I refuse to play more dailies on MTGO. The prizes are just awful compared to my paper shop.
Unfortunately, that's the only way the deck can potentially break the Deck Creation phase since that's the only published results outside of paper majors and GPs.
I've talked with people during the last tourney I joined and some have said that the GP Charlotte placing was a fluke (I completely disagree with that sentiment). Maybe once more and more people sleeve up this deck more and place.
I honestly don't care what area of the forum this deck is in. I'll just keep doing well at paper events and enjoy the fact that most people still have no idea what's going on.

I'm not sure how criteria is analyzed to promote decks in the forum, its based on tournament reports, but I'm not sure where they draw the line. I know decks are evaluated on the first monday of every month and since monday went by and we're still here, I guess its not enough yet. That or someone forgot to evaluate it, lol. Doesn't really help much that some moderators hate the deck. Looking at you Lantern! Irony? lol, there were some talks about the deck in the ban discussion thread, pages 366 & 367. Some people were saying it should be banned because its no fun and others responded that they should just concede when they get locked. Another point they brough is that it feels like eggs, to what others again replied that eggs was banned because after time was over it extended the extra 5 turns up to 10 minutes a turn, something this deck does not do. After time this deck takes its 5 extra turns quickly and its over, no overextending for up to 50 minutes like eggs. Then they carried on with ban talks of other decks.

If they actually banned Lantern I think I would literally quit playing Magic.

Weiiiird. I like the Cloister + Mindstorm as 1 ofs, Cloister always seemed really fun if you could consistently get to that much mana. Any idea why he's running Infest in the sideboard over Drown in Sorrow though? Is there something I'm missing there? Kinda makes me question the whole list haha.
I've updated my list after illncontroll and shadowgrippers reports, moving back to this being my main deck for the next few months. I really like all the changes people have been running with, the deck is feeling much more tuned and much more consistent. I played vs BR control (basically jund with more controlling elements instead of greens beaters) and won 5 of 7 games, 4 of which were post-board. Also played a quick game against a Grixis Twin build running Angler/Tasigur alongside the combo essentially, and almost won through Kommand -> Cryptic -> Cryptic -> Exarch -> Twin (with two snaps in hand). If he hadn't chosen to have me discard off the Kommand at the start, I would've had the mana to Duress myself and be at zero when he went off, instead of 2 with the lock up (Kommand already extracted, would've been keeping him off Cryptic and mana for Snap->Cryptic until I could extract).
I don't think any of my previous versions would've had game against that hand though, so I'm impressed.

Me too, I literally don't play any other deck other than occasionally fun testing the Cheerios deck. I used to play magic at the university, then quit when Kamigawa was released. I came back around the time Puresteel Paladin was in standard and fell in love with it. When Puresteel rotated out of standard I crossed over to modern just to keep playing Paladin but Paladin in modern wasn't that good. So one day I opened up the game software, filtered to show only the modern card pool and filtered it to show Mana cost and card type in ascending order to see if any particular card peaked my interest. This is how this deck got created:

"Hmmm... So i get to see what my opponent is going to draw? How can I benefit from that?"
And now here we are today. lol.
Seriously though. If the deck one day becomes so oppressively good that it needs to be nerfed, what do you guys think would be banned without killing the deck? If you ban Lantern the deck ceases to exist, if you ban Bridge the deck stops being competitive. What is left? Mill rocks? Ancient Stirrings?
How about Porphyry Nodes for early games if you don't have a bridge ?
That card was in my original W/U list, it did well but it wasn't fast enough. Once Bridge started being played and W got the axe it got forgotten. In the early days it was also comboed with Forbidden Orchard to keep it alive.
Oust was another card in the original list that had synergy with the mill rocks before a Lantern was active.
Edit: This was the original list. Yes, you can laugh at it.
Nodes are crap against any deck which just occasionally has to have creatures. Primeval Titan, twinned Deceiver Exarch and Ulamog laugh at it. Nodes would be a lot better if it could stay even without creatures.
Thats what I meant by "it wasn't fast enough". We had to play it and then prevent the opponent from drawing any creature while taking beats from the big guys while Nodes cleaned up the smaller ones first. The burden on the mill rocks was too much since everything was a threat, once Bridge became part of the core most creatures were harmless if they had no threatening abilities and we could focus on milling spells that could break Bridge or combo off for a win basically.

Heh I faced Lantern on Cockatrice. He really did quit right away, but he was very nice and cordial about everything other than his utter spite for the deck itself. I think I ended up loading another deck and playing it vs him.
Also, I want Lantern of Insight to get recognized until it is banned. I'd be happy either way if any part of the core deck got banned. Heck I'm happy Lantern of Insight, the 10 cents uncommon, is now worth about $5 middling on TCG Player. Look at Telepathy...now picture that as a $5 card. That is what happened.
This deck still has so much potential, but much like how it plays, just takes time getting there. And if it does't? Man it made some reallly crappy cards worth money.

Top Control: The only pure lockdown deck in Modern.
I think Shadowgripper (Zac Elsik) deserves credit for this as well. The top 16 at GP Charlotte may not have been enough to move us up the ladder, but it certainly made a lot of people pick up the deck and the reports started pouring in to push us over the limit.
Now get back to work maggots!!! lol
I'll post a video later today, just had a match versus GU Infect. Since when is infect packing Nature's Claim mainboard?
edit: 3 years clicking on "deck creation" to get to the thread, I need to get used to the change since I'm still clicking it on error lol

Since a lot more decks are putting Spellskite mainboard, the guy must've decided to put it to increase his chances on G1. Although if that was the case, I would much rather put in Twisted Image as it has synergy with the main deck (i.e. Pendelhaven)

Nah. I watched his room replays and figured out what happened. He had a previous match, funnily enough, against a Lantern list. While he was sideboarding his opponent left and I joined in. So he had correctly pre-sideboarded against me for our first game of the match. I won't upload the game since thats what happened. I still won 2-0. Game 1 he got my Bridge with a Claim on the opening hand, which caught me off guard, but I still managed to Ruins thats Bridge in time. Game 2 a turn 2 Spellskite followed by 2 Bridges was enough to stop him till I got the Lantern.

That's good to know. It's nice that we have a favorable match up against Affinity and Infect (nut draws withstanding)

Even funnier, I was just joining random games to find someone else playing the deck while I did something else on my desk. And I did find someone playing Lantern, he was playing the same Infect opponent and also beat him 2-0.
