So has Triskaidekaphobia gotten any serious consideration in Modern? It's sort of a one card combo and non creature based, assuming of course you don't consider Tree of Perdition. The problem is finding it consistently. The best I can come up with is Sidisi, Undead Vizier off of Eldritch Evolution. That sort of locks you into a BG shell which isn't the worst. But it just doesn't seem fast enough, given that you need a 3-drop Evolution target. So Triskaidekaphobia 4? Assume the Tree on 5 and a T6 kill? Nothing to write home about... Still, a non-graveyard combo in black with Discard seems good. Even without the Tree, it is a clock. Most decks struggle with enchantments G1.
It's very very volatile. Unless you have a consistent way of setting the opponents health to 13 (Tree is pretty slow and a one-trick thing) then having Triskaidekaphobia as your main enchantment is not going to be winning games. I could see pairing it with Burn, but even then the opponent can keep changing their life with fetchlands.
Death's Shadow won't be constant, Burn has Eidolon, Company has Kitchen Finks, Valakut can shock themselves, Ad Naus can drop their life, Tron has Wurmcoil, etc.... Thinking about it every deck has some way to keep their life total away from 13 (excluding lands).

The only thing I can think of to keep someone's life total at 13 would be to use something like Tree of Perdition and then Harmless Offering your opponent a Platinum Emperion. But that is way too many hoops to jump through.

Considering that the combo is 8 mana, and cracking a fetchland is all it takes to stop it, I don't see this going anywhere. But it is a neat idea. For a two-card "I win" combo, Saheeli is much better, and it's not even that good in Modern.
Was batting this around too as a thought experiment.
Part of me thinks a Jund shell would help because you can run Grove of the Burnwillows to help keep your opponent at the life total you want. Grove is also surprisingly effective against Shadow decks.

Oh wow, how did I not know this card existed?
