Hmm, I remember something like that from years ago. Was there a Standard deck like that when Quest for Ula's Temple was standard legal?
Well, it's indeed brutal if those giant monsters start coming out one by one. Does he use counterspells or smaller blue creatures to survive while waiting for Ula's temple to become active?

I once played a against a deck using smokebraider to consistently play a woodland wanderer on turn 3 for max converge (making it a 6/6 vigilance w/trample). He also used flamekin harbinger to grab what he needed.
Do you think there is a decklist for that deck somewhere?

I have dyslexia, no I am not going to spell check for you, yes you have to live with the horrors of it.
I played a turbo green deck that people always frowned about.
Vernal Bloom with Early Harvest and lots of green recursion. I'd make absurd amounts of mana and either cast Tooth and Nail for Emmy and Urbask or Rude Awakening. And people literally had no idea what was going on. The best part was using Garruk to win via his overrun ult.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
He then proceed to activate mirror entity for 0 killing some human but the Xathrid Necromancer and the mirror entity survived because of a +1/+1 counter previousely placed on them. So he get some zombie.
He activate mirror entity again killing the zombie he created but changing them into human before, so they died and respawn again.

Emmy + Urabrask. First time I heard them paired together. Deck looks like it's fun to play.

Interesting combo, but what card did he use to change the zombie to human?

And sorry, I haven't contributed much to the thread for awhile. All the decks I've played against the past weeks are normal decks in Modern like Death Shadow. Haven't encountered a weird brew for sometime now.

Looks like it was Mirror Entity's ability that did it. "and gain all creature types"
Pretty interesting concept overall. A lot of work to set up but pretty darn interesting. I might have to try it sometime.

Ah, thanks. Did not notice that Mirror Entity can change the creature type of other creatures in the battlefield. I thought all it could change is itself.
Well, the deck probably tries to fight normally as an aggro deck since the combo is hard to put together. But if the right cards are drawn, then the opponent is in for a surprise.
Yeah it was a surprise and i was quite puzzled about when to find the right timing for my path to exile(answer was before coco resolved because in response to my path he just x=0 againt)
And yeah it exactly that, an aggro plan with a somewhat crapppy combo tackled into it. He could put renegade rallier and saffi in it now and stay on theme.
He still play it i saw it again in my LGS last monday

Hmm, if he still plays it.. then it's probably competitive to some degree.
Anyway, I encountered a somewhat weird Modern deck last month. It used the new blue 3 mana artificer.. forgot the name of the card.. that tutors artifacts 3 cmc and up. He use the creature to tutor for equipment. Trying to imitate Stoneforge Mystic. He uses many mana dorks like Llanowar elves to help cast the tutor on turn 2. The mana dorks also help with equipping the swords. He also has all sorts of counterspells in his deck.
played abzan infect yesterday. I wanna say it was budget as I didn't see any copies of inkmoth but he had an expedition overgrown tomb and a bunch of fetches and shocks.
maybe the kid just wasn't very good, as by the time I played him he had been 0-6, I handed him his 7th loss
It played a lot of cheap cantrips like: Renegade Tactics and Slip through Space to draw through the deck and Kari Zev's Expertise to steal all the creatures on board (and cast some free spells) and swing with them, and Invigorated Rampage to pump and give them trample.
In the second game I got him to 1 life and still lost to Searing Blood on all my creatures burning me out.
It had a 4-color manabase and some Sylvan Caryatid for ramping/fixing.
I played against an Isochron Scepter deck trying to make infinite mana with Dramatic Reversal and a couple of mana rocks today. I didn't get to see it go off because I had so many control spells to stop it, but it seemed like a cool idea.

Looks cool indeed. What did he intend to use the infinite mana for?
Honestly, it's probably Lantern Control before it became more mainstream. That deck just came out of nowhere and was made of the strangest jank cards one could think of. That deck is a real eye opener to how even obscure cards can become power houses when pieced together right.

First time I've heard about a deck like that. 12+ power attacking on turn 3. I also would have been taken by surprise.
Does the deck have another card that makes use of high toughness , in case Doran is not drawn?

Hmm, I guess that's a reasonable backup plan. Enchantment is not easy to remove for some decks as well.
Well, 0 power creatures can attack through a bridge. Anyway, I think Doran decks are still fringe... so Lantern players have nothing to worry about.

Played normally with champion of parish, thalia lieutenant, dark confidant Xathrid Necromancer, anafenza the foremost.
And then he cast collected company getting a mirror entity and thalia's lieutenant.
He then proceed to activate mirror entity for 0 killing some human but the Xathrid Necromancer and the mirror entity survived because of a +1/+1 counter previousely placed on them. So he get some zombie.

It was built around abusing Ink-Treader Nephilim and used Dubious Challenge to find it and creatures like Hunted Phantasm/Ponyback Brigade (strangely not Siege-Gang Commander) to create a lot of tokens to trigger Ink-Treader as much as possible.

Another deck in Modern that has Urabrask, this one is inetresting too. I'm sort of amazed how creative some people can be.
