A turbo piece that you can draw a card off on the turn it comes into play, and doubles as a wincon!
Unfortunately, does red/UWR even contribute anything to turbofog?
You don't have to run American colors. I'm running Esper and I will probably slip in a steam vents to test the idea of this card. It may also make me go owl netsuke version again with the visions

I saw this card about an hour ago, and I must say, if it fits any deck well, it's TurboFog.
Sorry if I missed it, but what if an Esper version of of the deck ran Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver in the SB as an alternate win con? Is it too much of a "win-more" against midrange decks?
Idk... ashiok has always seemed underwhelming to me. Her ultimate doesn't really do much bc they will draw their hand back with our turbo pieces. Any removal they have will be shot at their own creature since most of our lists don't really run creatures, and exiling 3 cards off the top isn't bad but I think we have faster options. Maybe I'm wrong. Give it a shot and let us know. I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet so that leads me to believe Noone has tried it yet
I am heavily considering playing this list. I would get the budget version and play it for awhile and then upgrade to the non-budget if I really fell in love with it. I played UW tutelage in standard for awhile and loved it. This article really got me thinking about switching to this as my main modern deck.
Tutelage is really what makes this deck come alive. We draw so many cards and each one triggers it. If you're going with those lists, I wouldn't run Jura unless your using him as your 3rd win con. Personally I prefer champion of justice. He gets huge and can wipe the board in a pinch. There's no need for a 3rd wrath in the board and I think we all have decided that unless tokens is a thing in your meta that the new o-ring type card is a fine replacement. You definitely want Leyline though. The so really needs to be geared towards tron and burn. Those are our worst match ups. And we kind of have to pray not to play against emmy. I play an Esper list that is similar to the list in the article. It was fun to watch his games. Turbo is probably in the best position it has ever been in modern since everyone is running eldrazi, affinity, boggles, zoo, infect, etc. Those decks we prey on and combo decks in modern without splinter twin pretty much all use "targeted" win cons so Leyline just wins games. You may also want a 2nd elixir or another way to shuffle back in. If it's on the bottom and your playing against control or a deck that has a way to shuffle back in, you want it for the long run instead of it possibly sitting at the bottom of your deck. Fetch lands are up to you. Now there's possibly another way to go with netsuke + visions. Also... he could have played better against merfolk. He plays a tap land over fortress when he had the ability to tap both his temple bells to possibly draw 2 1 mana fogs. He drew 1 but didn't have the mana to play another and if he had tapped his bell with fortress, he might have lived. Counter magic is why I play as many 1 mana fogs as possible.
I agree. I am going to run this list for awhile minus the Gideon. I just don't think he is good for this list. I do think that I will look into leylines later for the sideboard. I was impressed how well this budget build did overall. I think you are probably right about the second elixer as well. After testing I will see what's best.
I've been playing turbofog for almost 10 yrs now. It's my pet deck and I've had plenty of forfeits at state level competition. The deck has great potential in the right field. I've had the chance to go 8-2 at 2 different states. I've run all kinds of variants and color combos. I've tried megim/caress +silence and owl netsuke versions along with superfriends versions. Feel free to ask anything or try anythin. I like the idea of the new Jace in our deck too. Just don't personally feel like picking him up. I love my Esper list currently
I think he could be good, but maybe too expensive. I'm really hoping my deck will come in soon so I can start fogging up people. My local meta is pretty creature heavy. Only a couple of combo players.
Yeah... idk. I try to not play planeswalkers unless their ultimate is back breaking. I found that they are usually too expensive and you always want to play them a turn late so you can keep fog mana up to protect them. Champion of justice is great bc most of the planeswalkers I want to play land on turn 5. He lands turn 5 but I have fog mana up too. His ultimate is also sick. I usually use him as my alt win-con bc he's hard to deal with, avoids most removal, is indestructible and can be activated after a wrath, and is a wrath himself
It kills pretty much all combos g1 and burn doesn't have an answer g1. Why lose to combo g1? Why lose to burn g1? Its just an auto win against some mus and makes it hard for others
I took the 4 to the main and haven't regretted it yet and it most likely won't change due to how much it has proven itself. It stops planeswalker targeted removal, stops 8 rack, stops grapeshot, stops valakut, stops any mill strategy, stops burn minus eidolon. Just has proven itself to be in the main. They would have to print so.etching pretty spectacular for me to take them out of the main at this point. The other thing is that I know we need 4 in the 75 and seeing how many decks LoS can hurt, I'm boarding it in a lot so why not free up the sb slots to add more hate against decks that we have a hard time against?
We did see this but he doesn't really face any decks we have trouble against and like I said... he makes a few mistakes here and there but I'm no pro. Lol. If there are more vids, I'd love to see them. There's a guy on YouTube who plays a mono white version. His name is T1Glistenerelf
I'm thinking about mirroring my paper list on mtgo and trying to stream or just record some videos. I'm excited about turbo fog. I can't wait to play it in multiple formats as well.
Would love to see it. You should open your cue saying modern testing (tron or burn only) we need to figure out what the best cards against tron/burn/control are. Those are our worst mus
So far... Jund is honestly the worst I have played against with this list. It can be terribly frustrating. Every creature match up just seems easy though. Jund for some reason can just get its feet in and remove every artifact or enchantment I need.
What do you think of this list for a Azorious Turbo Fog.. I love the 4 Ghost Quarter Mainboard mainly because it can help against Tron game 1 and some pesky control matches.. I'm thinking cutting one Leyline because a lot of time I draw it when I need a Fog.. like moving maybe 1 to the sideboard?
I have been playing with a modern turbo fog idea. My deck is built around Sphinx's Tutelage as my win condition. My plan is to fog long enough to mill them out. My spells fall into two main categories (prevent damage and draw). my side board focuses on control and life gain for those more difficult match ups. Please give me feedback. I would like to possibly take this deck to a GP.
Main Board
4 Ethereal Haze
4 Holy Day
4 Dawn Charm
3 Angelsong
3 Riot Control
3 Peek
3 Visions of Beyond
3 Sphinx's Revelation
2 Alhammarret's Archive
2 Elixir of Immortality
3 Supreme Verdict
4 Sphinx's Tutelage
4 Glacial Fortress
4 Prairie Stream
7 Islands
7 Plains
Maybes
Ancestral Vision
Pollen Lullaby
Spinx of the Final Word
I like getting double duty out of cards if possible:
Dawn Charm gives me some control main board.
Angelsong gives me draw if i don't need it as a fog.
Peek lets me see what is coming and gives me the all important card draw (I know a lot of people use Gitaxian Probe instead, I prefer not to be tempted with Phyrexian Mana).
I like Riot Control because it prevents all damage not just combat damage and it gives me life gain.
I like Ethereal Haze because it prevents non-combat damage dealt by creatures.
I like Visions of Beyond late game as it becomes a draw 3 for one blue.
I have Terminus sideboard for indestructible creatures.
Elixir of Immortality is great because it restocks my library with fogs and helps offset life loss especially if Alhammarret's Archive is on the board.
Alhammarret's Archive speeds up Spinx's Tutelage by doubling my draw spell effects.
Sorry for the long post. i just wanted get my thoughts out so that anyone who replies will know where I am coming from on the deck design.
