This started as some casual aura deck that turned into a spirit/aura deck. It uses the Tallowisp + Glitterfang engine to help fetch out Ethereal Armor and Angelic Destiny cards while Spirit of the Labyrinth annoys them. With some burn and aura backup to kill their creatures and things.
Anyone help me out with some different aura suggestions or whatnot?
Maybe an Aura that protects your Tallowisp in some fashion? It's really the engine that drives the deck. Without it, you're kind of just a bunch of questionable cards.
And while I won't deny that they might technically be the 'best' cards in your deck, I can't help but wonder if the burn spells shouldn't be something else that jives better with the spirit/aura theme. Not sure what. I do like recurring value engines, though, so I may give the ol' Tallowisp/Glitterfang combo a try at some point myself.
Well I do know Ethereal Armor makes Tallowisp out of bolt range, and eventually a clock with enough control enchantments in play. I guess i can try Hyena Umbra or Guildscorn Ward for Abrupt Decay. Seems way too limited and pointless though. Hyena Umbra might be okay though.
I was thinking more along the lines of hexproof, but I suppose that would require stretching the mana base too much. Path to Exile makes the Umbras not as entincing, but I suppose it's better than nothing. Nomad Mythmaker seems kind of fun, too. It can counteract some of the card disadvantage that auras saddle you with. Kor Spiritdancer does some pretty heavy lifting in these builds as well, although maybe the hate from Spirit of the Labyrinth is just too good to pass up in this metagame.
How has this deck performed in testing? The concept is interesting.
To be honest, I haven't tested big time against metagame decks. It was a casual deck and I'm playing mostly casual players and whatever ilk they made (primarily huge creatures that take 10 turns to summon).
As for what I've observed by just playing it on Cockatrice, I need more Greater Auramancy. It basically makes Angelic Destiny/Ethereal Armor the game winner. I'll bring it to a modern deck day soon.
