Smith seems like the guy who read Infect was tier1, bought the deck foiled, never played it beforehand and figured he would still win.
That or he borrowed the deck.
But infect players tell me how their deck takes so much skill to play and how I wouldn't understand. (I'm being factitious) Turn 3 kills are what I want to see on camera so Wizards actually figures out that infect is too good and needs cards removed from it.

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.
Banned talk banned talk... wonder if there is a place on.this forum for that?
I know its going to sound like Im not taking it seriously, but I do play dredge and that guys turn 3 game 2 wasnt normal. Its a broken draw we sometimes get Lets be fully honest here, but it still wins TURN 4. So no "Modern rules" broken.
Game 1 the dredge player did the correct thing. He danced around relic. Also eldrazi didnt reapect him, tapping out twice so he couldnt blow his relic to stop the early game of dredge. And loam 3 into conflag for exactly 4 damage to kalatas is REALLY lucky there. The deck ran really hot those 2 games.
As a dredge player I can say with ease, the eldrazi player played bad and the dresge player played well.
Id also like to point out LOOK AT WHAT INFECT AND AFFINITY DID IN THESE LAST GAMES. Infect won on turn freakin 3, and affinity did too (against sucide zoo grant it) but affinity in round 3 was extra gross. He miss played twice in game 2 and won, and went balls to the walls all in and won like that through hate.
Realistically we cant say dredge is tier 0 when we look at these two decks. You wanna complain other archtypes are under power compared to these linear decks... yeah ill completely agree with you. But I just wanna shed some light on that point. Dont get your pitch forks out yet.
They just stated that "Control is dead is a fact for modern". Given that Huey said that he thinks Jeskai Nahiri is a T2 but definitely not in the 5 decks that would be able to win a major tournament. Currently they suggest that counterspell would be fine for modern if printed in an only modern format without going through standard (something that won't happen probably).

I agree with pretty much all of this. It was a lot of lucky draws for dredge, but at the same time dredge has the ability to do this because it isn't drawing 1 card a turn. It's effectively drawing 3-6 cards.
Might want to playtest the deck yourself before saying that. Even at goldfish, according to 100 games I tested, only 24 out of 100 games i managed to kill turn 4. Rest of them were turn 5+ (This given i have extensive experience with the deck and the most important part of playing it: the mulligan)
Weird--I find that the majority of games I goldfish as Dredge, I win by Turn 4. ...And, even though I play 4 Tome Scour while basically nobody else does, I don't think Tome Scour gives Dredge that much of a speed boost. (The consistency boost and mulligan reduction are great, though.)
I have big trouble winning by Turn 3 as Dredge, though.
Dredge won a game through Relic and Kalitas, that's impressive.
I think it says less about Dredge and more about how powerful going first can be in this format. If the Eldrazi player had been on the play, Dredge wouldn't have had a chance in that game.
By the way, is the chat disabled during this GP's Twitch coverage? I can't seem to activate it. Not like there's usually much useful in the chat to begin with, but it can sometimes be interesting to see.
And goldfish I win turn 4 all the time. Real life i win turn 5 and 6 mostly. Again that means Im breaking no rules.
And youd be suprise how often dredge farts with the littlest (correct) interaction. Course its not my job at dredge to make the correct interaction. Thats the opponents.
Dredge is fine. But you need to respect it in your sides and during the game.
And yes, relic and katalas sucks. They work well when you do aomething on top of it. Relic and katalas will not win games on their own.
And as far as turn 3 wins. Ive probably played close to 1000 plus games with the deck now, I did it 3 times. I always need to have 2 or more likely 3 lootings, hit trolls and stinkweeds each, hit 5-6 mix of amagamates, ghasts and narcs, and have rally in my yard before turn 3 combat.

PS: Horrible Infect player in the turbo match from round 1 (looks like he is totally new to the deck).

Hey we should be happy. It's dredge helping the case that it deserves a ban. Maybe we can go back to a non turn 3 format.
