others. Surgicals help me more vs scapeshift and potentially tron as I have so many dead cards anyways and I could try for the LD+surgical combo. It makes dredge much worse along with other random value decks that use the GY. hmm I may be talking myself into it.
Could always go 3/3 split with Reshaper / Scooze. Essentially sacrificing synergy/power for versatility to free up board space. The 4/2 split will be better vs Tron & Titan shift I imagine were the clock & board presence is more relevant.
went 3-1 and fnm again. It was a strange strange fnm so I don't really consider the results worthwhile other than I get experience playing.
r1 GW wnchantment pillowfort. i got t0 leyline of sanctity into t2 suppression field. The leyline was a minor inconvenience but the field just wrecked me. It's blatantly obvious this is a HORRIBLE match up for me. we played an extra game and the results were the same. I would put this at a 80-20 in their favor or worse. Was brutal. Thankfully this deck doesn't really exist outside fnm lol.
0-1
r2/r4 nykthos mono green genesis wave. I'm combining these 2 rounds together as they were very similar in their card choices. I wrecked both of these players in comical fashion although in r2 my opponent genesis wave for 4 then the next turn waved for 10....Thankfully he never found his craterhoof behemoth and I was slowly able to take over the board and win. Played a bunch more games for funsies and I won all of them.
2-1
r3 U/r as foretold living end. This is a similar list to the mono blue as foretold living end list except he was playing things like faithless looting over the sphinx. We both agreed at the end of the match it's not the right direction to go. Despite him drawing and cycling through so many cards it was still clunky. I did draw pretty well I can see this being a hard match with a well tuned list. Next time i think he's going to play mono blue and splash for maindeck blood moon which sounds amazingly gross.
3-1
SO i played against 3 nykthos decks...fun matches all around but It wasn't the greatest for legit testing. I still don't like a few of my SB choices. Maybe I'll cut 1 flaying tendrils for a second damnation. Decks with huge guys can be a big problem for me seeing as I only have pulse and maybe liliana to deal with them, push and decay being situational. I tries out 2 surgicals and wished every time they were leylines. For now it's fine as I still don't know how they will do vs something like tron which I'm far more afraid of. I have a long time till april for the GP to figure these things out. I wish I could build this online but goyf and liliana are too pricey for me currently. Maybe someday soon I'll suck it up and make the investment. mtgo always worries me.

Well 700 isn't bad honestly I'm assuming the majority of the price is in goyf and liliana which I personally could never do without. Ok that's not true, I do want to try a "budget" build with stranglers, stirrings, relics and such. I have some of the gb stuff already so maybe that's at least a good way to start.

Not running Goyf seems wrong, even with the Relics in play. Generally, I'm a fan of Discard over the mana dorks but I can see wanting to go the other way. T2 LotV has always been good and I bet a T4 End Bringer is good too. IF you can untap with it....
yeah, I honestly think Bearer of Silence is only there to "tutor" up with Ancient Stirrings if you really need the removal part of it. If not, then it just gets sorted to the bottom of your library and you never have see it.
What really strikes me is the inconsistency in terms of either a T1 bird or T1 Thoughtseize. Typically we see 6 of one or the other. There are the 6 1 drops so I think it's reasonable to expect to have a T1 play but 60% of the time it will be the bird. Is that what you want against 60% of the field? I just don't think so. Only 2 LotV minimizes what seems to me to be the best thing to use the bird for on T2, although I suppose TKS is good too.
So what's the curve supposed to be?
Bird, TKS, Smasher, Endbringer?
Sure, it's good but also seems really fragile to me.
So this isn't a BG list but Eric Frolich just wrote about a RG deck by Bsweitz that went 5-0. I don't really want to clutter up our thread with an off color list but the main deck is something like 10 cards off from Edel's list. Seems like the Green non-tron Eldrazi shell is getting locked down and the question is which color to pair it with. https://www.channelfireball.com/articles/deck-of-the-day-r-g-eldrazi-modern/
I'll admit I just nabbed a playset of Endbringers while they're stupid cheap just in case....
I don't really see the apeal of Red for the deck, L.Bolt isn't great at the moment and I've never liked Eldrazi Obligator
(an overcosted Spike Jester) and would even prefer Vile Redeemer/Vile Aggregate instead. Forked Bolt makes even less sense as a maindeck card imho.
Scooze is really good with Eternal Scourge that i wonder why they aren't paired in these decks.
And Relic seems like a better inclusion than Forked Bolt.
Talisman of Impulse probably works better than the mana dorks for this deck as it also provides colorless mana and is an Ancient Stirrings hit.
It isn't a turn 1 play like Birds though (Noble doesn't tap for Red and is pretty bad in RG imho).
I went 4-1 on Friday. Won't leave a huge tourney post. R1 and 2 were vs abzan and then sultai. Both similar matches. Only thing to do is match removal and hope to get out ahead. Outside of tasigur my threats line up better than theirs.

Can play Nihil spellbomb or leyline of the void in place of the relics like BG rock.
This list probably does work against midrange and has a solid control matchup but I think it needs more in the SB to beat combo and tron/Scapeshift
Wasteland Strangler or Eternal Scourge make more sense instead imho.
4x Endbringer seems a bit ambitious too.
Besides combo decks Burn alse seems like a rough matchup (unless you have a really fast draw to race them).

Red for Ancient Grudge and Crumble to Dust? The black disruption and removal seems much better. How does that red deck beat Storm?
What do you guys think of this new aura?
