Hi folks, it's been a long time since I last posted here but I've just thought about Karn, the Great Creator in this deck and I am hyped for having the ability to play 7 Belchers. Going to brew up a list now...
Hi guys, long time lurker here.
Manatee how is your testing going? I'm experimenting a little with a r\g brew with madcap experiment\platinum emperion wombo combo and a trasformational sideboard but I'm having little luck in my lgs as I always end being one or two turns slower then my opponents. Which turn do you effectively fire for lethal and how any lands you still have in the deck while going for the kill?
Vivien Reid: surprised not mentioned before. Fit's this deck perfect in my opinion. Uptick for selection, downtick for artifact/enchantment removal (against Dsphere, Stony Silence, Pithing Needle, Spellskite, Platinum Angel etc.) It's downtick is most useful after sideboarding ofcourse. But it's pretty good, to have some maindeck artifact/enchantment removal I think.
Ancient Stirrings: with only 16 legal hits mainboard, I sometimes doubt this card. A mis hit is quiet painfull in a ramp/combo deck. On the other side, it hits most of my sideboard cards and should give a solid game 2 and 3.
Karn, Scion of Urza: Got a place in this deck, to increase the Ancient Stirrings targets and give some additional card advantage. It supports our mid-range and grindy games. Get's better with additional artifacts after sideboarding.
Force of Vigor: great sidebboard card here. You can easily dump your land selection cards into it, when you already found 7 forests.
Ohter: Once upon a time: could be awesome here! It's a potential free stirrings, but doesn't hit belcher. On the other hand: is does hit lands, ramp creatures and wurmcoil. And therefore, I'm really excited about this card. Curious about your opinion.
Birds of Paradise: A lot of decks play this one. But with Chancellor and Vivien I already 'covered' the air-strikes. Which makes Birds just a random ramp card in an mono green deck. I did prefer card selection cards over birds of paradise
Anyways: that's it. As said, currently buying into this belcher deck. Really looking forward playing it.
I'd like to hear you opinion on some of the thought and choices.
The more I think about this deck, the more I want to add some Once upon a time and Solemn Simulacrum in it. I think I’ll add 2 of both of them. Replacing karn and vessel.
Solemn is a fantastic card here right? It ramps, it chump blocks and it’s replacing itself.
Moreover, it’s a target for stirrings, once upon a time and Vivien. And we play it mostly on turn 3. Sometimes turn 2. Maybee I’ll add 3 to the list
I’ve been brewing with Once Upon a Time and I’m running 4 lands. Also I’m tinkering with Irencrag Feat because it says you can only play one more spell being Goblin Charbelcher. It says nothing about abilities or of the mana can be used for abilities 4+3=7.
I ran into a couple problems but I think they’re minimal now with Chromatic Sphere to swap spirit guide mana for green to traverse or caravan.
I’m on mobile so I’m not good at posting decks but I don’t feel tags will be very needed here.
Mountain 2
Stomping ground 2
Wild cantor 4
Street wraith 4
Simian spirit guide 4
Chancellor of the Tangle 4
Manamorphose 4
Pyretic Ritual 4
Desperate ritual 4
Irencrag feat 4
Ancient stirring 4
Caravan Vigil 4
Traverse the Ulvenwald 4
Once Upon a Time 4
Chromatic Sphere 4
Goblin Charbelcher 4
I can get a pretty consistent T3 shot, some times T2, some times T4 but if you don’t hit it, you lose.
I had bauble in the sphere slot because it’s free info that draws a card but here is what happens.
Guide or tangle mana for traverse or caravan, if you got caravan do that one 2nd but you always get a mountain and get stuck because you can’t tutor anymore.
OUaT is really good because cycling wraith, guide, chancellor’s mana ability do not effect the 0 cost.
It also has a high number of relevant targets:
Spirit guide
Street wraith
Wild cantor
Any land
Some one earlier in the thread said something about 1 cost tutoring instead of 2 cost with Nissa’s Triumph.
It’s not the cmc that makes it bad, it’s the double green part because I believe sylvan scrying is still pretty good.

I've found I die to Madcap hitting belcher more than I'd like.
I'd tend to avoid firing with more than two lands in deck of possible, but sometimes you need the hail marys
