For those who throw down with this deck how often have you wished that you had an instant board wipe? I say this because there are some fast Aggro decks out there. The fastest being Gobots and Small Zoo followed by Robots. Literally on turn two you could have a BTE into a HH into a BTE a Reckless Bushwhacker for 14 damage if they dropped a creature a turn prior.
Tron is tough for the deck...not impossible, but a tough draw. Chalice on 1 to stop their search for lands, Moon to Slow them down, then the key is the win condition, which is why we've experimented with Rabblemaster in the main. In a Tron heavy Meta, I think it works well...in an unknown or Tron light, I think leaving him in the SB is viable.
Have a friend playing no the deck this weekend while I'm out of town. Any thoughts on Trinisphere in the MD as a 1 of?
I think it depends on what version of tron.
GR and GW are better for us than mono blue or BG.

Agree with Pokerkingdave: I typically win against / x Tron. However, / x Tron is a *****er. / x control is also on the tougher side, but it comes down to bringing down your desperate ritual count and bringing in more pressure plays from the sideboard....and, ricochet trap as a 1-of has been tremendous.
@SpecOps: It was the small zoo matchups that had me abandoning my TURBO Prison idea. You gotta have some removal answers when you can't bridge down fast enough, but overall, I have these matchups as a positive matchup: Bridge / Moon / Chalice all come into play and then you just add some sweepers from the SB and you're disco. I can't wait for Sweltering Suns!!!!!
I never played it with this deck.
Blue tron is pretty good against eldrazi tron though.

8 packs of Amonkhet for the effort, and my top win record throughout April's FNMs at my LGS earned me entry into an in-store, year end, invite-only 1K event at TJ's Collectibles in Milford, MA. HooooMama. The store (alongside Cambridge's Pandemonium) hosts the largest tournaments in the Northeast (outside of Wizards and SCG), so it's kind of a big deal around here. Let's just say, I have many leatherbound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
I opened with a loss to mono-green Elves-Stompy. Good Koth almighty, really!? I bridged her in G1, kept a silly hand and lost in G2 (beware the the temptation to keep subpar hands with gemstone cavern just because you start the game with a free land in play), and then in G3 she smashed three onboard bridges, on the same turn, with back-to-back Acidic Slime, Acidic Slime, Reclamation Sage, and attacked for a couple hundred.
Wins that followed were against Abzan Melira-Coco, Grixis Deathshadow, and U/R Delver-Control. Alllll of these matchups range into the difficult column for us, but sideboard adjustments coupled with astute play....have I mentioned my collection of leatherbound books?
Scattered thoughts: Goblin Rabblemaster in the main seems increasingly positive. Blood Moon continues to win games outright, and I'm pretty stuck on my mix of 5 in MD and 1 in SB with 4 SSG and 4 Rituals as the lone accelerators: no need for pyretic ritual nor mind stone. That 3-cmc slot sure is crowded, but I'm still optimistic about adding a couple sweltering suns...or should I do a 1/1 split with ratchet bomb? And, tormenting voice vs. magma jet counts are a puzzle to me, since lightning bolt continues to spiral into obscurity in the current meta. Overall - very pleased, though. We're looking good.
Whoot whoot! Congratulations! Did anyone ever say you read as if Deadpool wrote your paragraphs. lol I think you should change your avatar. Plus, this is Mono Red Control and Deadpool is wearing his red pants - match made in heaven. lol For your high damage board wipe a few cards come to mind: Slagstorm, Sweltering Suns, Nahiri's Wrath, Sulfurous Blast, and Pyrohemia. What are your thoughts on these? And, I hope that the VPN service I just purchased will boost my speeds so I can finally play MTGO and field test this and other decks.
@spec.ops: Ha! Deadpool....dude, how hilarious was Ryan Reynolds in the film - high praise, thx.
@valleysdai: 1st time out on the race track, and you pulled down a winning record. Good on ya! And, as you noted, your decklist is certainly the most unique one posted here. Let us know if any of your spice starts to gain heavy traction.
In the Official Primer, I laid out a 'core list' of cards for our archetype. Look good? I was careful to avoid any dedicated removal spells. Our options are so diverse that I don't believe that there are any must cards. Currently, I have (2) Sweltering Suns, (1) Magma Jet, (1) Ratchet Bomb.
Although it seems unorthodox, I'm still running (4) Mishra's Bauble. If I dropped them, then it would increase my land count by 1 alongside more Magma Jet, a single Tormenting Voice, and a 2nd Koth of the Hammer. Hmmmm...which one is better? Which one?
People were asking about 'eldrazi tron', you're real enemy in that matchup is time. Don't durdle. As for real time threats, Walking Ballista. It is a pissah, but I still consider it as a favorable matchup since we're shutting off their land power-ups.
Sun Droplet is undoubtedly my 75th card. It's been in and out of my deck for ages. I despise the narrow application of the card: Burn and Zoo are the only times it's included. I'm moving away from easy Burn win cards, so give me any other suggestion, and I'll take it. Anything. I beg of you, Caligula.......What's that? Hill Giant? Done. In. To Battle!!!!!
Aah, the 75th slot. Sun Droplet is a great idea if you see alot of burn at your LGS.. I would imagine mono-red burn could be tough without some droplets, although that's awefully specific.
Alot of Abzan shenanigans? Torpor orb dresses for gameday.
Better yet! Have you guys discussed Defense Grid? If you did I must have missed it, but it's an interesting #75
Give me your "manly" droplet. Come on, hand me your chest pebble Fabio. [throws it over shoulder] Here. Let's replace that LED with something even Ironman would be proud of. [hands him Witchbane Orb] Stop! Do not lick it you scamp. Jeeeze I got to watch you like a hawk. lol It might make you into a nice guy and can't have that. Its made of strong anti-crazy girl magic. No longer can Vess, and we know how much she likes you, divide your estate in the divorce. But, you might still want to still pick up your stuff in the yard my friend. lol And, you no longer have to deal with hot things being thrown at you like flaming credit cards. Thanks Chandra! Do you know how much those foil chalices cost?! All you got to do is hang it on your car mirror. Presto! Hex Proof. Now give me five dollars. I need some fancy coffee.
First tournament with the deck. 30 players Monthly Win a Box. Missed the top8 an inch (1 game) - ended on 9th. Made few mistakes, but the deck performed pretty well and is a solid choice these days.
Round 1 VS Mikhail (last month's winner) Bant Eldrazi 2:1
G1 - early Skyspawner, then Thought-Knot then another - LOST
G2 - slow hand but I suspect I can drop my Moon before he steals it with Seer. He goes with Hierarch but I burn it with Magma Jet, drop Moon next turn, then Koth, he scoops - WON
G3 - mull to 5 gets me a weak hand but I risk it - Moon, 3 lands and Ritual. I keep and scry - wow a Monkey. Drop Moon t2, then slowly roll over him with Chandra and Koth - WON
Round 2 VS ? UR Storm 2:1
G1 - he comboes t4 - LOST
G2 - t1 Chalice for 1 slows him down, he managed to get 14 gobbo tokens, but dies next turn due to Chandra's emblem and Magma Jet and another spell - WON
G3 - Cavern, Mountain, Chalice on 1, t2 Chalice on 2, he beats me with Baral and two Gobbo tokens, but I jet one of them, Koth enters and starts a hammering - WON
Round 3 VS Aiden (UWR Nahiri Control) 0:2
G1 - he bolts my Magus, counters my Moons, drops Saheeli and Cat and goes infinite - LOST
G2 - pretty much the same, pte on Revoker, counters Moons and Chalices, I drop two Bridges, Chandra gets countered and he drops Ajani and kills me soon
Round 4 VS ? (Burn)
G1 - early Chalice on 1, burn the Guide, on 6 life but then Chalice on 2 and beatdown with Pia and Kiran and their toys - WON
G2 - Dragons Claw, then Chalice on 1, he destructs the Chalice but life gain from Claw keeps me safe, Chandra and Koth for the win - WON
8th before final round - I reckon that guy behind me can jump me over if he wins so decide to play.
Round 5 VS Josh (Scapeshift)
G1 - I drop Chalice on 1, then Bridge and lose badly to casted Titan to Scapeshift after drawing lands only - LOST
G2 - I face a game loss for dropping Cavern t0 while on the play (damn stupid italian card),but end up losing anyway, not drawing anything serious - LOST
The guy who was behind me lost and his opponent jumps me over. If I would have taken id I would reach top. Who knew. Oh well.
THOUGHTS:
- MVP's - most of the deck performed pretty well, but Chalice and Moon are backbreaking for most of the decks. Caverns t0 are awesome just have to remember the on the draw rule. both planeswalkers are a solid threat. Jet sets scry nicely, Voice works, Monkey and Ritual speed it up, Bridge and Parents hold the hordes at bay.
- losers - 1) Slagstorm - never casted it the player option is barely relevant since we are usually on lower life. Will get replaced by Sweltering Suns.
2) Walking Ballista - needs 4 mana to be 2/2 and dies to everything - pretty dissapointing. I always prayed for Mom and Dad or something else. Will be replaced by Hazoret. Need a solid mana sinker so may try Raystacks Dragonlord ;-)
SB - Didnt have a chance to use Rabblemaster. Played it twice then died soon. CLaw fought Burn really well. Orb would be great if I could find it so probably will add one more. Didn't use Sprees and Cage.
Deck got a lot of attention and it is really great to play. Keep' em burning.
Unfortunately my buddy didn't fair well with the deck yesterday, going 2-2 drop for the day in a 84 player/ 7 round qualifier for the Invitational here in Columbus OH.
His recap to me was brief, beating RG Scapeshift, loosing to Affinity, beating Jund in a tight match, then loosing to Jund in a close 3 game match. Said the deck felt good in the metagame, just didn't draw the right pieces when needed. He had gone back to the creatureless version, running the Rabblemasters in the side...when I talk to him I'll see if he feels they should stay there or not based on his experience.
I'm hoping to get more practice with the deck in coming weeks as well as look at Standard now that there is some info on the new metagame. Don't want to play Mardu, so need to see what happens in knocking that deck down a peg or two.

Thread Name Change: Pyro Prison. Let it be known that Caligula has crafted a succinct and fitting title for our deck - a tribute to the efforts of us Mountainfolk.
Ultimately, RED Prison looks better in print than it sounds in conversation. The title was amorphous. It came off as a nod to the concept, but not a as a specific brand. You can't capitalize RED in speech, so it plays out as if we're saying that we play "a" red prison deck, not "this" red prison deck.
So, in honor of Caligula, I highlight post #309 by poet laureate, Spec.Ops. I had to read it a few times to puzzle together what's being said. It's fan fiction for Pyro Prison! If it could be performed as spoken word, it'd be even more impactful. I love it.

I was trying to add some laughs to my suggestion of using witchbane orb over sun droplet. Fail. lol But, orb seems to be a better choice over droplet due to hex proof we are immune to typical burn spells and targeted abilities i.e. planswalkers.

As for the 'in/out' section of sideboarding that was requested by a couple people, I will kick that idea around - feels like a little too 'paint by numbers' to me.
The paint by numbers doesn't bother me at all to be honest. I just want the most information possible that's available in order to produce the best result with our deck. It feels weird calling ourselves a sideboard deck and then having insufficient sideboard information. I will work on a template for our sideboard given the information that we currently have.

The sideboard info. seems sufficient to me: One portion lists commonly used sideboard cards with descriptions & another section lists out sideboard cards commonly brought in against certain deck types. But, if you'd like to contribute some more info., I'm totally welcoming. Vegita, The main deck is 'the sideboard deck'. It is born of cards normally found in other people's sideboard - which I know you know. So, I wouldn't describe our deck as one that showcases the premier tech in the world of sideboarding. We're already doing that in our 60.
The tit-for-tat swap outs are too 'paint by numbers'. First, unlike other decks, we don't have a fixed core that fills up nearly all of our spells' slots. I play (4) Goblin Rabblemaster in the main and some folks don't play any. I can write out what I do in very specific matchups, but that's not helpful for everyone else. Also, what I do this month is different from last month or the next. Lastly, I prefer a certain untold mystery in the dance between 60 and 15. That's where the art is created: putting paintbrush to canvas.
@Amok: Looked over your decklist, and 1 thing that stood out: Lands. You've got the (20) mountains and (2) gemstone caverns, but stopped there. I've gone as low as (17) mountains, and still have never run into a problem on a mana-screw. Even if you only went down to (18) mountains, that could free up 2 slots for:
Mutavault: Obvious friend to Goblin Rabblemaster and a very surprising asset. Many decks, like Tron & blue control, can't deal with manlands. So, I hit when I can - often turn 2 - and, albeit rarely, when I can sense that blue is hold mana leaks and remands for my planeswalkers, I resort to bopping them in the face.
Tectonic Edge: I don't like ghost quarter since you end up assisting your opponent in locating their basic lands, but Edge can knock a player off their rhythm at times, and other times...it's pretty much just as good as a mountain.
Scrying Sheets: Sure, the odds are low [18 out of 60] and it'll most likely be shaded by a cherry moon, but...I'm saying there's a chance.
Other thoughts for Amokand anyone else:
-- The full playset of Chandra, Torch of Defiance? Overkill? Did you find that her appearance rate was too high?
-- Volcanic Fallout, eh? I wonder if Pyroclasm (especially since it costs 2 might be better against the ultra-fast zoo/swarm decks).
-- Hazoret the Fervent. Oh My God!!! Somebody get this sonofa***** out on the battlefield and report back with results.

Will have to look into this...didn't see anything over the weekend at the SCG Classic this weekend...is there a list somewhere?
Patrick Sullivan's red deck
Modern - GW Tron
Modern - Mono G Tron
Modern - RWg Burn
Commander - Yisan, The Wanderer Bard cEDH build
Commander - Edric, Spymaster of Trest - Budget/Casual list - complete
Commander - Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis - $35 Budget upgrade
Commander - Edgar Markov - $150 upgrade
The paint by numbers doesn't bother me at all to be honest. I just want the most information possible that's available in order to produce the best result with our deck. It feels weird calling ourselves a sideboard deck and then having insufficient sideboard information. I will work on a template for our sideboard given the information that we currently have.

Other thoughts for Amok and anyone else:
-- The full playset of Chandra, Torch of Defiance? Overkill? Did you find that her appearance rate was too high?
-- Volcanic Fallout, eh? I wonder if Pyroclasm (especially since it costs 2 might be better against the ultra-fast zoo/swarm decks).
-- Hazoret the Fervent. Oh My God!!! Somebody get this sonofa***** out on the battlefield and report back with results.
