I like Leonin Skyhunter with flying and Spectral Rider with Intimidate but I know there are other good 2 drops. Heck Knights seem have so many options and versatility at the 2 drop and 3 drop. It would be nice to see more Knights and better 1 drops in up coming sets.
Ive been playing around a lot with Lightning Greaves, dropping him on all in coming Knights especially a turn 4 Hero of Bladehold would be awesome.
Green means Fauna Shaman is accessible(even though it's not a knight, it's still a great creature). Which also means you could do something cool with her and Puresteel Paladin, along with Mox Opals and different swords to give protection.
Could be fun, and add some mean creature search as well.
It's always nice to have tutorable effects, except Fauna Shaman is too slow for the format. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they even play it in GW hatebears.

Between the 2 of them, I prefer Leonin Skyhunter over Spectral Rider, being about to block flyers is also a very relevant ability. Yup, really hope to see better 1 drops, Student of Warfare is nice from a combat perspective, but I hope to see more useful abilities from Knights.
I'm not really into Lightning Greaves to be honest. I could imagine having Greaves on a Knight Exemplar but that's about the best scenario I could envision.
Its a good card to consider. It would kind of depend on the deck your building and the 1 drops you have/want and your style/usage of the Knights. Student of Warfare and Aether Vial seem to be the top 1 drops. I use War Falcon to strike quick and have Knight of Glory and other Exalted to pump him and swing with his flying for the early game but once you stabilize with guys like Knight Exemplar, Knight of the Reliquary, etc its not as effective in the mid/late game and doest take advantage of the Knight bonuses.
Champion of the Parish can get big but not as fast or big in a Knight deck. He can be good in a Knight deck. Id say play test and see how he works for you. For me what Ive found is that in Naya Humans and Soldier deck he is much more effective.
I think the biggest issue with the Champion is the target he paints on himself. I have built several decks with him and he is the most common target for removal. Because he is so bolt able and has no protection or evasion he either dies a quick death before he becomes a serious threat or get chumped all day long. I wish it wasnt so because I love the card, but everyone know what he can do, and they proactivily take him out.
I've played the Champ with an all-human cast of Knights for months. He's great early; perhaps better on turn one than Student of Warfare. He's not so great as a top deck but he might still be the second best all-around one-drop creature available. He does catch a lot of bullets, but that's not a criticism; something is going to catch them and if they have to use it on your one-drop they don't have it for your other cards.
I think with lists that doesn't run Aether Vial, Champion of the Parish could be an alternative 5th-8th 1 drop (my first choice 1cc creature is still Student of Warfare) if you really want to hit early and fast. Personally, I usually play as mid-range with my Knights so Champion is not that suitable for my style of play.
For GW Knights, I have been thinking to myself whether Utopia Sprawl for mana acceleration to pump Student of Warfare or cast other creatures a little earlier is a good idea.

It's definitely viable, if not a little circumstantial (for having a Forest in play). Why not just use Noble Hierarch instead?

That's an interesting suggestion, probably the best application for him in a knights deck. Albeit you would want your list to run a LOT of creatures to make this work, probably 26-28. This means you will probably be unable to use the amazing Knight of Meadowgrain or evasive Leonin Skyhunter. Although Fiendslayer Paladin is probably a decent alternative for Meadowgrain... And despite looking like the grim reaper, Knight of the Holy Nimbus is also a human.
We do need another solid 1 drop. I think i'm going to try this.

1) Noble Hierarch is not a knight. I like to keep my creatures as knights.
2) More seriously, I can't use its mana ability on the turn I cast that creature. In mid- to late-game, this tends to be a "dead" card for me.
3) The "it dies to removal" meme is old and busted, but in my playgroup, it still happens. Sure, that removal may draw fire way from my knights, but I've lost my mana acceleration in the process. There isn't as much enchantment removal in my playgroup.
I don't have a lot of green cards in my GW deck, so the low Forest count is a real problem. I've increased my Temple Garden cards and hope I don't run into Tectonic Edge.
This is the most recent version of my Knights deck with the Champ. Of course, when I play a Cavern, I say "Humans", not "Knights". The deck does about as well as anything else I play although I'm hoping for better things with my new Jund pile.
Take the sideboard with a grain of salt; it's tuned for one of the places I play.

Nice list, it looks like something I might play if I was going mono-white and using Champion of the Parish. Not nit-picking here, my personal preference will be to:
- 1 Knight of the White Orchid
- 1 Mutavault
+ 2 White Shield Crusader (I can't think better what 2cc knights to add in other then White Knight or this).
Reason for reducing KotWO is because fetching for lands is less critical in your deck list which doesn't have any 4 drops. I also worry about Mutavault lack of interaction with Student of Warfare, KotWO and with casting the knights thus I cut one out. 3x Mutavault should be enough to keep up the creature count.
This weekend, I was amazed that Horizon Canopy, which I used in my GW Knights deck, has greatly risen in price on the secondary market. When I got them, it was $5-$6. Is some other deck using these, or is it just an old, rare card?
I was thinking about put a Wilt-Leaf Cavalier, but this 3 white mana are hard to get.
The objective here is to use the amount of mana for great creatures via Mirror Entity, or to pump the Student of Warfare, or put the Clerics via Heliod.
What could you do to make it competitive?

Green-White Hatebears uses it and I imagine Green-White Death and Taxes would do as well. I'm referring to the Modern versions, of course.

GW Maverick and Mono-W Death and Taxes in Legacy and a whole slew of decks in modern. It's a fantastic draw-land for non-blue decks in any format really.

I just got back from weekly Modern with GW Vial Knights, ended up 2-1 (We usually only get enough for 3 rounds, rarely we'll get 4). Played against Scapeshift (2-0), GW Death and Taxes (2-0), and UWR Control (1-2). UWR is always the hardest match up for me, they just have so much removal. What can we do to deal with so much removal? Right now my current strategy is side out Mirran Crusaders, some Knight Exemplars, and my Knight of the Reliquary's for Thalia, Ethersworn Canonist, and Gaddock Teeg.

Collecting Timbermare, hit me up if you have any for trade
Round 1 VS Scapeshift (2-0) sided out 3 Path to Exile, 1 Knight Exemplar, 1 Mirran Crusader. Sided in 2 Gaddock Teeg and 3 Aven Mindcensor.
Game 1 Knight of Meadowgrain and Rancor put me out of normal burn range pretty quick, he couldn't draw removal in time. Game 2 an early Gaddock Teeg stopped him from a turn 5 Scapeshift + Prismatic Omen combo, Wilt-Leaf Liege kept Teeg safe from his removal.
Round 2 VS GW Death and Taxes (2-0) Sided out nothing
I honestly should have lost this except for him making a mistake in tracking how much life I had left. Survived an attack with 1 left then swung with the team for game. Game 2 his own Leonin Arbiter kept him from getting a replacement land on turn 3 from my Ghost Quarter, then he couldn't deal with double Steward of Valeron, Wilt-Leaf Liege, and Knight Exemplar.
Round 3 VS UWR Control (1-2) Sided out 3 Mirran Crusader, 3 Knight Exemplar, 2 Knight of the Reliquary, 2 Rancor, 1 Knight of the Reliquary, sided in 2 Gaddock Teeg, 2 Thalia, 3 Aven Mindcensor, 2 Ethersworn Canonist, 2 Rest In Peace
Game 1 I get a hand with Vial and 4 Knights, he has a hand full of Lightning Bolt, Lightning Helix, and Electrolyze. I get 5 land draws in a row and he kills me with Snapcasters and flashing back the burn spells.
Game 2 Took most of the time left in round, Rest In Peace and Gaddock Teeg keep him from his planeswalkers, Sphinx's Revelation, and Snapcaster nonsense. Ghost Quarters and Tectonic Edge keep his Celestial Colonnade's from swinging. Comes down to both of us at 1 life and no cards in hand, I draw a creature first.
Game 3 I manage to get him down to 4 with a leveled Student of Warfare, but I don't draw anything to back him up and I die on his last turn.
