I agree cc1522 that spell queller and geist of saint traft are going to be way better now with force of negation. My early testing results are showing that as well. I put another copy back into my deck.
Your deck is much more midrange than mine so they are a different play style. I think people are actually underrating Force of Negation right now. It has been extremely good for me. I do think blue decks will be built slightly differently to make up for the card loss with such things as jace, bedlam revler, snapcater mage, that new archmage's charm, etc to regain some of the card disadvantage, but I have really enjoyed FON.
I only have a few suggestions for your build. Why do you prefer peek over opt? It's not that much different and if it's a preference thing than it's no big deal, but I think opt is better. I have also been playing with a 1 of copy of the new narset and it is awesome in a lot of matchups. The baby teferi is great too. I would probably switch the last copy of cryptic command in your board to narset and give it a try. If you can land narset and teferi you basically beat any grindy matchup.
Also the thundermaw feels a little out of place. It may be better as a lifelink angel or something for aggro matchups, however, if your meta has a bunch of lingering souls than thundermaw is amazing.
I chose peek over opt bc I like playing with the extra knowledge of what my opponent has. Its helps prepare your lines better as well as helps with figuring out the best way to play queller and clique. I prefer the knowledge it provides over opt.
As for thundermaw it is mainly used vs token decks for sure like abzan and mardu. I will bring in vs jund but its become more of a pet card tbh and I will be taking it out.
I considered narset at first but felt that azcanta was just better so I decided against including her. But as free space starts showing up in my SB i will probably give her a test.
Thank you for the feedback and advice.
And yes geist and queller are going to be great with FON

The main goal of this particular list would be to land a turn 1 or 2 GoR into a turn 3 Geist. Geist can than block a creature if nescessary and go to work on our turn. The list is way more control oriented than the list I am playing right now but I really like the "protect the Geist" strategy quite a bit.
Ranger-Captain is going to have quite an impact as well in modern, imo. It draws a card, is a 3/3 body and has an additional ability which is insane against a number of decks, like storm, izzet phoenix and other combo decks that might gain some ground after the release of MH.
The Teferis are for the longer game, as well as making it way more difficult to answer our threats, generating a tempo advantage over a few turns, as whatever they want to do they have to either get rid of baby teferi first, or just play everything sorcerie speed.
So I am curious what your thoughts are on my list.

This deck looks awesome. Several individuals on here really like the Giver or Runes + Ranger Captain of Eos + Geist of Saint Traft package. With so many people liking his combination I have to feel like it's going to work pretty well. As I have said before, this style is slightly more midrange than I typically play, but it is still a tempo style game plan. I really look forward to seeing how your deck works out. I love the counter magic suite you have. I can't say much about the deck specifically without testing it, but based on theory alone I don't think I would change a thing.
On another deck note, I saw a cool idea somewhere where someone was talking about a Monastery Mentor deck utilizing both the Force of Negation and Force of Virtue in the maindeck. A lot of free spells with Mentor seems like a really cool place to be. They didn't elaborate past that idea. The deck would likely include captain ranger of eos and squadron hawk. Just a neat prowess based strategy idea. I will let you know if I ever get around to actually building a deck with mentor. I am playing in a four round modern "event/testing session" today with the new cards with my playgroup. We treat it as a four round FNM where you sit down and face a random deck just like FNM for four rounds. I will let you all know how it goes.
So many good new cards, so many ideas that need to be tested
I'll also try Giver of Runes, but in combination with Delver, Geist and Young Pyromancer.
I don't think that the Ranger-Captain is that strong. Sure, he fetches a 1 drop and can stop a Terminus (which is awesome) but he's a 3/3 for 3 without evasion...
Seasoned Pyromancer is being evaluated as a really strong card by several pro players. He could be good in the more aggressive versions that can play him as their last card to draw two extra cards.
Force of Negation will probably find a place in my SB since it can be very good against certain decks.
The problem is, that there are so many more awesome SB candidates. Flusterstorm is likely going to replace my SB Dispel. 2x Pillage in the SB could be very good too against a lot of decks. If London Mulligan returns I am also considering to add 2x Leyline of Sanctity to my SB.
Other interesting looking cards I need to test are Prohibit and Serra. Prohibit can't stop Titans etc. but it scales really nicely and can counter 90% of all Modern relevant spells. Serra only needs to be activated once to ultimate and her ultimate can be really broken in a Geist deck.

As for my testing so far here is what I have found. Obviously this is all in non sanctioned practice, not real FNM-
-Force of Negation is as good, if not better, than advertised in a tempo or aggro-control list. It has been nothing short of awesome in most game I have played with it. This existing makes cards like Geist and planeswalkers much better.
-Archmage's Charm is good, but I don't feel like it's good enough at the casting cost. It will definitely see play in the UW control lists, but for a three colored deck it is very tough to cast on rate and probably isn't worth it in a more aggressive tempo list. It may be worth it in a more midrange build because the draw two cards option means it's never a dead draw.
-[c]Narset, Parter of Veils[c]- is better than I expected. She nearly always gives two cards and really hurts some decks. I am trying to decide if I want baby teferi, chandra fire artisan, or narset in my flex spot and will be testing them all. Baby teferi is tough to evaluate.
-Flusterstorm hasn't really been sided in much. This one may be a card that will be useful to have when it is good, but doesn't fit the meta currently all that well. I only have one copy in the board for now (for non-fnm related games)
-The horizon lands- are exactly what we expected. They are awesome and don't let us flood out as easily. I have been running three total copies and that seems pretty good. They do cost a decent chunk of life so you can't run like 10 of them, but 2-3 copies is probably right. I may have to have a life gain sideboard option against burn because the mana base does hurt a lot in this deck right now.
I haven't tested any of the other cards, but will keep you posted as I do.
Ive been playing geist for a while now and tbh guys idk if giver of runes is all that great to protect geist. Youd be better off playing removal. If you dont have geist giver of runes is rather useless which would render ranger to be sub optimal. Ranger would be best played with 8 targets 4 delver and 4 givers.
I believe that using ranger and giver solely to protect geist to be sub optimal. Now if you run 4 spell queller then thats a different story. As giver will deff be great for that. I simply feel that taking a more aggressive approach to protecting geist and clearing a path for him is a better route to take. Not to mention giver of runes will be seen as a BoP and he bolted or removed on sight most likely.
Secondly, giver would probably have fantastic synergy with thalia which is something im not too happy with since i hate her.
But im speculating here ive been wrong many times before perhaps this will be so here too.
To summarize geist is best protected with removal not with giving him protection. Giver of runes has fantastic synergy with spell queller so that is deff an option. Giver will most likely attract removal which is good and bad at the same time. Ranger needs more targets apart from giver i would say 6-8. I think 4 is not enough to get his full potential each time you draw him especially if you want to turn a corner and go defensive or offensive which is where a delver or lavamancer would come in.
Hi my wonderful friends.
I want to share my new deck. It's a fun deck

I have to agree with you on this one. I haven't tested Giver of Runes yet, but that is mainly because I don't think it's strong enough for my deck. I think it will have times where it will be good, but I don't think it's going to be good enough often enough to warrant a main deck slot. I play a similar game plan to you.
Yea i just dont think its gonna perform unless you have alot of targets to protect most optimally queller. As for beating in with geist i dont feel like saccing a creature should be the route itd be better to use vapor snag or something rather than a 1 drop creature that dies so you can get in 6 damage one turn. At least a vapor snag as snapcasterability

What is everyone thinking about the newest spoilers?
Throes of Chaos is lovely designed chaos card. It could be very good as a 1-of in a burn-heavy build with very few counters. Every land you draw late game will turn into gas. You can pitch it early game to Looting. It flips Delver which Chandra does not and it's easier to cast too since you don't need RR.
Vesperlark looks interesting because it can bring back Delver and Lavamancer, but I fear the 2/1 stats are too weak (which is the reason why no one is playing Aven Mindcensor despite it's strong effect).
Mist-Clan Ninja has me really excited! If unchecked it will take over the whole game within a few turns. Several elemental tokens from YP often go unblocked but I think Ninjutsu can be easily used on Geist's angel token. (Even though one could argue that you're already winning when you can attack with a Geist...) I also like that the casting cost is not UU which would be difficult for my deck.
Mist-clan ninja could be insane with geist of st.traft. I think it would be really well suited for 2 of in the sideboard much like how goblin rabblemaster performs in mardu pyromancer. you bring it in vs decks that cant handle swarms all that well.

I don't see any of these really making huge waves in our deck. I do think Mist-Clan Ninja can get out of hand, but it's just too much to invest. I agree it would likely be good out of the board against grindy matchups.

I wanted to make a separate post so people could read it seperately from any other discussion. MTGSalvation.com will be shutting down in early July. I don't know why they are shutting down. They really didn't give a reason. It was somewhat of an abrupt and shocking announcement. They did mention that they will be opening another site for people to go to, but they didn't given any details. My hope is that is another forum type set up similar to this one only a litle less convoluted (so it will be easier to find decks). I don't think they would shut down so abruptly without something somewhat similar for people to go and post.
As for tectonic reformation it seems to have a number of people thinking it could be bonkers. I don't personally have any clue what it will do, but the affect is super powerful if built around. Any land Some of the cards in this set like this one and Echo of Eons are super hard to evaluate. I am very excited to see where this set takes modern and even more excited to see where it takes our deck. A

I think they mentioned it was due in part to the team not having the time and resources to devote here and other places they're obligated to and something had to go.
Do you think reckless charge is good enough? With so many threats with evasion this could be an extra 6 damage in one card potentially, and this is one of the decks I thought of when I saw it. If you go with any looting effects you can also pitch it and cash in later when the shields are down and it can help get you over the finish line.
Swinging in with Geist that has pro color (to stop blocks) from giver is 6 damage, a reckless charge plus flash back on that geist is 12 damage, 8 of which is concentrated in a hexproof potentially hard to block Geist. With him having hexproof you can also use giver proactively (or charge for that matter).
I think reckless charge will only fit in the most aggressive versions of prowess builds. Anything with flashback can't be ignored because it is so good in our deck. I would love to see a more "all-in" prowess deck with Geist, kiln fiend, swiftspear, etc. I don't know if it would work in the long run, but it would be fun.

Any flashback card is something we are going to have to look very seriously at. I'm not sure it would make the final 75 in my deck, but it would definitely be in a super aggressive/prowess version of jeskai tempo. I can see it just destroying people with swiftspear, geist, burn spells, etc. I can't wait to see the rest of the spoiler and start testing with all the information.
With the new watcher for tomorrow I thought of a really fun UR Wizards list. I will post it here, but since it isn't Jeskai I will put it under a spoiler tab. I also want to work on a jeskai version with the new bounce spell with rebound- Ephemerate.
I think that deck would be a lot of fun to play. It utilizes a ton of the new cards. the Archmage's Charm may just be better as a Cryptic Command, but I haven't tested the deck at all. Just a fun thought project.
The hideaway wizard comes in tapped so that won't work. I added dreadhorde anarcist instead.

I agree. There are so many good cards to try out now with war of the spark and modern horizons entering modern. Off the top of my head I can think - Terferi, Time Raveler, Archmage's Charm, Force of Negation, Narset, Parter of Veils, Flusterstorm, Prohibit, Seasoned Pyromancer, and the new horizon lands. That's not to mention the more fringe stuff like Serra, the Benevolent, Chandra, Fire Artisan, Giver of Runes, etc. It may be a little while before we all find our preferred 75 cards. This is the most fun time to be a modern player in my opinion. I love tinkering with new cards and new ideas to see how they fit.

I have to agree with you on this one. I haven't tested Giver of Runes yet, but that is mainly because I don't think it's strong enough for my deck. I think it will have times where it will be good, but I don't think it's going to be good enough often enough to warrant a main deck slot. I play a similar game plan to you.

I don't see any of these really making huge waves in our deck. I do think Mist-Clan Ninja can get out of hand, but it's just too much to invest. I agree it would likely be good out of the board against grindy matchups.
**ON ANOTHER TOPIC**
With MTG Salvation shutting down on July 8th of this year I promise that I will update the primer before that date and will upload the primer to the new website on the very first day of the new site. We aren't sure what the new site will be just yet, but I assume it will be somewhat similar on the forum end. I promise I will make sure that Jeskai Tempo/Aggro will be moved to any new location accordingly.
This one is super interesting. I will likely give a copy a try with a second faithless looting. Going aggro and then refilling seems nice.
Do you know why the site is shutting down? and will the new site have the same "owners"?
on a seperate note.. Tectonic reformation.. have you guys seen this??? I think this card could be insane.
