a deck that is based around the idea of using the Brine Elemental morph ability with the Vesuvan Shapeshifter which causing your opponent to keep missing there untap stage. as well as doing this I also have the card hand of binding to effectively do the same thing to a creature using another creature which out of the creatures I use can do so safely. to speed up the game for me so I can get my combo out I use Think Twice to draw cards and Dreadship Reef to create more mana quickly. Using Ovinize,Mana Leak and Dissolve to protect myself until I can get the combo out.
Once I get the cards I need out I just attack with what creatures I have on the board and keep the combo going with two mana every turn.
Not to be a downer, but it is probably just too slow for Modern. It was a great combo in Standard for a time. Just about everyone missed the combo. If I remember right, the WotC staff actually had to point it out because nobody was seeing it. They actually waited a couple of months before finally revealing the combo.
Anyway, it is a fun deck for casual, but not a deck that will cut it at the tournament tables. Fun idea though.
Can you think of a way to make it fast enough for modern or any general tips? I just started playing Modern.
The are a lot of factors that limit the decks possible in Modern. If classic control was a thing, it might be possible. However, there are so many decks that will kill you before you have cast your first spell.
If you are new to modern, my advice is to watch some archive footage from recent big events. There's ton of stuff on youtube. You can also watch modern events through twitch on the weekend.
The best thing you could do is proxy up some of the more popular decks and play games against yourself. It is a great way to understand those decks. It isn't supposed to replace regular Magic. Rather it is a great way to learn. Proxy decks are also good way to test new ideas out against.
I'm definitely not trying to poo poo on your need to brew. I am simply saying this from experience that your idea is strong, but we just don't have the tools in the format to make it happen.
