My fair deck has beaten 2 unfair decks and 1 fair deck, and lost against 1 unfair deck.
The loss was very close. I had my opponent at one life in game three.
Depending on how the tournament in Berlin will go and depending on what will get banned I'll tweak it again before GP Barcelona.
I really love where your list is right now. I think this is the closest our lists have ever been to one and other. I have a more aggressive build and you have a more controlling/midrange build. I play 3 swiftspear, 1 soul-scar mage where you have gideon, resto angel, and 2 young pyromancer. Otherwise our decks are almost identical right now. I have fewer lands, but in their place I just have more cantrips (to go with the prowess creatures). I think your list looks great. I wouldn't change a thing.
I am really interested to see what happens on July 8th with the ban list. I would love to see a ban of Simian Spirit Guide and bridge from below because hogaak and neobrand will be too good with the london mulligan rule. I highly doubt that WOTC will get it right though.
Mr. Wickard- Rest in Peace is always a great card if it doesn't affect your build too much post board. I personally can't run it because I run snapcaster mage and bedlam reveler. The basic rule is if you can run RIP, do run it.
Also I think 19 is a good sweet spot for me personally. If I find that I am flooding a lot I sometimes run 61 cards in my deck and add another cantrip. It just smooths things out a bit and helps with flooding.
ccc1522- Shu Yun, Silent Tempest is one of my favorite cards and it was in my original build of this deck. To many good cards were printed and it was cut, but I absolutely love that card. It is way better than people think. If the meta becomes super gridny and creature based he could come back. It would take some serious bans to get to that meta.
I'm really happy with my list right now and it has been performing very well so I have nothing new to add to the deck building conversation. Teferi, Time Raveler in the main deck has been very good.
Hello all! I’m sorry that I haven’t been able to post until now, and won’t be able to do it often in the future if at all. I just wanted to show you my build currently.
Like you guys, I love Teferi, and I am very high on FoN with it and Queller. Queller is also impressive. Geist just gets chump blocked, so I’d rather side it in grindier matchups. Along with Queller, Seasoned Pyro fills that spot in the curve quite well. As for the side, 4 RIP is absolutely required in this modern, despite the anti-synergy with snapcaster. Thanks for any advice and all your work in the archetype!
Just rewatched the 2013 semi finals match between shahar shenhar and ben stark.
I saw many things that I feel are applicable today.
For starters, there were many many times that one of the two were afraid to cast anything when the other didnt have any answers at all. This cost ben the game and in fact cost shenhar one game as well. I feel that if either player would have just had 1 peek in the deck it would have been extremely helpful. Watching this game just reaffirmed my reasoning behind my 2/2 split of peek and serum visions. (I am on the spell queller jeskai tempo version not the creature heavy aggro version of jeskai.)
Secondly, they both played shadow of doubt. I am little uncertain of this card but it seems to have alot of application as well as the card draw. It stops fetches, land grabs off of path, and now itll stop that new captain of eos from fetching death shadow in that new death shadow mardu deck as well as amulet titan. With Force of negation out now I wonder if it could be worth a sb slot.
On an unrelated note, anyone play against the new wrenn and six jund??
What card or cards are just the best options we have vs jund. I know search for azcanta is great. But what is just the jund ball buster we have? Im wondering if hinderimg light is the anti jund card, anyone consider this card for their sb?
Hi JeskaiMage. I still love your name on here and your deck! I was going to say that ccc1522 also loves queller, but he beat me to it. I too am very high on FON and Teferi. Teferi makes a great 1 of in the main board for my deck and one in the side board. He is just amazing in some matchups. I think FON may be more valuable to our deck than any other deck in modern. We have a fairly proactive game plan and want to land 3-4 drops to maintain tempo. So having FON backup once we land a queller/geist/teferi/jace, etc is so valuable for us.
I have questioned whether to send Geist to the sideboard in the past for spell queller. I have never made the move though.
ccc1522- I love that semifinals match. Back when the deck was called Boremandos (Boros + Remand for those who weren't playing back then). I remember when Shadow of Doubt was like a $20 card. My local game store owner had to borrower my copies for a tournament because he couldn't find any. It's a great card, but I think it has been passed up slighly by other options like Ashiok.
I have not played against the Wren and Six Jund deck yet, but I have seen a lot of streamers playing it and playing against it. All planeswalkers are a good bet against jund. Celestial Purge is a great option. I know I have said this many times, but Jund is my favorite deck to play against. Basically we need to make sure we don't flood as best we can because our cards are just as efficient as their cards for the most case. I will be testing against the jund deck tonight so I will let you know how it goes.
thanks for the response. Hmm im gonna get me a few copies of shadow of doubt as well as a few copies of ashiok lol. I always run celestial purge vs jund its a given. i always bring up jund bc its a difficult match up and one that i want to be best at bc I too find that match to be among my favorites.
Another reason I brought up shadow of doubt is because I kind of want to walk away from pure draw spells. Serum visions is a great card but I feel that we could run cards that do something while replacing themselves. Shadow of doubt, electrolyze, peek, and for the more aggro decks theres slip through space and the one drop red card that pumps and draws. Perhaps that wouldnt be a bad idea.
On another note, ive been seeing alot of archmages charms. Anyone here testing it? i think Im gonna play a 1 of in place of a cryptic command or echoing truths i hold up 3 mana frequently for spell queller anyways so it could be a good thing especially as fuel for FoN

For the Delver of Secrets players serum visions helps flip delvers and helps smooth draws (getting rid of excess lands). For non-delver players I think Opt is likely a better choice for a straight cantrip style card. I do think the more midrange style decks and decks that are happy to have 5+ lands on the board could benefit from having more versatile cantrips. I am currently playing 4 opt, 3 serum visions, and 1 electrolyze. I am also running 1 faithless looting, but I think it is going to be banned soon. However, having consistent draws is important to my deck and having prowess creatures benefits from the cantrips.
As for archmage's charm I do think it is a solid choice. I tested it, but wasn't able to cast it reliably enough in my deck because my deck utilizes all three colors. It's probably 45 % blue, 35% red, and 20% white. I have seen a lot of the UR decks running 3-4 copies. Decks that hold up mana each turn would benefit from having a straight counter all the time.
On another note, here are a couple of neat decks I came across. Both could easily be ported to jeskai:
Hi everyone. I will be taking over the jeskai delver, ur delver, and ur wizards threads on the new site. I will concentrate my efforts on all three, but because most of my play is with jeskai delver that will be my most active thread. I will keep you all posted on when I actually get the threads started and we can move over. I will also start a discord at some point as well. Hope you all can make it to our new home!
With the ban announcement less than 24 hours away, let's discuss how it can affect our deck. The most direct way the announcement could affect us is with a banning of Faithless Looting. I personally don't run any copies of looting, but some do. In our deck looting can be replaced with a cantrip (especially Thought Scour with very little problem.
The other major thing that could happen would be an unban of Stoneforge Mystic and/or Splinter Twin. A splinter twin unban would be good and bad for us because we typically have a very good splinter twin matchup, but we would also lose delver players because twin is such a good and consistent UR deck. Stoneforge would cause a whole new Jeskai list. I have said this in the past, but I think players are really underrating Ojutai's Command in a modern that has stoneforge mystic as an option. I think there would definitely be a jeskai "stoneblade" style list running delver along with SFM and Jace. I haven't worked on this style of list in awhile, but when I did in the past it was very strong.
Any other bans that happen don't really affect us much. What do you all think. Would you play splinter twin if it were to be unbanned?
ON ANOTHER NOTE
I am currently working on the new formatting for the primer on MTGNEXUS.com. As soon as it is up I will let you all know.
Jeskai Twin was the best deck I ever piloted in Modern. But, nowadays, I don’t know how it would fare. Modern has become extremely overpowered since those days.
But i think wel see a single banning of altar of dementia or bridge from below, most like bridge. And maybe just maybe a mycosynth lattice ban too.
I dont see a faithless looting ban happening. If any cantrip would be banned it would be ancient stirrings. Hogaak will certainly be nerfed and dont be surprised this new delve creature being banned.
I have heard also that new karn and narset are being considered for the ban but again i think mycosynth lattice and teferis puzzle box would more likely see a ban before those two walkers.
I dont believe the walkers will get the hammer but I wouldnt be surprised as ppl seem to have their jimmies flustered.
I really think its gonna be bridge. That makes the most sense to me with mycosynth lattice added in as an after thought.
As for unbannings, preordain would be awesome but i too feel that stoneforge mystic would be the best candidate however I can also see a deathrite shaman and punishing fire unban too.
Also id like to point out that E-tron is now the third most played deck according to mtggoldfish.
Just as I predicted a couple weeks ago. Check it out guys.
Maybe get the Ceremonious rejections out.
This may be the straw that gets lattice banned as its not looking good to have this combo in half of the top decks. Also this combo existing leaves little room for any argument against splinter twin being unbanned.
Well bridge got the ban guys. It makes the most sense as I mentioned above. The card is very difficult to interact with since it is in the GY ulike alter which can be countered, destroyed, tucked etc etc.
I am very excited to see what will happen though I fear this will become a E-tron meta now.

I think you may be right. It seems like the Karn-Lattice combo kind of slipped under the radar. Neoform is another deck I am really worried about. We will see. Fortunately, we have a decent neform and tron matchup. E-tron, however, can be very tough. I will wait and see what happens after a week.
I was able to play a few games against the new jund list that won the redbull tournament and it was really tough. I really like that guy's build of jund. If E-tron and Jund become a big part of the meta then another planeswalker/midrange option may be beneficial. The meta is shifting quickly so modern is a ton of fun now.
I want to see how shadow of doubt will do and i have 2 spots left in my board which I dont know what to put in. I may put in an ashiok to bring in with the shadows bc it does seem pretty cool to have a sideboard that can turn the deck into a little bit of a resource denial strategy. Ive been considering narset as well. I do want some top end but im not sure what card(s) to put in for that either
Have also been considering running two archmages charms or just dropping them all together but still not sure about that either bc they do seem really good especially running alongside FoN.
Lastly, I am considering dropping the timely reinforcements for a steel of the god head or a pair of steel of the god head. Since Timely is really only ever used for the burn match up. I think 2x Steel of the God head can handle the life gain while still being applicable in other match ups to apply pressure and close out games. They can work in a pseudo top end fashion as I have experienced before. They would also be good with FoN as I can just pitch them if I have nothing to attach them to.
Hello everyone, first of all i wanna say how happy i'm to find this thread, iv tried to find deck i would love to play and jeskai has it all creatures, burn and a bit of counter magic! Please don't be mad at me for writting here because i need help with building a budget version of deck. I love modern format and for years iv been watching tournaments and i have been playing allot lately on MTGA but still modern is definitely my favourite format, unfortunately i can't afford the real deal, so i'm looking for a little bit of advice from you guys, so later on i can work on upgrading it. Here is what i came up with
Creatures
4 x Delver of Secrets
4 x Monastery Swiftspear
2 x Young Pyromancer
2 x Geist of Saint Traft
3 x Mantis Rider(maybe would like to make room for it )
1 x Bedlam Reveler
Spells
1 x Faithless Looting
4 x Lightning Bolt
4 x Lightning Helix
4 x Path to Exile
3 x Serum Visions
3 x Opt
2 x Spell Pierce
2 x Negate(or Mana Leak)
3-4 x Remand
1 x Electrolyze
I love all of these cards just having trouble of putting a final version on it atm, i know allot of people don't play Mantis Rider and Bedlam Reveler i just love all of them so i'm not sure which one should stay and what to cut. I know that playing 3 color deck is kinda hard to play on budget, so i'm looking for help and any suggestions on land base and sideboard options. Once again i know allot of you probably are not interested in budget but, any advice or suggestion would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time!
I know Curdbros is gonna love this as he/she is always interested in new ppl's lists.
Hmm i say if you love it man, then play it! you could go down to 1x geist of st traft so you can squeeze in the mantis riders.
With all the new lands and stuff i think you can build a budget version. Spire bluff canal as a 4 of would be a start. Then go for like
4 flooded strand
2 arid mesa
2 hallowed fountain
2 steam vents
2 sulfur falls
1 glacial fortress
1 sacred foundry
1 sunbaked canyon
then your basic lands
I think this mana base could be had for less than 100$

@ccc1522: I've never tried Shu Yun in my deck.
I have test to play against my friends who own mardu pyro. Which is a another deck who is hard to play against.
But after sideboard I put in.
2x fact or fiction
1x chandra tourch
1x jace mind
2x celestial purge
2x tormods crypt
1x engineering explosive
Maybe this is to much to side in. So what do you guys think? I really love jace, chandra, purge, fact or fiction in this matchup.
And my second question is.
Do you guys think 19 Lands is to short?
I draw so many lands when i play.

24 lands including 3 celestial colonnade
This is the sideboard Im going to be testing with this deck
2x Abrade
2x Celestial Purge
2x Ceremonious Rejection
2x Force of Negation
2x Shadow of Doubt
1x timely reinforcements
1x engineered explosives
1x archmage's charm
2x XX

Hmm i say if you love it man, then play it! you could go down to 1x geist of st traft so you can squeeze in the mantis riders.
With all the new lands and stuff i think you can build a budget version. Spire bluff canal as a 4 of would be a start. Then go for like
4 flooded strand
2 arid mesa
2 hallowed fountain
2 steam vents
2 sulfur falls
1 glacial fortress
1 sacred foundry
1 sunbaked canyon
then your basic lands
I think this mana base could be had for less than 100$
