Hey, I've been recently inspired by the modern 5c humans deck and i started to think if I am able to somehow adjust it to my budget and to keep some of its playability. (I cant afford aether vial and most of the mana base)
I'm aware that this instantly lose against blood moon but in my environment there are no decks playing it, also my local meta is mostly creature based with a few exceptions. I'm wandering if I can strech out the mana base so I can play Mantis Rider (of course if it is worth playing in this deck) given that I only have access to fast lands, pain lands, ancient ziggurats and unclaimed territory . My other maybeboard/sideboard options are: Thalia, Heretic Cathar, Tireless tracker, Fiend Hunter, Rogue Refiner, Hanweir Garrison, Duskwatch Recruiter and Mirran Crusader. What are your opinions and thoughts about this deck?
I don't think you can afford to play Windbrisk Heights in this deck, with so few lands you don't want tapped lands in your deck.
I'd also consider adding 1-2x lands as you only have 4x mana dorks and no A.Vials.
4 Metallic Mimic
//Creature (28)
4 Avacyn's Pilgrim
4 Thraben Inspector
4 Champion of the Parish
4 Kitesail Freebooter
4 Mayor of Avabruck
4 Thalia's Lieutenant
4 Reflector Mage
4 Path to Exile
//Sorcery (4)
4 Gather the Townsfolk
//Land (20)
4 Ancient Ziggurat
2 Concealed Courtyard
4 Razorverge Thicket
2 Seachrome Coast
4 Unclaimed Territory
4 Windbrisk Heights

3 Metallic Mimic
//Creature (30)
4 Avacyn's Pilgrim
2 Thraben Inspector
4 Champion of the Parish
4 Kitesail Freebooter
4 Mayor of Avabruck
4 Thalia's Lieutenant
2 Duskwatch Recruiter
3 Reflector Mage
1 Anafenza, The Foremost
2 Thalia, Heretic Cathar
4 Path to Exile
//Sorcery (3)
3 Lead the Stampede
//Land (20)
4 Ancient Ziggurat
2 Gemstone Mine
4 Razorverge Thicket
2 City of Brass
4 Unclaimed Territory
4 Windbrisk Heights
2 Thraben Inspector
2 Sin Collector
1 Kambal, Consul of Allocation
2 Harsh Mentor
3 Auriok Champion
1 Reflector Mage
1 Lead the Stampede
3 Xathrid Necromancer
I've put Auriok Champion to sideboard instead of Soul Warden because despite being W more to cast I could make some use of it in other matchups than burn. I'm still thinking about including Mantis Rider instead of Metallic Mimic maybe? I also consider trying Experiment One in Thraben Inspector / Avacyn's Pilgrim slot.
I'd also consider adding 1-2x lands as you only have 4x mana dorks and no A.Vials.
I'd go with Mana Confluence over Gemstone Mine and and add at least a couple of basics in the Windbrisk slots
as Ghost Quarter and Path to Exile are common enough even without thinking about Blood Moon.
I'd go with Rogue Refiner over Thraben Inspector and Duskwatch Recruiter (not enough mana to sink into it) as a cantrip-creature (like a 3-mana Silvergil Adept).
Maybe Duskwatch or Tireless Tracker should replace Lead the Stampede though.
Pain Seer can do a decent Dark Confidant impression and draw cards.
I don't really like Metallic Mimic here, it isn't really necessary with Lieutenant/Mayor that act as anthems in the deck.
I'd go with Auriok Champion (or Lantern Scout) in the maindeck instead (good for negating the lifeloss from City/Confluence, Lantern Scout can also be a decent SB card for big life swings.
Another option can be Imposing Sovereign as sort of extra copies of Thalia 2.0.
Mirran Crusader can replace Auriok in the SB for the protection.
Grand Abolisher can be a decent SB card as sort-of a Thalia alternative.
