I saw this thread in the standard section and had to ask myself, since modern has more cards and better helix carriers, can we do this better? The idea is assemble the combo of hexproof guy/ascendancy/free artifact/Helix to swing for lethal turn 4. I doubt its super viable but it seems like it'd be fun to pilot because you get to kill people by casting Darksteel Relic a lot and how often does that happen?
Glittering Wish can get a Slippery Bogle or Jeskai Ascendancy. Ascendancy, Serum Visions, and Thirst for Knowledge help you dig to find the rest of your combo. Getting an Ascendancy down is fairly important because, in addition to being a combo piece, it really helps you find your other combo pieces, letting you dump any 0cost artifacts to search for what you're missing.Artful Dodge lets your bogle get past manlands, flash shenanigans, and the scenario where they have more blockers than you can bounce.
The Nut draw is:
T1: Mantle + Boggle
T2: Equip mantle leaving remand up
T3: Ascendancy+Helix win
Glad to see someone port my idea over to modern! I was originally thinking about proposing the Jeskai Ascendancy combo in modern but it is really slow and requires a lot of set up so I don't think it can be too competitive. Although I think it can win an FNM and want to give it a shot.
I didn't even know that Banishing Knack existed, so that's convenient.
4 thirst for knowledge instead of glittering wish. I think ever flowing chalice is better than relic, but I could be wrong. I definitely think the deck is worse than boggles and definitely worse than twin...

a) The Metalcraft route. Where you play enough cheap artifacts to consistently turn Mox Opal and Thoughtcast on (where's Paradise Mantle btw? Seems like a natural fit). This could turn out to be pretty explosive. Turn 1: Bogle + Mantle T2: Mox + equip Mantle + tap Bogle and play Ascendancy + random 0 drop(untap Bogle) + Helix/Knack (untap Bogle)(yeah I know. Merry christmas. But it is theoretically possible). Riddlesmith is another fun card to play around with. If you play enough cheap artifacts you can probably cycle through your deck and find what you need relatively fast. He does turn on the opponents removal though.
b) The control route. I'd play more card draw (like Thirst and maybe some Delve card draw), disruption (Bolt, Path) and counters here and cut down on the win cons.
I know that Gladecover Scout puts you in a 4th color. But between Opal and maybe Mantle + some rainbow lands (like Glimmervoid) it should be doable to run her. A serious upgrade from Stalker imo, when you run Artful Dodge in your deck.
EDIT: but no matter what, I'd cut most of the tutors. They're not terrible but also not the greatest when you need several different pieces and not just one. Cantrips (like Serum Visions, Thoughtcast etc.) are generally better when you're not looking for one specific card, but several.

I've found the wishes are required, the most important card to get is the Ascendancy and with an Ascendancy down, you can generally loot for the pieces your missing. That said, running thirsts along with the wishes has been an improvement.
How quickly does the deck kill on average? I'm working on a Jeskai Ascendancy Storm list, so convince me that your deck kills at least as quickly. (I'm getting a Turn 4-5 goldfish on average and one Turn 2 kill against an actual opponent with Ascendancy Storm. However, the closest I have to maindeck disruption is Glittering Wish.)
