This saturday I went 3-1-1 with my Soulflayer deck and finished 3/21. (2 boosters and Misty Rainforest)
1.round vs GDS 2:0
2. round vs Jeskai Control 2:1
3. round vs UW Control 1:1
4. round vs Mardu Pyromancer 1:2
5. round vs WB Tokens 2:0
There were people who were running Gifted Aetherborn on the theory they could apply some early pressure as legit drops and then be good Soulflayer mulch once the opponent eventually put it out of its misery. It showed up in some reported 5-0 builds for a time.
From that perspective, is Banehound at all on anyone's radar? Seems to have a similar plan - it's a nuisance hardcastable early, it won't likely live long, and it has a pair of keywords we really like.
Banehound is pretty good, but it doesn’t help to enable Traverse like Bomat Courier.

Always wear protection kids, sleeve up your deck.
LEGACY: Soldier Stompy WW // Blue Stompy UU // Fit Variants BGRW // Sol Land Brews BGRUWC MODERN: Pure Pili-ness GU // Red Devotion RR // Green Devotion Variants GRWUG // U/G Emerge CGU // Lots and Lots of Brews BGRUWC
This deck is too light on card types for Traverse. I would replace Samut with Bomat Courier. The only think I like about this list is the Nightveil Predator. It could be that I should cut my 4x Carny T’s (which I play instead of Caryatid because I never cast Caryatid anyways), for Nightveil since it gives flying.

Actually, Incubation // Incongruity provides sorcery and instant by itself, which is better at providing delirium than Bomat Courier. For example, if the only card in graveyard was land, creature, and Bomat, it wouldn't provide delirium. But if it was land, creature and Incubation // Incongruity, it will provide deliruim. What I want to say is, due to abundance of creature spells it better to have a hybrid sorcery/instant card than artifact/creature card.
Oh I didn’t realize that. It’s also nice that you have some removal in the main, though usually that’s not necessary in this deck, but it still seems too expensive. This deck is trying to win fast.
I like this version better than your Dross version, and I think you’re getting close the the optimal configurement, but I’m not sure it’s quite there yet. I’ll have to think about it more.
I would rather play Reunion or Brutality over Incubation, which would require a different creature composition than your deck in order to ensure delirium.

Hello guys, any thoughts on the new reprint cards Eladamri's call on Modern Horizon, thus splashing white now will do any any good just to use this card?
If we want flying haste and red, Flamewake Phoenix has those keywords, is a much more viable hardcast, and also alternatively provides eventual value if it gets discarded by one of our discard spells (and we delve other things to our soulflayer)
Here me out guys, the new card hogaak, the arisen.. i think it fits well in the soulflayer deck. With a little adjustment by adding another creature type in the deck like banehound and adding 2 or 3 hogaak. And by playing banehound and troll we can now cast easily hogaak if we cant combo off with soulflayer, i might try this once i pick up hogaak.
I was about to come in here and mention the new Avatar as well. The synergy is there, he just needs some creatures on board and plenty of fuel in yard to make him an option. He is worth testing at least.

@Bile
I used to play Flamewake Phoenix so maybe I’ll try the dragon instead in that same build and see which is better. I’d be nice to have an additional 4/4 attacker ideally around turn 3~4 which is possible.
@Ther03
I was thinking Hagook might be good in a soulvine build. Hagook needs at least 2 creatures in play and that what soulvine is good at providing. It can be cast as a 0 mana creature from hand or graveyard so it’ll also help trigger vengevine too.

Great result! Are you using Rotting Regisaur?
I like London Mulligan too, it been helping me a lot.
However, there are three main reason I've been struggling these days.
1. Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis
The reason everyone is running heavy graveyard hate these days. Not to mention Soulflayer can't beat a deck that can win consistently on turn 3.
3. Kaya's Guile Blessed Alliance with graveyard hate?? Almost impossible to recover after sacrificing Soulflayer and getting graveyard wiped out. I miss the days when mardu-midrange and esper control were a favorable match up.
The worst thing is after the release of War of Spark, Modern Horizon, and M20 there seems to be nothing that can greatly improve Soulflayer :/

I got the Chancelors and the Rampager, and next time I'll try your version.
4x Soulflayer
4x Lotleth Troll
4x Sylvan Caryatid
3x Samut, Voice of Dissent
3x Zetalpa, Primal Dawn
3x Nightveil Predator
3x Spark Trooper
1x Ghor-Clan Rampager
1x Hazoret the Fervent
Spell x16
4x Traverse the Ulvenwald
4x Faithless Looting
4x Grisly Salvage
4x Incubation // Incongruity
4x Verdant Catacombs
4x Bloodstained Mire
2x Mana Confluence
1x Cavern of Souls
2x Overgrown Tomb
2x Blood Crypt
2x Swamp
1x Forest
3x Thoughtseize
2x Collective Brutality
3x Damping Sphere
2x Assassin's Trophy
2x Ancient Grudge
1x Lightning Axe
2x Engineered Explosives
My match ups were
R1 Jund 2-1
R2 Jund 2-0
R3 Esper Control 2-1
R4 G Tron 2-1
R5 RG Valakut 2-1
This deck is better at searching for Soulflayer compared to the usual build thanks to Incubation // Incongruity.
What made it possible to play Incubation // Incongruity was replacing Bomat Courier and Chancellor of the Dross with Spark Trooper. I added Nightveil Predator as an additional flyer since Chancellor was gone. Overall very satisfied with the deck!

1. Increasing land count to 19~20
2. Including Collective Brutality in mainboard
I'm having difficulty finding spot for them but hopefully I'll figure it out
What do you thing about this guy instead of the Nightveil Predator? Flying and haste, and can be easely hardcasted as an alternate win con.
And I would play eventualy 1 Eladamri. It's not filling the gy and therefore not quite a business...

Kaalia, Zenith Seeker can search for Soulflayer and other angel, demon, and dragon card.
Rotting Regisaur de M20
with the new Mulligan it was always coming down in turn 2-3
2-0 Elf
2-0 vampires
0-2 infinity
2-0 goblins
To improve it with your help

Now every ramp/prison deck has easy access to Tormod's Crypt and Ensnaring Bridge.

1 Silent Gravestone
2 Wear // Tear
3 Ancient Grudge
Rotting Regisaur seems to be a good card against graveyard hate too.
Are you running 4 color?
