The only "new" inclusion is Faithless Looting which has been performing very well so I am going to continue to run it. I am also giving one Negate a try in the maindeck along with 2 Remand instead of 3 remand. No recent results to talk about due to the holidays, but I have been testing the deck and so far I really like faithless looting more than I thought I would. I'm not sure about the Negate yet. I will keep you all posted.
whats your sideboard captain? lol is reveler still working well for ya as a 1 of?
:). I'm still playing mostly the same sideboard cards. I did make one slight change. Here is my current board
I have been trying Flashfreeze to deal with a greater number of Ponza and Scapeshift decks. In addition, Blood Moon decks have been on the rise. It also hits Collected Company decks and burn. It has been pretty good so far. I have seen a lot of people giving Disdainful Stroke in this spot so I may give that a try too. I cut the [a]Hallowed Moonlight[/c] because I already had options for collected company and goryo's vengeance and thought an additional Dispel would likely be better. Abrade is for all of the Aether Vial decks. I would also like to find room for a second copy of Engineered Explosives if possible.
As for Bedlam Reveler, I'm still a believer. I just love the card. Reveler is very tough to play well and can be clunky sometimes, however, the power level is off the chart to get a 3/4 prowess creatures and pseudo- Ancestral Recall. I play a second copy in my sideboard for the more grindy matchups where reveler really shines. I do think there are many options that can fill a similar role like Hazoret, the Fervant, Kia and Piran Nalar, planeswalkers, etc, however, reveler just fits with my gameplan the best.
yeah i do miss the reveler, but not the delvers lol i actually love the flashfreeze in your list for sure. if people aren't expecting it, it can snag some pretty good cards. then once they see one, they will play around it for the rest of the match which might make them make some mistakes.
I have 1 search and when i get a 2nd one, i want to get both in my new sideboard. My deck can go long, but having that card selection throughout the early turns and fueling logic knot and snapcaster for me seems wonderful, as well for your delvers, revelers, and other interactions.
With the new spoilers coming out this week I was trying to think if there is anything we could get to help our deck. I can't really think of anything outside of a reprint of Daze that would even be plausible. Possibly a Treasure Cruise style card however they already spoiled the blue one that needs 10 permanents. It seems like this set is permanent based which doesn't really fit our deck. I have a feeling that Dominaria with Teferri and Jhoira will be great for us. I am really looking forward to seeing if I can finally put my prowess + Fury Charm + Ancestral Vision deck idea together if there is another playable suspend card.
I want more playable Prowess creatures, a new modular card like a cycle of enemy commands, or something else for Eldrazi Tron out of the board. (As an aggro player, I hate Chalice (and prison elements in general) with a passion.)

I like your list Gofytomcat. I would love another modular or versatile spell. I think Dominaria is more likely to give us something like that, but it doesn't hurt to hope.
Need More DPS- I think everyone would he helped by cheaper fetches. I own a lot of fetches and would not mind at all if they went down in value because more people could get them. With that said, I don't see this happening anytime soon given that we just went back to Zendikar. Maybe the names are ambiguous enough to put on another plane.
For the first preview card to talk about we have-
Tilonalli's Summoner 1R
Human Shaman 1/1
Ascend (If you control ten or more permanents, you get the city's blessing for the rest of the game.)
Whenever Tilonalli's Summoner attacks, you may pay XR. If you do, create X 1/1 Elemental creature tokens tapped and attacking. Exile them at the beginning of the next end step, unless you have the City's blessing.
I think for our deck Young Pyromancer is likely better. However, this card maybe a decent sideboard option for grindy matchups or for matchups that can't deal with a lot of creatures. I really like the design of this card and hopefully I will finally be able to build my mono red devotion deck with Purphoros, God of the Forge.
We got a potential sideboard card for fighting the big creatures in Tron etc.
3CMC "if Geist/Mantis Rider got through (what we want anyways)then we now have a copy of their best threat (or an additional copy of one of our own)seems good for those attrition based matchups.
admiral's order is absolutely terrible. They can just play the removal precombat and 99% of the time you are countering an instant anyway so dispel is just better. The card has absolutely no place in any 75 anywhere in modern, and probably not even in standard.

I don't like this card. I'd rather put Sakashima the Impostor in my deck/sideboard if I am worried about Tron/Eldrazi. He costs one more but the upside of being able to copy Geist of Saint Traft is huge.
(Flying
Whenever Warsail Marauder attacks, target creature loses all abilities and has base power and toughness 0/1 until end of turn.)
This guy looks very good though. Not sure if it's fast enough to play creatures without haste/flash/enter-the-battlefield-effects in our deck but evasion is nice and the triggered effect is awesome: can "remove" a creature that could possibly block Geist or help you get rid of a TKS with a Bolt/Helix.
This guy will make the Humans deck really powerful. A shell with 4 Aether Vials is perfect for a creature like this.

This is the card I am most intrigued by as well. I thought it could be a sideboard card for the big mana and grindy matchups. It seems very interesting and I will definitely be testing it.
I don't think Admiral's Order is terrible, but I don't think it's good enough to add. I'm not sure though. I haven't tested it. Like jwf239 said, dispel is often better, however in the late game having a straight up counter spell is nice to have. I don't think it terrible, but I'm not sold that the upside is enough to warrant it. I have always been fond of negate and dispel even in the main deck because we have so much creature removal already and likely don't want to counter creature spells.
I wish Geist wasn't legendary. It would be great to have several copies of Geist on the board. I really like the new clone guy Gofytomcat. I think there are better options, but it's still cool.
Emilan87- Welcome! It's always great to hear new voices on the topic. I have to say I really like your choices. We have come to similar choices. I really can't see anything I would recommend changing. Cryptic Command can sometimes be hard to cast, but in a more queller centric deck, I really like cryptic command. I would also like to see 3 geist of saint traft because he is so valuable. However, my deck "needs" geist a bit more than yours because you have several high end flying threats that I don't have (multiple quellers and thundermaw).
How has mana leak been for you? I am currently playing a Spell Pierce and Spell Snare, however, my deck is a bit more aggro. I am interested to see how mana leak has been performing.
Are there any matchups locally you are struggling with?
Another potential creature for the Mantis Rider/ Burn variants. Worse than Mantis Rider, but if one needs an additional haste threat with going up to 4 CMC and Lightning Angel there's a potential here.
your opponent needs path to exile or this guy will keep coming back and has haste. high chance this bird will be a $20-30 mythic in standard. playable in modern although has no haste like stormbreath or thundermaw

There already is a lot of GY hate that gets sideboarded in. The token is not invincible, which can also just be taken out. It does create a 2 for 1 our favor assuming no GY hate. Bird is ok at 4CMC.
Hello to the New Guy; emilan87 your deck looks good.
FNM 12-29-2017
1-3
5 color DeathShadow 1-2
G1 win, bolt for kill top deck.
G2 lost, stuck on land Mulligan1. Game went slow not in my favor, I held up removal and kill spells that never dropped, could not cast 3CMC.
G3 lost, he kills my stuff and then brings in a host of big guys I can not deal with.
Assault Formation Abazan 2-0
G1 quick win with flyers, flipped delver into Mantis Rider T4 win
G2 win, he could not develop blockers for flyers.
His deck was still developing and could have used tweaking.
Hornet deck 0-2
G1 lost, I started off fast doing damage 3 per turn, he played mana ramps to get out Hornet queen with Khans enchantment "when flyer creature etb it fights target creature" I was able to counter this combo but he drew into more of them. Killing my board and wining.
G2 lost. I misplay my fetchland and played land tapped and off mana, Unable to get the right mix of mana (no red) and he Inquisitions the cards I need to win, unable to play a creature or counter (only 1 blue source) drew into white sources. I was backpeddling most of the game.
Mono G Stompy 0-2
I do not feel bad about this lost as the deck is just good, either you have the answer or you do not. I spent both games killing off/ bouncing his spells trying to wear his hand down and not land a real threat.
Overall my counterspells were either duds or not relevant enough.
I am going to try to go more Prowess.
New Deck list
The YP were not doing enough, Geist is good but I found myself casting Rider more on T3. I wanted to go for a heavier burn package with late game attack.
"Dire Fleet Daredevil"
1R
Human - Pirate
First Strike
When Dire Fleet Daredevil enters the battlefield, exile target instant or sorcery from an opponenty's graveyard. You can cast that card this turn and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color. If that card would be put into a graveyard this turn, exile it instead.
This must be the best card in this whole set for our deck. This card complements our Snapcaster Mages perfectly. They cast burn spells or counters and the Daredevil casts Thoughtseize, Fatal Push, Ancient Stirrings, Kolaghan's Command etc.
The problem is that the real casting cost is 3 just like for Snappy, so in my deck I might have to cut other CMC3/4 cards to make room. I want to play 4 Snappys and 2 Daredevils main for sure.

I've got some words here. May seem harsh but it needs to be said.
what was the list before these changes? are you on a budget? Windswept Heath and no scalding tarns or snapcaster mage? Scalding Tarns are the optimal Land if you want the deck to run the smoothest. Snacaster mage is a modern powerhouse, and needs to be in ANY deck with blue. ANY deck with blue. At LEAST a 2 of, probably a 3 of.
- The Echoing truth is a sideboard card, you can probably drop the Zev from the 75 altogether.
- Serum Visions needs to be a 4 of. Simple as that.
- Jotun Grunt and Vexing Devil are cute cards at best, drop them altogether.
- The mana base is kind of atrocious...
something like this is going to be WAAAYYY better. This isn't tested of course, but you are guaranteed to hit the lands and the colors that you need.
- Make Mantis Rider a 4 of, you need a good attacker in the 3 spot.
- I don't like Slayers Stronghold. Your deck needs its colored sources.
- I think you need better cards in order to make Opt better. If you can't get snapcaster I wouldn't even bother running Opt. You already have Serum Visions, a singelton Faithless Looting (which looks terrible without snapcaster mage) and Chart a Course. You actually have too many draw spells and not enough spells that actually DO something. If you had monastery mentor or Young Pyromancer it wouldn't be totally bad because chaining multiple draw spells gives you creatuers. In this build you need better spells and better creatures.
- if you want a good counter spell, add mana leak, negate, or even deprive. Remand is ok but without Snapcaster, remand just looks infinitely worse than the others.
You will get suboptimal results with a suboptimal deck. Sorry man. That's just the way it is. If you can't get the more expensive cards, you should look at a deck like Suicide Bloo. It is a glass cannon but will win more than this pile.

I think the card is pretty good! Borrowing your opponent's spells is always a useful option. and yes... i think a 4/2 split is a wise choice.
I know, 23 enablers to flip Delver is far too low for many you but I think it's still okay with 4 SVs and Azcanta. Since the creatures have less impact than in a list with 4 copies of Geist I wouldn't want to go below 14. And since so many spells have CMC3+ (11) I don't think this deck would work well with less than 21 lands, so there isn't much to do about the Delver problem (aside from completely cutting him).
Elspeth can help late game by turning Snappys and Daredevils into evasive 5/4 attackers so she seems like a very good fit.
This has nothing to do with the new creatures but what do you guys think about Irrigated Farmland here as a 7th land that can be fetched? I'd fetch it EOT when I have the chance or cycle it late game when I already have enough lands in play. Could help prevent flooding too much...
That red human pirate is epic, but wouldn't use him more than 2 times in the main. He casts things at sorcery speed and you may hit a deck with too few instants and/or sorceries. Another one I liked is this:
Which reads:
Slaughter the Strong
1WW
Sorcery
Each player chooses any number of creatures with total power 4 or less, then sacrifices the rest.
It can clear several blockers and keep your stuff relatively safe. It seems similar to Dusk // Dawn to be frank...
In other news, I won another fetch (a Misty this time) last Saturday by beating Infect, Abzan (where I mulliganed to 4 in the 2nd game and I could've won with some better draws), Knightfall (with an epic hand in the 3rd game, with me on the play, consisting of: double delver, 2 lands, bolt, path and serum delver flips with a remand on my 2nd turn) and 1 more that I can't remember atm (maybe I'll edit it in).
Alas, I'm saddened to say that today I lost my winning streak in the 5th round against Temur Scapeshift after drawing everything useless and too many lands for 2 of our 3 games. The rest of the matches were against:
i) Cruel Control (Hazoret 1st game, Blood Moon in the 2nd)
ii) Esper Control (with an epic g2 on my stuck on 2 lands and no red man for 8-10 turns and I won)
iii) Ponza (where geist [g1], delvers [g3] + remands and spell pierce won), I'll say it's a REALLY scary match-up
iv) Jeskai Geist/Midrange with an easy 2-0. Double dispel off the board ftw.
I sided in The Locust God almost in every match-up, sans Scapeshift, but didn't really drw him. After the games everyone said that he'd be a huuuge pain to deal with him and he'd probably snowball the game.

While I would never call another players deck "a pile", I do agree with some of RutherJC's statements. This appears to be a more budget list. Unfortunely there isn't a ton of room when it comes the core cards of this deck. Snapcaster Mage is almost a must have. He is our main source of card advantage and another threat. He is key.
My suggestions for a more budget friendly version would be to cut the Kari-Zev's expertise and add it to the sideboard if you love the card. Also cut the Gideon, Ally of Zendikar from the maindeck.
I agree that a 4 serum visions/ 2 opt split is likely better.
If you do want to play a more budget version there are tons of options. Like Ruther said there is a more all in version. Kiln Fiend is a great option for the aggro version. I would also suggest cutting the jotun grunt. I think Kiln Fiend would be better than those cards. A semi-budget creature base could be
4 Delver of secrets
4 Monastery swift spear
4 Kiln fiend/stormchaser mage
3 Mantis Rider
As for the spells I would start by cutting at least one chart a course (likely both). I have just not been impressed with that card, but it may work better in this style of deck. As I said above, cut the expertise, and go with a 4 serum visions/2 opt split. In the place of the expertise and charts I would suggest playing a spell pierce or two and/or spell snare. I would also suggest adding a Vapor Snag. It's really underplayed for how good it is. I actually like Echoing Truth in the main and run a copy myself.
This is what I would do if you don't want to pay to much additional money. If money were not an issue I would suggest getting the snapcaster mages. Let us know what you do and if it helps.

I am really intrigued by the new white "sweeper". It's amazing in a Geist deck. I am going to run a copy in my sideboard during testing and see what happens.

Looks like it's a lot of fun to play.
I'd maybe add 2-3 Remands/Spell Pierces and maybe 1-2 more creatures but it's hard to say without testing first.

Thanks again for posting!

Silence is better I think

4 Scalding tarn
2 Flooded Strand
2 Steam Vents
1 Hallowed Fountain
1 Sacred Foundry
2 Spirebluff Canal
1 Seachrome Coast
1 Glacial Fortress
1 Shinko
2 Island
1 Plains
1 Mountain
something like this is going to be WAAAYYY better.
- a more 'Prowess' centered deck is going to have more than 4 prowess creatures... You need a threat in the 2 drop spot. Find some. Stormchaser Mage, Young Pyromancer, SNAPCASTER MAGE...
Thanks you very much DarkNightCavalier for the Sig.
I think the card is pretty good! Borrowing your opponent's spells is always a useful option. and yes... i think a 4/2 split is a wise choice.

4 Snapcaster Mage
2 Dire Fleet Daredevil
2 Geist of Saint Traft
1 Vendilion Clique
Planeswalker (1)
1 Elspeth, Knight-Errant
Kiln Fiend works very well with Emerge Unscathed as well.
Awesome win streak Mr T. Congrats on the wins and the misty!
I am really intrigued by the new white "sweeper". It's amazing in a Geist deck. I am going to run a copy in my sideboard during testing and see what happens.
