I read about half of what was said before I just had to jump down here and add in my 2 rupies. First off every few blocks has some powerful mechanic that is modern playable. And yes while all these existed before the birth of modern you can see what I'm talking about. Affinity. The baseline aggro deck. It comes together to make something powerful.
Dredge - was nothing until certain cards were printed and was deemed too powerful for modern... Than proven correct.
Infect - while just the set it was printed in alone isn't the powerhouse we've seen, but other cards printed put it on the map.
Eldrazi - another "pushed" deck. But absolutely modern playable when you mix it with other sets.
All that to say yes decks that break modern can be printed.... This however is not the case. Could this be a thing? My source says no, but I do believe it's not really that far off. If built properly it could make an appearance here and there in the top 8s, but will take mad skills to piolet. (RB madness is a great example.)
So don't give up on this deck. It has potient all, but also will take time to refine.
Denis, I for one appreciate your advise. While not always 100 on point it does give insight. For that I want to say thank you and keep doing what you are doing.
I'm thinking on moving more on the plan of using soulflayer also as a cheap beater with nice abilities.
Because of that I'm even thinking on removing also the noose constrictor for collective brutality so we will have a way to discard vengevines from hand while being able to disrupt the opponent.
Also thinking on using uktabi drake in order to fill the graveyard while having another cheap creature that gives relevant abilities to soulflayer. Grapple of the past can be useful too with this plan
I like the idea of grim flayer and also increasing the number of damnations. They are really good in lot of cases.
Because we are playing indestructible guys (rhonas) and bouncing ones (rampagers) and recursive ones (vengevines) Damnation usually is as one sided removal. Also I think we should play some manlands in there to complement this plan. I was thinking in treetop village and Raging Ravine. Probably the first one would be much better because is cheaper to activate and can play well with rhonas also.
On the other side I'm thinking on increasing the number of lands to 21 because sometimes the deck needs more mana to function properly.
Troll should be at least good. Possibly/probably great. Set up for a turn 3 flayer with nasty abilities. Also it makes a pretty decent blocker and attacker in a pinch.
With him and the Satyr I wonder if that landfall guy that comes back would be a good addition.
did you mean bloodghast. Problem with it is that doesn't give any ability to soulflayer and also can't block. Anyways I could test them but not sure if they worthwhile bacause there is no synergy with the rest of the deck besides troll and satyr.
You can run Mishra's Bauble to help with adding artifacts. And it's a slowtrip. So that's works really well turn 1 to see your top card and decide if you should play the fetch or the other land to manipulate your draws. So adds value.
I've tested the deck yesterday against martyr -proc (the list saffron Olive played in mtggoldfish) because a friend of mine copied his deck and comes to my house to play.
I won seven of ten games against that deck so I was very happy and imppresed with ours. Anyways, I found some things to consider:
It's better to play only three Rhonas because ssometimes we don't have another four drop to beat with him.
Also I would love to play another monument and even another bond because both of them are great in this deck
We probably need more instants and even more ways to reach delirium if we try to go with the grim flayer route but although they are good I don't know if we should focus the deck on that.
Also in my testings you can even cast samut in turn 4 with the monument to more fun.

4 Rhonas the Indomitable
3 Samut, Voice of Dissent
4 Soulflayer
2 Rhonas's monument
2 elemental Bond
2 fatal push
2 Maestrom Pulse
2 Damnation
3 Dismember
4 Collective Brutality
What do you think??

On the other side I'm thinking on increasing the number of lands to 21 because sometimes the deck needs more mana to function properly.
So the list I'm going to try is the following:
4 Aether Hub
4 Verdant Catacombs
3 Wooded Foothills
3 Forest
1 Stomping ground
2 overgrown tomb
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
2 Treetop Village
1 Bojuka bog
4 Greenbelt Rampager
4 Satyr wayfinder
4 grim flayer
4 Vengevine
4 Rhonas the Indomitable
3 Samut, Voice of Dissent
4 Soulflayer
2 Rhonas's monument
2 elemental Bond
3 Damnation
3 Dismember
3 Collective Brutality
I like this idea and deck a lot. Don't understand why so many people are interested in this new concept.
Edit: Would lotleth troll would be good here
With him and the Satyr I wonder if that landfall guy that comes back would be a good addition.

I'm including Vessel of Nascency for that purpose although Mishra's Bauble (thanks megatog ) could be another good option too.
Right now mi list would be:
4 Aether Hub
4 Verdant Catacombs
3 Wooded Foothills
2 Forest
1 Stomping ground
2 overgrown tomb
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
2 Treetop Village
1 Bojuka bog
4 Greenbelt Rampager
4 Satyr wayfinder
4 grim flayer
4 Vengevine
3 Rhonas the Indomitable
3 Samut, Voice of Dissent
3 Soulflayer
2 Rhonas's monument
2 elemental Bond
3 Damnation
3 Dismember
3 Collective Brutality
3 Vessel of Nascency
What do you think?? I go with vessel because is another turn one play but grisly salvage could be another interesting tool too instead.
