I am not advocating for a ban at all. But if WOTC wanted to take action against the humans deck what card would possibly get banned? Meddling mage, reflector mage, Thalia, kitesail? Even a land possibly. Surly not noble or vail. I don't know the best target. Of coarse the best thing to do would be to wait and let the meta shift naturally, but history shows that is not the norm after pro tours.
I am lookong forward to testing out Jace in Lantern Control. I'm unsure whether it should just be a 1-of or a 2-of though. I am kind of hoping it get unbanned now

Bloodbraid elves have started spiking in Europe. Also the confirmed Jace reprint in Masters 25 makes me anxious...
Yes, because when wizards reprints a card they automatically are planning on unbanning the card. I'll believe they do an unban when I see the announcement saying they've done it. Masters reprints are just there to stuff value into the set and Jace is an obvious include from the Zendikar Block. We'll probably see SFM get a reprint in the set as well.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Actually, Aether Vial was a ban consideration back to where Modern was started but they decided against it in the end(WOTC).
Hrm, this is the first I've heard of that. Where'd they say that?
During the format's inception, I believe it was a video interview - the notion is believable since the card was banned in Extended.
Maybe you guys are thinking of this article, specifically: "There are some very powerful cards in the format that we didn't ban. For example, Hypergenesis and Æther Vial have both been banned in Extended. This banned list is an experiment. We intend to use it at the Community Cup, but we reserve the right to change it if we decide to unleash Modern on the world at large."

Stoneforge Mystic would surely fit into this Humans deck. Since Humans is doing so well in Modern, is this a really viable unban? Not sure. Opinions?
I have to disagree with the claim that Stoneforge Mystic would "surely" fit into Humans. Here's the problem. Your typical manabase for Humans is 4x Ancient Ziggurat 4x Unclaimed Territory 4x Cavern of Souls 4x Horizon Canopy 1x Plains 2x Seachrome Coast. But 12 of those lands can only tap for colored mana to cast spells, meaning none of those 12 can tap for the White mana to activate Stoneforge Mystic, leaving only 7 lands that can. If you can't reliably activate the thing, then it's a whole lot weaker.
Sure, you could make changes to try to accommodate it, like maybe swapping out Unclaimed Territory with Gemstone Mine. But whatever changes you make are going to weaken the deck in other areas.

I've got mine ready and waiting. :]
Yeah, I actually went out and bought one tonight.
Worse case scenario, he doesn't get unbanned and I have a card that holds value.
Best case scenario, he gets unbanned, and I bought him cheap before that massive price spike that would happen

If you can't beat Tron with an early Moon, you may be a good player elsewhere, but you should not come to a major Modern event. Tron CAN win through that, but it requires being unopposed until turn 7. All the hate in the world won't help against any deck without follow-up.

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Titanshift seems to be masquerading as a tier 1 deck. I've felt that it isn't good enoigh for a long time now and empirically, this is now clear as day.
That is a BEAUTIFUL day 2 meta. Nobody over 10%, and maybe more importantly, nothing stands out to me as over performance, none of the day 2 percentages are significantly higher than day 1. I was worried that we would have that pretty Day 1 and then have every single person on one specific deck make it to Day 2 and boost it to 20% or something. This...this is nice

Very interesting to see Jeskai and ETron both represent really high conversion rates. Jeskai likely loves the top 5 decks listed, but gets utterly murdered by ETron itself; must have dodged it for the most part.
Looks like they lumped all Jeskai decks together despite Queller/Geist builds being totally different from Secure/Gearhulk builds.
Given the combination of Jeskai, it's interesting to see the separation of Grixis Shadow and "Traverse Shadow," and conversion of Traverse is the highest of the field.
Humans is a deck that gets to play 12 painless rainbow lands and play great disruptive spells stapled onto synergistic bodies. Not surprised seeing it do well.
Titanshift likely fell apart because the 5 most popular decks all give it trouble.
Overall, PT looks full of diversity and matchup lotteries. Will be interesting to see which decks Top 8. But it definitely feels like rolling the dice and hoping for good matchups + good top decks (which is basically a representation of Modern as a whole, for better or for worse)

Or, crazy thought, perhaps those jeskai players are very good and capable of shaving down a few percentage points against e-tron. There are no 100/0 matchups.

We will see. Its 17 UWR vs 20 ETron, the Top 16 will show us who got through who.
- Jeskai Control is a tier 1 deck, great conversion rate, along with E-Tron. People picked it up.
- Traverse Shadow not being played too much, but a supreme conversion rate, although N is small, thus that conversion rate does not mean that much.
- Storm is not a bannable deck, too bad of a conversion rate.
- Jund is non existent. Could use some help.
- White colour is still the weakest Modern colour by far. Could use some help.
Humans is white
Burn is white (at least a bit)
Jeskai is white
UW control is white
Devoted Company is white
Junk is whiteish
Mardu Pyromancer is whiteish
This PT shows that both the "Control is weak" and "White is underplayed" paradigms do not hold, at all.

Bad keeps with blood moon and no action - they deserve to lose
Legacy - LED Dredge, ANT & WDnT
but Blood Moon w/ no pressure doesn't really help out against Tron. At all.
It seems like Reid Duke is mainly the only GBx player in contention of making top 8. GBx is just garbage now.
Surprised to see how poorly GDS is doing. Traverse's conversation rate is crazy, but the small N and draft makes me unsure what to think
Blue is actually good in modern now, guys, the pro's weren't afraid to play it.
This PT looks healthy, and I'm glad a bunch of us were wrong about it being a linear mess.
My only fear is that WOTC may view modern so healthy they don't risk unbanning BBE or SFM, which is starting to look like a real possibility.
