I'm building this as part of a deck-building competition with friends. There are several rules:
Each of us is adopting the persona of a powerful Planeswalker in canon, formed around a specific theme. Mine is obviously Tibalt.
We can only be in two of the colors said planeswalkers have been printed in. For instance, a Sarkhan planeswalker can be UR, UG or UB, but not UBR.
We can only use creatures said canon Planeswalkers have used or are thematically linked to. For instance, a Kiora planeswalker could only use Merfolk and stuff that doesn't get bounced by Whelming Wave, and not, say, Tarmogoyf. Likewise, Jace can only have Illusions and not Delver of Secrets.
The other reason we can't use stuff like Goyfs is that we each have to pick a Most Expensive Card that any of us could hypothetically afford, that all our other cards need to be (ideally much) cheaper than. Mine is obviously Lightning Bolt.
Mine is focusing on Tibalt being sort of a Faust-like figure, an infernal gentleman who plays with mind-**** and burn as much as he does summoning demons and devils to do his bidding. I ditched Pain Seer for Sin Prodder because Prodder fits the burn/devil theme waaaay better.
