Overview of the Deck
The concept of this deck is to exploit Ensoul Artifact and the new card Tezzeret's Touch by applying the enchantments to to evasive creatures or artifacts on the board. Then after a few attacks you can sacrifice your creature with a shrapnel blast for the win or use galvanic blast with metalcraft activated.
Guide to Playing the Deck
The Concept of the deck is very easy but this deck can attach a ensoul artifact on turn 1 and game could be over by turn 3. Surprisingly enough this has happened a few times.
I hope this primer will take off or people will notice this deck, so far it has played very well for me and I am still tinkering and acquiring some cards to play it at a FNM.
So I have been tinkering with the deck and have had some good results, I took out the ghostfire blade for crainal plating, took out walking ballista for hangerback walker and serums visions turned into stubborn denial. This is the current list I am running, I hope eventually this thread will gain traction
I think the problem you have here is the lack of CA as the artifacts wearing Ensoul or Touch will be target for removal. I think you need to consider Thoughtcast or Thirst for Knowledge or the new from AER draw 3 with improvise. Really like the concept and will be testing in the next days.
It seems you are describing an affinity list XD. I think that the Ensoul and Touch are the base of the deck. Ravager may be a good inclusion but Overseer just puts you in a midrange game that need ton of artifacts. I think the idea here is to bash with an enchanted artifact and then finish the game via direct dmg. That's why the full 8 blast may be necessary. I'm still on testing and the suggestions are appreciated, but if I do what you say why don't play affinity instead.
Steel Overseer is good with all the cheap 0-power artifacts (and manlands) to make them into threats and make targeted removal not as effective by going wide
(just removing the enchanted creature and leaving you without a an actual threat).
It is not even comparable to something like Hangarback Walker as it is miles better (they would actually work well together).
And yes, this is basically a weaker "Affinity" deck as it plays 80% the same cards without some of the better ones
(Ravager, Overseer, Inkmoth/Blinkmoth, Etched.C).

I am trying to make something different than a affinity deck and exploit the creature with enchantments. I know the concept with the arcbound ravager and overseer but like you said I am wanting more a of a direct damage with the added burn. I can see taking our the stubborn denials and maybe a land for the overseer.
I am curious how your playtesting goes? I really like the deck so far

the creatures you mentioned taking out are pretty amazing when with a turn 2 ensoul artifact swinging for 5 damage and a turn 2 swinging 5/5 flying lifelink is pretty nasty also. Signal pest is alright from play testing but I can see it being replaced. The one thing wrong with vehicles is that they are a little slow and a little hard to activate. A smuggler's copter ensoul would be pretty awesome.

So I playtested the deck alot last week, trying other cards to see what works. I will say I seem to be adding more and more affinity cards and wishing blood moon was main decked. I had blood moon in the side board and I would usually bring it in siding out tezerret's touch just because of the color issue. The deck is still fun to play which is why I came up with the idea but if I keep adding these more expensive cards to the deck, I might as well make a affinity deck with blood moons.
Hi Everyone, I came from affinity in modern then for the past 6 months I played a UB Tezzeret thopter foundry list but last week I wanted to try something more aggressive without the ensnaring bridge plan etc.. So I brew a bit but I came to a list with the same ideas as you did: Ensoul/Tezz touch small flyers or artifact for quick 5/5 with a Grixis Manabase. I build and tested the deck yesterday so first this is my list
So yes I still use Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas and the Thopter /sword combo, cause it was what I liked with the previous deck I played, but I wanted this new list to have a lot of different threats working together. Because Yes our opponents will often have a lot of removal for our 5/5 early game but putting a thopter /sword after they use them all it's quite great and it helped me a lot yesterday when I played against Burn. I won 2 games on 4 against a top tier deck with a "first sketch" of a deck so it seemed that there's something to do here.
Then Tezzeret has his -1 that is another ensoul if you need, but can dig for artifact if you need the using is let is always amazing. For me Tezzeret is the best modern legal Planeswalker, he is not played because he needs a deck build around him.
The Bomat Courrier was nice for being aggro but I am still not sure if he has to be the 4of of the deck. But still is ability is great cause turn 3-4-5 you often have 1 or 0 cards in hand so scarifying him for 4 cards is a good play.
I will remove the Master of Etherium cause he is not so great in this list and I believe there's a way to have more protection for our beloved 5/5 flyer. Welding Jar, maybe stubborn denial or I don't know.
I am Happy to find this thread here just when I try this deck so I can share my experiences. I will play test again today with some modification

How do you feel about the smuggler's copter? I feel like ornithopters can't be used in the same deck as smuggler's copter, that is why I am running memnite. Have you thought about the card Shrapnel Blast? It can make a deck pretty aggressive if need. I haven't tried out tezzeret the planeswalker but I can see trying him out in my list.
Oups I just realised I made a mistake and posted my list with 2 missing cards so it has 58. I forgot 1x spellskite and 1x Welding jar so this is what the first list should look like
But anyway I made some small changes...
About smuggler copter. I feel quite confortable with it along with 2 ornithopter and thus for some reasons. First I don't play 4 ornithopter so much board is not full of 0/2 creatures unable to crew it but instead 4x Bomat courrier that can. It allows me to crew him with the bomat if a want a 3/3 flyer that make me draw/discard instead of attacking with the bomat and exiling a card that I could draw later (I am talking here of course when nothing is ensouled).
Then ornithopter often helps for metal craft of just small blocker or even something free to sack with thopter foundry. So 2 ornithopter and 2 smuggler seems a good balance to me.
Bomat is amazing but I want other (flying) creature to become 5/5 so I can us is ability in turn 4 or 5 without losing a 5 power creature and draw a lot of cards. The deck is fast so is ability is full of value.
Againsi Tezzeret is great and have won me some games today.
This is the new deck I will play tomorrow with minor changes

I still have to think a good sideboard for the deck and more especially what to take out against certains deck but I think this will come naturally after more testing.
The manaBase has to be fixed too; there is too much black mana I should have like one or two more red/blue but for now I just did with the cards I had
Pia's révolution could be really good but in a list without thopter/sword I guess cause it ruins the combo I think ... I need confirmation here cause I don't know if the sword triggers first or if Pia does and the the sword would go in our hand ...

Card Choices
Creature - I would say the top creatures in the deck would be Signal Pest and Vault skirge, these cards can put your opponent in a tough spot.
Creatures I am still playtesting with: Hangarback Walker and Master of etherium
Spells - Both ensoul artifact and Tezzeret's touch are the heart of the deck but shrapnel blast is right behind them.
Lands - Darksteel citadel is pretty solid with the enchantment attached to it
Guide to Playing the Deck

God Hand:
Turn 1: Play a Darksteel Citadel, play ornithopter, drop Mox Opal, then tapping out to attach ensoul artifact to ornithopter
Turn 2: Draw, play a land, multiple option here, play another ensoul artifact, or swing putting your opponent to 10 -15 life
Turn 3: Draw, play a land, swing out or swing with one then shrapnel blast for the win.
This deck has been able to race with naya burn consistently then also with them taking damage from their shock lands, the game can go very quick.

I am still playtesting and working on the matchups.. I am also still tinkering with the deck, I can add your results or idea here.

I would add them over Hangarback Walker and Stubborn Denial.
Other good options are the "Affinity" regulars Etched Champion and Inkmoth Nexus.
The 4x Galvanic Blast + 4x Ensoul Artifact seem enough, cutting the "additional copies" in Shrapnel Blast and Tezzeret's Touch can free more slots to up the artifact count to take advantage of them.
You can also cut down on lands (to 17) and use lands like:
Glimmervoid, Blinkmoth Nexus, the new Spire of Industry and max out the number of Mox Opal and Springleaf Drum.

Glint-Nest Crane could be a nice CA tool aswell as Saheeli Rai.
Scrapheap Scrounger works pretty well as discard fodder to Smuggler's Copter or food for Shrapnel Blast.
Hangarback Walker and Walking Ballista are great to test as you mentioned.
You could even run Ghirapur Æther Grid..
I just wouldn't run Ornithopter, Signal Pest, Springleaf Drum and Vault Skirge...makes it feel to Affinity-like.
