Awesome, I forgot about her. Just ordered two foils at 4 dollars total.
To be honest, I did too. The only reason I even noticed her is because I am currently working on my list and my sideboard. I was looking through my sideboard box last night and pulled her out for the Hogaak Deck (along with Hallowed Moonlight). Then I started to think of all the other stuff she works against and thought it may be worth a slot or two. Todd Anderson talked about it on stream today and that sold me that two need to be in my board right now instead of Hallowed Moonlight.
Hi guys, thanks for the tip. I ordered two copies of the full art promos for 3 Euros in total today
I am still having a blast with my deck even without FoN. Still the same list I used during the matches I uploaded, same as in the last pic except for Venser instead of Serra.
Last nine matches online I am 8-1.
Mono Blue Control 2-1
UW Control 2-0
Sultai Snow 2-1
Mono Green Tron 2-0
Dimir Ninjas 1-2
Esper Shadow 2-0
Eldrazi Tron 2-1
Rakdos Goblins (MTGGoldfish 5-0 list) 2-0
Jund 2-0
Last FNM was not that great though (dropped 1-2, loosing against GW Angels in round 3), but last Friday I was still waiting for my Horizon lands which are absolutely awesome online.

I think jeskai tempo/aggro-control is one of the decks in modern that really rewards players who have mastered the deck or have played the deck for a long time. Those matchups are an awesome range of decks to play against. You have the entire spectrum from aggro to control and in between. That's where jeskai tempo/aggro-control really shines. I think its a good time to be a jeskai player. Any time the format is wide open than jeskai is typically a good call.
I bet the horizon lands are great in your deck with 22+ lands for any time you flood. I am having a lot of success with my list as well lately. The ninja list is interesting. I have seen it pop up a few times lately. Ice-Fang Cotyl is everywhere right now which stinks for delver, but I love seeing the new cards affect modern. I really am loving this meta right now. I have played against devoted druid, sultai control, rug control, rug spells, ub ninjas, ub faeries, GBx rock, and all sorts of different combo decks and tier 1 decks. It's a really fun time to play modern and to tinker with our deck.
I am still working on the perfect counter spell suite for my deck. I am currently testing two FON and one spell pierce. I had three FON, but wanted to give two a try as well and work spell pierce back into the deck. Giver of Runes is another card I want to test. I recently made my deck more aggressive/prowess based and put distortion strikeback in the list and it has been awesome. It has won me several games already so I am still working on the correct build. I will post what I am playing here later.
Ive been thinking alot and I feel that FoN would be perfect to run alongside spell snare.
Often spell snare is so so useful. And often it sits dead in hand. I feel its the perfect spell to pitch to FoN.
Just a thought.
That’s actually a really great thought. You are exactly right. Snare is often amazing or useless. Spell pierce is similar although not as bad. FON definitely makes those spells easier to include.
I think you want second and third Force way before third Cryptic and/or second Snare.
I agree. I would probably add another FON before I would add a third cryptic command. Unless it's more of a conrol oriented deck. Even then I may opt for a second FON before adding a third cryptic.
cryptic has been so useful for me and when I cut down to 3 It felt already like a big change for my deck. hmmmmmmm i deff have to think about adding a second FoN and cutting a cryptic.
i may cut spell snare completely and go 3 FoN.. but dammit i love the feeling of a beautiful spell snare on my opponents second turn while im on the draw.

and well now I have to ask is spell pierce better than flusterstorm?
I do think that Spell Pierce is currently better than Flusterstorm. I have had a hard time finding the perfect combination of spell pierce/FON in my deck. It used to be a pretty easy split of 2 remand, 2 spell pierce, 1 other counter spell. I am looking for that perfect fit right now.
Hi guys,
I am going to take my Jeskai Delver to GP Barcelona in July (with one smaller tournament in Berlin before that as a last test) and I need your help.
With all these good new cards there is just too much stuff I'd love to put in the deck. I have to make some cuts.
Could you please help me by recommending which cards to cut and why?
The deck should have 21 lands and 60 cards in total, so 2 lands and 2 cards from the mainboard need to disappear.
I also need to cut 3 cards from the sideboard.
Please take a look:
Mainboard
Cuts from board
-Vendilon Clique
-Pillage (may not be enough on it's own)
-Disdainful stroke
-Anger of the Gods (depending on meta)
You also have room to cut a helix and run 3 copies if you need another cut or if you want to keep jeskai charm in the deck. These changes would give you a little more consistency in draws. I have also heard some people saying the baby Teferi, Time Raveler has been somewhat unimpressive in the main board so he may be better in the board too. Let us know how he has played so far for you.
A lot of the changes will depend on the meta as well. If Hogaak is still legal in it's current setup you will have to make sure you are well prepared for it. You would likely need another copy of RIP and/or surgical.
How are you guys faring vs hogaak? i havent been able to play lately but have been keeping up with the meta and that deck seems bursty as all hell.
Also on unrelated note, when are we supposed to be shut down?
I haven't played against the deck a ton yet because I haven't played online lately. The games I have played have seemed fairly straight forward. We are basically worried about Bridge from Below and Alter of Dementia. Alter being the most important card for us to counter or remove. With our pressure and our counter magic we can deal with most creature based attacks. Alter can mill us quickly though. We are definitely a dog in game 1 most of the time, especially if they are on the play.
I don't think it's that unwinnable by any means, but if it sticks around we may be looking at playing additional copies of Rest in Peace. I do think something from this deck will be banned at the next announcement. Because Hogaak and Alter are new I think it may be bridge that gets the ban.
Thanks for your suggestions JulsSkogs & CurdBros!
I also put this up in the Magic The Gathering Modern Players FB group and counted all the answers I got so far (including yours):
Cuts from Mainboard
Ral 5x
Gideon 2x
Elspeth 2x
Fact or Fiction 4x
Geist 2x
Jeskai Charm
Move Lavamancer to Sideboard
Shinka
Plain
Cuts from Sideboard
Champion 2x
Pillage 2x
Disdainful Stroke
Swap Ashiok for 2nd Surgical
Swap Ashiok for 2nd RiP
Suggested Addidtions
3rd Opt
2nd Force of Negation
Spell Queller
Risk Factor
Narset
Ral and Fact or Fiction need to go. I'll playtest with more cantrips and see how it goes.
Played a first match with the slightly amended decklist this morning and won 2-0 against Izzet Phoenix.
You can watch game 1 here.
Game 2 was not that exciting. I landed turn 2 RiP and had EE, Palm and FoN in hand all game as security.
I wanted to play a Vendilion Clique, but did love the UU casting cost. I would really love to get a Spell Queller back into the deck and may work it back into the deck in the future if something under performs. Next I will be perfecting the sideboard. I will post pics of the deck I play soon.
I was able to get a jace mind now. And it was in foil too haha xD. Eternal master foil. Yeah you heard right.
So jace and a chandra torch is going in to my side

Specifically, for this archetype, you want to press tempo, so Spell Pierce will give you that, spell snare often will be useless.
