Ah, how good is Sunset Pyramid, especially in colours (and lack thereof) with poor card draw? Too slow for Affinity and Eggs/Ironworks Combo, I suspect (Thoughtcast generates CA cheaper and faster), too prone to being blown up by Gx Tron's own Oblivion Stone, but maybe stuff like Skred Red and Eldrazi Tron may pick it up? ...Big maybe for Lantern Control?
Idk, but it might be a fun enabler for modern miracles (not competitive choice though)
Supreme Will might work ok as a 1 of in U tron. Anticipate didn't feel potent enough. Might be better to stick with Anticipate though . Can't say the same for other strategies however. What will the blue version of Bontu's Last Reckoning look like? UU, Counter target spell, your lands don't untap?

crystal ball "costs" the same on its first scry (3 to cast, 1 to activate) and cheaper from then on. I mean, I guess this can enable instant miracle, but most of the time, the important part is the scry, right? because it enables counterbalance.
Picture oketras last mercy in a UW control shell vs burn. Flashback with snapcaster all day long? Turn 3 this, Turn 4 wrath. GG ez.
How did you turn 4 wrath when your lands didn't untap from turn 3?
Ahh right true. Still seems nice and totally playable as a burn hoser. Sure white has other burn hosers but more options are good. Also this could potentially add 12-14 life for 3 mana. I'm still unclear if this is considered gaining life, but it would seem so.

I think the desired effect you're looking for is a timely reinforcements on turn three into the wrath on four. There's definately a use for this card, but it will take some development and probably be reserved to the kitchen table. (BW Hated?)

Nah this is different than Timely. This is a total reset of life, burn runs out of gas. Timely is a great card but may or may not push the game out of reach. Timely = 2 burns spells to recover. This card could take 5+ burn spells to recover.
All of the "X's last x" cards are sorceries so we wont be getting a counter for blue. Best guess we get a card draw effect. Maybe 3 mana draw 3, dont untap next turn? Also very possible it's just a bounce effect though..

Where did you find this information? Based off of Wizard's history, a cycle of cards are not always a single card type. For an easy example take a looks the command cycles. Do you have a reference for the spells all being sorceries? If not, I'm still hopeful

speculation on what the U/R/G "____'s last ____" spells will be?
My guess is the 1UU one is either draw 3 and lands don't untap, or take an extra turn and lands don't untap. 1GG is likely to be about +1/+1 counters or creature tokens, and I'm really hoping for a playable burn spell from the 1RR one. Something like 1RR: 7 damage to target player, or 1RR 4 damage to target player and 4 damage to target creature that player controls, both with the lands don't untap downside.
Either way, this cycle seems to be the best chance at a modern-playable card in the set. The lands-don't-untap effect isn't quite as much of a downside in modern as it is in standard, and the 2 currently spoiled effects seem crazy powerful for 3 mana.

For an even easier example, look at the other cycle we already know of in HOU:

It is possible they will all be sorceries, but I don't recall seeing anything confirming that yet.
I guess we could take away from comparing the cycles we can guess that if 1 is going not cost 3 but cost 4 it will be the blue one.
I agree that with only 2 currently spoiled we don't have any reason to assume they are all likely to be sorcery. I don't think that it will be a counter since they have already spoiled counters at 2cc and 3cc and this likely eats up the space in the set for those type of affects at those costs.

MaRo's article for the day confirms that they are all mono-color sorceries, but it is possible they will not all cost the same.

Yup, see Dynamite_Private's post just above. I was really hoping some of them would be instants too but unless Maro is straight-up misleading us it looks like they're all sorceries.
My best guesses would probably be something like:
Rhonas's last effort 1GG
Creatures you control get +3/+3 and trample until end of turn
Lands don't untap
Kefnet's last revelation 1UU
Draw 4 cards
Lands dont untap
Hazoret's last judgement 1RR
Deal 5 damage to target creature or player
Lands don't untap
These are all probably kind of optimistic but I'd guess the effects to be somewhat similar.

Drawing 4 is probably too optimistic. Oketra's Last Mercy never really existed as a card, except maybe Resolute Archangel, but thats an effect stapled on a creature, so we dont really know how much that effect would cost sans creature.
But we do know how much Damnation costs, 4, and apparently to unconditionally cut a mana off it the tax is the no untap.
So drawing 4 at 3 mana aint gunna happen. Maybe a counter spell at UU because cancel or draw 3 for 3 cause Concentrate or a 2 mana divination, or something.
But Maro said it was a sorcery cycle, so no counterspells. We also already have 2 coutnerspells this set so prolly not getting any more. I think all 3 will be 3cc. Red's might be land destruction? 1RR destroy target land, it's controller takes 3 damage or something like that.

Yeah I was thinking about that as well, but maybe the "draw a card" part might make it stronger enough. True it costs one more but as you said, the instant speed miracles might be crucial and also, eventually it will draw you 2 cards which is significant advantage.
I am not saying it's gonna be good (crystal ball isn't exactly broken either ) but it might be fun to try.
