I was just curious .Are there any higher tier modern decks that run phyrexian obliterator? I am assuming the only lists are mono black? And if so why is the price so high?
I would like to put together a deck with this card. Hopefully something competitive .
Nope. In the past some decks used fight cards like Domri Rade or Arena to combo with it and make your opponent sacrifice a bunch of permanents, but none of them took off. BBBB is tough even with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
Last year I played against a fringe monoblack deck with Obliterators as a win con. It's similar to "The Gate" deck from legacy. Has plenty of discard spells, Gatekeeper of Malakir, Nighthawk. And it has an alternate win con using a card that takes advantage of devotion to black. That deck also uses Lashwrithe to take advanatge of the many swamps in the manabase. Probably not good enough in highly competitive modern events. But good enough in casual and semi-competitive fnm environments.

Thanks!
The price is high because of casual demand.
If you're just looking for a big dumb black beater, use Tasigur, the Golden Fang or Gurmag Angler.
