With the release of AER, decks and metas are gonna be changing. I was curious as to people's opinions of what cards/decks fortunes will improve as a result (either directly or indirectly) of the new set and the new ban list updates.
My ideas:
Blood Moon and Shadow of Doubt's stock (as well as burn in general) have risen pretty significantly. Fatal Push means that more decks than ever are going to be running fetchlands as an easy way to trigger revolt. This means cards that benefit from that (either by preventing that strategy or benefiting from the lifeloss in burn's case) will be better. I also imagine more decks will run nonbasic lands as there really isn't any reason to run mono-color at this point unless you're running a super linear deck, when adding either R, W, or B gives you access to 1 cmc efficient removal.
Also thanks to Fatal Push, Chalice of the Void set to 1 is a pretty all-around great play for turn 1/2 if you're running a deck that doesn't play with the "big 3" removal spells (Path/Push/Bolt)
Street Wraith & Mishra's Bauble just got a lot better as well, as the only 2 remaining "free" cantrips in Modern.
Tasigur, the golden fang & Gurmag Angler also got better thanks to fatal push, as any deck that cuts copies of Terminate/Path to exile to make space for fatal push (read: Grixis Delver and Jund/Junk) will regret it against any deck that plays delve creatures (Which means Hooting Mandrills can also probably be added to this list)
IMO, Shadow of Doubt doesn't get affected at all because people have been using fecthlands and will be using them now regardless of Fatal or not, it's the way it is. Having 1 or 2 more fetches in decks doesnt mean Shadow is better, it's not a very good card because it makes you loose tempo, many times you won't cath the opponent at all, and it's only really acceptable in heavy control strategies and in heavy Scapeshift metas.
Blood Moon will continue to be good, maybe better with the rise of BUG and Esper strategies thanks to Push, yeah
You cannot say that Chalive is a good T1 play because of Fatal push lol, it's just a card which is playable in certain (limited) archetypes like Eldrazi and simply destroys many Modern decks, now, before, and always.
Wraith and Mishra have lost their main user in Death's Shadow because of Probe ban, so I think their numbers will definitely reduce.
Tasi, Gurmag and Hooting will get MUCH better in a Push/Bolt meta, that's for sure!
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy may rise again thanks to it's interaction with revolt and being able to flashback Push inmmediately killing a 4-mana creature
In Modern it was usually the right thing to always crack you fetch eot to fetch a shock and have a better manabase (only exception being when you're low on life against an aggressive deck and are already having a good manabase). Fatal Push changes that. Will it make Shadow of Doubt better? Yes! Playable? I don't know. Not in the meta we currently have, but with more Scapeshift and Chord decks it seems like an ok card to me.
I don't know if Baby Jace will be playable because of Push. And if he sees play again I think it's more because of an overall slower meta (Caused by Push and the Bans) than because of his flip synergy (which is nice but really not game breaking).
Besides the obvious Delve creatures my personal guess is actually Kitchen Finks. Push will make WBX decks that played 4 Path before probably let play less Paths and it's awesome against anything that doesn't play Path anyway (Grixis, Jund). And on top of that it can only be killed with a revolted Push.
Overall I gotta say it's really hard to make predictions about playable cards because it's just so unsure how the meta will actually turn out.
My guess is actually that Dredge will put up pretty much the same meta share as before because everybody cuts at least some of their gravehate and the Ban didn't hit the deck that hard (the Probe ban definitely was harder to it's bad MUs).
So yeah the best card that wasn't played before AER and the bans will be Golgari Thug.
5 drops in general have gotten much better. If the format slows down as many people think it will, we may see a rise in 5 drops seeing play. This includes Angler, Tasigur, and Mandrills, but also cards like Blood Baron of Vizkopa. Along with that, I see Bogles getting stronger, along with pro black creatures, and things with cheap regenerate. Anything to minimize Push's effect on your creature base.
I don't think Blood Moon will get any better. While fetches will be better than ever, as long as people fetch basics correctly, Moon will be no stronger than it is now. That is, at least against good players. Newer players may well fall into the trap, but it's something that has to be played around.
Because the format will slow down to a certain degree, shadow of doubt will become more viable. It's main targets are Midrange/Control/Big Mana decks, and these will become more numerous.
Wow how could I forget about Tron and Valakut decks? If midrange decks get more shares of the meta (like pretty much everybody thinks) they will definetely see more play aswell and Shadow of Doubt is a great quite versatile card to get an edge in these MUs.
Day 1 of new, post-ban MTGO Modern Dailies are out and the 2 undefeated Dredge decks (yup, they exist) played 2-4 Golgari Thug because GGT is banned. As long as aggro decks aren't nerfed enough, Blood Moon levels may not go up.
Kiki/resto or kiki/guardian is just better.
But resto has flash.
The expertise cards are cool, but past the black one they are sort of bad. Even with trying to build the expertise abuse deck in modern it is to inconsistent to be any good. I also see a rise of hand discard spells in the future of modern.

Strange that you guys think Blood Moon gets better after AER considering its price on MTGO has tanked since the banlist announcement. Are people just pulling a ton out of Treasure Chests?
Trophy Mage makes the suite of powerful 3cmc tutorable. Crucible of Worlds, Ensnaring Bridge, Swords, etc. They still gotta deal with K command though which is warpingly powerful against artifacts
In the good old days, all artifacts had that clause. But perhaps this could be a good time to build some blue tron. Storage Matrix slows things down. Play Quicksmith rebel the turn afterwards.

I have dyslexia, no I am not going to spell check for you, yes you have to live with the horrors of it.
I guess it's really hard to say what makes what else better in the format right now without some serious tinkering time or already having a beloved deck built and seeing something that just screams out "upgrade!" from the latest set.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
