Modern Horizons shouldn't break the format. The power level of the new cards introduced aren't breathtaking. And they have plenty of slots. With that being said, is there something old that we could take advantage of? or Maybe some new allies. It would be interesting since BFZ block introduced only overwealming allies. 3 playables, one being SB card and the other a savannah lion.
it would be nice if the product raised the power level of fringe decks instead of estabilished ones

Well..... its not likely that we get any actual allies but if the set can somehow make more interaction viable in modern it will potentially hurt some of the T3 win decks that are running about. Allies need more interaction in the 1-3 mana range than they do right now which is sort of their weakness. Allies are really good against aggro, burn, and midrange creature decks and tend to be weaker to fast combo and control archetypes. If you were to slow down the combo decks or make them worse due to some new control mechanic it would go far in trimming the amount of combo encountered on average.
If something could hinder the amount of Infect, Tron, Storm, Devoted Druid, Ad Naus, etc decks in the meta then yes, allies would probably get stronger. I don't think I can name any card that currently exists that offhand would be a slam dunk in this deck but that is also not me overly looking into it other than just thinking about sweet legacy cards that do see play. What the format needs is something to slow it down but thats a tall order considering how many varying tactics there are and how hard it is for control to interact with every type of deck (which is why control kind of sucks right now).

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I don't see a way how there should be any Ally specific reprints in a new set with 256ish cards. Maybe there will be reprints that help tribals in general, but I would be cautious to print anything that helps Spirits or merfolk. March from the Tomb would have been neat if it weren't Ally specific on the other hand.

My decks:
Competetive: Lantern Control, MonoR Phoenix, Dredge
Meta-Dependant: Modern Cheeri0s, Esper Spirits, Wilderness Teachings , Modern Elves, All-in Death's Shadow, Aristocrats, BW Death&Taxes
Fun own projects: Spireside Industries, UB Scrapyard, Thundercat Worship, Dirty Kitten, RB Rock, Eternal Toolbox
Since changeling is a theme there is a bunch of hope in getting to play something better than a Savannah Lion!
"stepmom" is a Kor Cleric. really wish the word ally was there somewhere, would make sense and have minimal impact
The fact that we have changelings in this set is kind of a big deal and yea if we can get something better than the 2/1 for W it would be HUGE for allies. I am not sure where I am at on expecting something like it but a new one drop is probably the biggest thing we can ask for out of the changelings. I guess I could be greedy and ask for some crazy amazing 2-3 drop changeling as well but I don't know if thats more or less likely than something that beats savanah lion.
A strong one drop is definately my first objective but I guess if they want to give some sort of changeling that is cheap with a control effect I would take that too
