I'm looking to get into modern and a card that looks promising to me is hero's blade which normally would be considered a bad card
However if you negate the equip cost it becomes Much better as for legends there are plenty of lower costing one in the current format shu yin is nothing to snease at when he swings as a 7/5 double striker potentially as early as turn 4 or even anafanza both versions become nothing to snease at on curve. There's even zergo bell striker gets scary swinging for 5 turn 3
I would appreciate comments and thoughts on a hero's blade deck
The problem with legends, though, is that you don't want to play too many of the same card. The best legend, I think, is just Thalia, so I would start with four of her, but beyond that it is totally up to your own preference. Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit plus Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch seems sweet. First Strike in general seems awesome with Hero's Blade. Alesha, Who Smiles at Death doesn't seem awful for value. Brimaz, King of Oreskos is solid and alongside white Anafenza would force an emphasis on white mana. Geist of Saint Traft seems really good too with Hero's Blade. But ultimately you're running a bunch of situationally good legends in order to simply pump them with a sword. First strike makes Masako the Humorless seem kinda awesome in magic Christmas land. If you're running a lot of creatures, Sidisi, Brood Tyrant becomes almost modern playable. The more I write, the more I think this should just be a standard deck. Zurgo plus Isamaru plus Thalia and Hero's Blade isn't a good modern deck.

One of these day I have to get myself organizized.
There are many different options, with jund seemingly strongest, but I was just doing a little search for things and realized that maaaybe mono white could be a thing? Has Isamaru, Hound of Konda, Rhys the RedeemedAnafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit, and something I really like, Mikaeus, the Lunarch (I was looking at 1-2 drops). What I like a about Mikaeus it's that he can be played for 1 mana with a hero's blade in play.
Hero's blade's ability is triggered so no you can't play Mike for 1 and have him stick around with the blade on him unless you have something else granting him toughness.
