-Would it be better to run the shock/fetch land base to allow for a single blue land?
-If you were to do the above, engineered explosives gets a lot better in comparison to ratchet bomb, which is already a crazy good card, and may be better in 2 color already. Note that you can play it for 1 through chalice if you pay 2 of the same color or add a colorless.
-If you were more concerned about mana consistency, what about buried ruin in place of academy ruins? it is also not legendary so you can run multiples, and creates card advantage with crucible unlike academy ruins. In a similar vein, I just discovered the card sequestered stash, which is interesting... a bit expensive though.
We can play around Path by never activating Inkmoth into white mana. When they are at 0 lands and plays a white source, we Ghost Quater it away, they float the white mana, we go to Beginning of Combat and their mana disappears, then we animate the Inkmoth.
Bloodmoon. Ugh.
Looks like a fun deck with potential. I'm gonna start testing it on Cockatrice.
Initial thoughts are, like other's mentioned, that the deck needs Inventor's Fair.
I also wonder if 23 lands are too much. I think around 19-20 should be fine.
Make sure you're being hyper specific if you do this in a tournament. You saying "go to combat" means that you're passing priority in your Beginning of Combat step and it's too late to activate nexus and also have it attack this turn.

I could see how Bauble could possibly be a better card. My reasoning for including it in the build was that it drops the hand fast for Infernal Tutor without losing card advantage, turns on early metalcraft, and draws a card. I could also see Buried Ruin as possibly better than Academy Ruins, although then to re-use it we'd have to use up a land drop, which means not using Ghost Quarter that turn. Sequestered Stash might also be good, as it basically acts as a sort of Ancient Stirrings, but it is mana intensive for the effect. With four Infernal Tutors, it may not be necessary.
Do you see any benefit to running Life from the Loam in this list? It could be a backup Crucible of Worlds for the Ghost Quarter plan. It seems all too greedy to depend on Crucible as the single way to recur lands in the deck, especially when we have another good card to do that. I know casting Life for the full 3 cards every time probably goes against what this deck wants to do (empty it's hand), but it still provides a way to get the Ghost Quarter lock plan going, recur Inkmoth Nexus if it dies, reuse Inventors' Fair or Academy Ruins, and maximum over-Collective Brutality every time.

A little while before Zac Elsik brought the deck into the light, GatheringMagic published a deck called Pixy Sticks, which was mostly mono black Lantern Control. Crucible Control, in the stage it is now, reminds me a lot of Pixy Sticks. I played Pixy Sticks a TON, and it had some problems, which I think could show up here. Problems like having multiple Infernal Tutors, not fully knowing what it wants to do with its mana, etc. I've tried to tune the list to fix these problems. Not quite sold on it, but here's the list. http://deck.tk/5P3w3VOC
I'm still not sold on Smallpox. I know we're using it to take them off land, but I think Inquisitions would be better in their place.
So you're advocating running Ancient Stirrings and Inquisition of Kozilek in the deck alongside Chalice of the Void? What number do you expect to set Chalice to in most games?
Upon sleeping on it, maybe make the Glint-Nest crane a 4 of, and Ancient Stirrings a 2 of. I would rather have more ways of finding Chalice, than getting some utility spells countered.
I could see Boom/Bust being good. When I first started brewing, and was talking with mikemaz, he suggested it too. The only reason I started testing Smallpox first was that it was able to take out creatures as well, and I was looking at decks like Infect and Burn. But you might be right, in that Boom//Bust would be better. It's not only good with Darksteel Citadel, but with Ghost Quarter as well, in that we can target our own Quarter, hold priority, and sac Quarter to take out an opp's land. This does mean we'd have to change the manabase a little bit to facilitate red, but at that point there's little to no reason to not run Glimmervoid.
@Sevenworlds, you're not being a pain at all I'm absolutely open to suggestions, and would encourage anyone to test whatever they want, really I tend to try to only use data in order to verify if a card is objectively good, but I have no problems when people want to try new things
That said, I could see Syphon Life doing cool stuffs. I think the hardest part would be getting drawing into it, but we could run a single thanks to the Infernal Tutors. It could be very good as a singleton in the sideboard, too.
I'm playtesting UB with 1 sword and 3 foundries and I'm liking it. I mirrored the mana base to blue but I think I want a little more colored lands to smallpox better. I also cut crucible down to 1 but I've decided that feels really bad since it hurts so much to smallpox on 3 lands without it.

Beginning of Attack*. Online you can go to combat, and you still have time to activate. In real life, it's impossible to actually go to combat unless you have a triggered ability at the start of combat. When you say "Go to combat" you're actually going to declare attacks unless your opponent stops you, which you correctly said means you can't activate before attacking after saying that.
Play a singleton Raven's Crime it's discard is awesome and you have a way to play the lands out of the graveyard. Keeping their hand empty also keeps them from having answers to Nexi.
Cranial Plating could speed up wins. You can equip it at instant speed under a Ensnaring Bridge.
A singleton Gibbering Descent might be the real answer. You can probably cast it for madness in your deck off something like Liliana. It will eventually kill opponents and helps eliminate their hand.
There is the new enchantment that makes 1/1 lifelink vampires. You have to discard a card to make the token but you want to empty your hand with a Bridge down.

Yeah, that's why I had the Inkmoth Nexus in the deck. We only have to be careful not to let it get Path'd. Otherwise, even if they kill it, we can simply keep bringing it back.
I'm assuming those matchups are the ones you played against in the League? Also, nice I'm extremely happy that you did well, and I look forward to any more info and feedback

Idk if it's worth it, but you could try Stensia Bloodhall in place of Inkmoth. It's the same clock and it doesn't die to Path. I used to run one in one of my janky old Lantern builds.

Has anyone tried going heavier on blue for whir of invention? Some of the lantern lists with whir have been doing well. Lets us run a few more silver bullets in the 75 as well.

I love deadlines, I love the wooshing sound they make as they fly by.
I'm really wishing I would've taken this deck to the GP in Vegas right now. Against the field I'm seeing of all grixis shadow and eldrazi Tron it seems real strong.
