Just put this deck together last week and played my first games at Monday Modern with it last night. Went 2-2 and it felt great.
Round 1: Mardu Pyromancer, win 2-0. Was on the draw with Caverns into Temple for a turn 1 Chalice, which slowed down the interaction until he hit Kolaghan's Command with it. Then crushed with Seer and Smoosher for a win on turn 4 or 5. Game 2 was largely the same.
Round 2: KCI, lose 0-2. This was against a very good player on a deck he's been on for a year now. I almost got there game 1, but game 2 I got chumped by Thopter Foundry and eventually he went off. May have misplayed by Serum Powdering a hand with my 1-of Surgical Extraction, and never saw Relic. Maybe I ought to have mulled to it? I went to 6 and had plenty of pressure and 4 Relics left in the deck, but maybe that's not good enough.
Round 3: Tooth and Nail, win 2-0. This was against Rob Leva, original builder of 8-Rack. Absolutely crushed this deck with an early Dismember each game followed by Scourge, Seer, Smoosher. Over in about 4 turns each. Felt great.
Round 4: Jeskai, lose 0-2. This was against another very good player whom I've crushed on my previous deck. I had read Jordan's article on the control matchups and tried to keep it all in mind, but it's one thing to say that Teferi isn't a big deal because of your Reality Smashers, and another to actually draw and resolve it. Game 2, I Powdered 3 hands away and mulled to 4, keeping 2 lands, Relic, and a Scourge. Probably not enough.
Deck felt great and the games I lost felt like a more experienced pilot could've found winning lines.
KCI: don't need a Relic or Surgical necessarily. Mimic into TKS will do it too. Just need a hand with the right combination of proactivity and disruption. This MU is pretty easy because our hate is so powerful and we have a strong Plan A. Watch out for EE killing Chalice on 1. Good to have a second on 0.
Jeskai: Generally Temple + Scourge alone is lights out for this deck, especially after sideboarding (Relics). How did he stabilize past the Scourge?
the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.
What’s protocol against Amulet Titan? Is it just bad like the Valakut matchup? Chalice on 1 shuts off Amulet, Stirrings, etc., but on 0 shuts off Pact. The deck just can’t beat a Titan.
Titan is better them wurmcoil. You have a small Chance to kill Titan with attacking/blocking creature + dismember. By the way, they often Side out amulet vs. Chalice Decks or Decks with a lot of artefact destruction. I know, hard to believe but i read sometimes primer of them for fun and watched streams in the past ...maybe it is a minority, i am no expert but dont be surprised not seeing amulet after side

For KCI, it was a combination of probably not having enough experience with the deck to really know mulligans inside and out, and also playing against a really legit player who's been on that deck forever. He also plays 3 maindeck Thopter Foundry, which churns out as many chump blockers as he wants, so the normal clock gets slowed down a ton. Without that, especially game 2, he's dead in 5 turns.
For Jeskai, Search and Teferi just ground out the Scourge. I think I was at the receiving end of 3 Cryptic Commands in game 2, which was a mull to 4 with only a single Scourge in exile and no Temple. I just wasn't comfortable going below four.
Really though, the issue is that the 4 matches I played Monday were literally my first games with this deck. I'm also a slow study and learn best by getting my teeth kicked in.

Recently bought into this deck on MTGO, and am having a great time with it. Thanks ashtonkutcher for all of the great research and resources. The deck feel...fundamentally unfair, which is a great sign for its overall power level. Getting byes against burn is amazing, especially in the online meta. However, I have been struggling with Ensnaring Bridge/Prison decks. Has anyone had success against these types of decks? Ratchet Bomb is slow enough that the opponent always seems to find an answer in time.
Second week with the deck and I ran into two pretty brutal matchups. Went 1-3, beating Wizards handily, losing to Burn in a situation where he had to topdeck exactly Rift Bolt for the win, and he did. But the two bad matchups were Bant Eldrazi and Red Prison. Won quickly against Bant in one game, but mulled to oblivion in one of the sideboard games and also struggled with Displacer. And Ensnaring Bridge is just brutal for this deck.

4x Bomb for Bridge decks. It's mostly threatening when they have something like Needle/Jar/Stony to shut down Bomb, or Abrade/Kolaghan's to destroy it. Latern has the scariest Bridges.
Bant is very difficult to beat but almost completely absent from the metagame. Chalice on 1 is a must here even though it feels bad.

And we will beat it in the future too, so 3 wastes is important now. I play it since UW is on the rise (even with 4 endless one) with 4 ruin and 4 path...now another reason with abzan, jund and rock coming up in the next months. We should not be greedy.
I'm already on 3 Wastes due to lots of Path, Field, and Blood Moon locally. Added a Relic mainboard in place of the second Copter to have the extra graveyard interaction and cycling.
With Trophy, I can see even 3 basics not being enough in some metas. But we'll find out.

Or we should all play to our preferences I have tested the 3rd Wastes and feel similarly about it as I do Cavern of Souls---I think it's a crutch for Path/Field matchups. These are already fine if you play properly, whereas trimming our utility lands hurts us in more tangible ways elsewhere (Grounds vs. Goyf decks/combo; manlands vs. big mana/combo; Void vs. everything; etc.). To restate, the 2nd Grounds will almost certainly remain better than another Wastes against decks that play Trophy.

Jordan, I'm interested in what caused you to go to 2 Copters, as I recall you were a pretty staunch proponent of only wanting one... maybe that's misremembering though.

My New list https://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=20081&d=330451&f=MO ...was in top 8 but my driver need to go home, so i was forced to play really fast (he would drive without me) and lost my way to semifinals because forgetting to use removal (if not winning next turn). A lot of hardened and humans now
I have no room for void and i dont need it because no empty draws for me (more creatures and more draws because relic). Sometimes i win with still lots of creatures in Hand, so i dont need to filter cards for treds ( hope tred is a right english word?). Tectonic is great vs. Tron and control and valacut...you need 5 mana for o stone activation? Sorry no! 5 teferi? Hell no! Primeeval? Go on, no ! But with chalice build void is better

Went 2-1-1 tonight, beating Elves and Skred Dragons, drawing against a slow Jeskai player (but I repeat myself), and losing to Nykthos Red with Demigod of Revenge (?).
Double Ratchet Bomb plus Dismember is really good postboard against Elves. Especially when they keep a one-lander and get stuck for two turns.
Skred is a little tough because Chandra is so good. I stuck a second Spyglass in my board and am very glad I did.
Jeskai felt okay, but I'm pretty convinced of running a 3rd basic now. I've gone back and forth, but it sucked having a Wastes in the opener knowing I was going to eat Path and Settle the Wreckage for no drawback. I will say that Copter felt pretty good here and I'm glad I'm back on 2. We ended up going to time, although I was in the driver's seat when we ran out of turns.
I had no idea what the Demigod deck was doing. Humble Defector, Spitemare, Boros Reckoner, Blasphemous Act, Demigod of Revenge. Didn't feel like a particularly good matchup.

Hey guys, played today on ESA (Eternal Serias Aalen). It is the third time i was there and after winning the last ones (35 player and 28), all was excited how i play this time and i was well known. This time 38 player showed.
Match 1 vs. Living end i beat 2:1. Missplayed and lost first game even with 3 relics, but game 2 and 3 i win with Chalice (from sideboard in) and relics.
Second match 8 whack 2:0. Nothing to say. I was bigger game 1 and ratchet game 2 for gg
Match 3 vs. Scapeshift 0:2. I think i lost anyway, but used to early my surgical in game 2
Match 4 vs. BG Eldrazi 2:0 with relics main and ooze. More Power, more Dismember for me take this match
Match 5 vs. Pyromancer 2:1. Relic main and scourge for the win. Smasher finished it
Match 6 vs. UW Luckminus. Game 1 grindy win for me. Game 2 he goes down to 5 cards but topdeck Terminus rescued him. Game 3 i won and he was very salty and crying he could beat me easy with land number 5 but he wouldnt show me why. I think he had his Lifelink Angel/Demon but my dismember still was in hand. Even then he would lost.
So i finished 5:1 like 3 others and was place 4 (grrrrr, this opponent score). It was possible to be again place 1, but maybe it was better. Winning again is to much attention (3 times of 3 days place 1)... and i heared someone saying i maybe cheat and i dont like this words, because i am a very fair player allways. I even help my opponents, so i lost 1 game vs. Pyromancer maybe because of this. My List will come again in the next days. Overall now 18 (17?) games on ESA and only 2 times i lost my match.
Congratulations on the finishes. I'm curious why you're running Relics in the main and Chalices in the sideboard. Now that Dredge is largely gone, it seems like Chalice is just the better call most of the time.
Not sure if any of you saw this, but Chalice of the Void is getting a new online-only promo with Seb McKinnon's sick new art:
I hope this gets a paper printing soon. And I've been toying with the idea of getting MTGO anyway, just to step up my game, and getting to play this art of this card might just put me over the edge.

Because relic Main means More pressure. More room for creatures, more draws. Why i should try to protect them with chalice, if i can put more of them instead? I have more succes without. I dont use chalice in 75 normaly, but in my top 8 ptq last week i lost to hardened scales (they was everywhere) so i was frightened a little and put it in my side
