Saheeli: Cmc3 and 3 starting loyalty are great. +1 seems good, -2 completely depends on board state, and ultimate is a build around instead of directly winning the game. She also doesn't protect herself at all. Interesting card- potentially powerful balanced by vulnerabilities.
I agree that Inventors' Fair looks great in Lantern Control. Sometimes, Thoughtseize costs too much life to play when I play that deck, and I eventually get too many Thoughtseizes in hand and die because Ensnaring Bridge is no longer effective. Gaining enough life for at least one Thoughtseize cushion while I have fewer than 4 lands is great, then I can search for a Bridge that actually works.
I'll be testing Sky Skiff in Affinity tonight to Make Memnite Great Again and see how well it gives stuff pseudo-Haste and doesn't get booted by Anger of the Gods.
Gonti looks really sweet and worth testing. Fails the bolt test yes, but it does provide value on ETB. In decks that might want to side it in against non-bolt decks it could potentially be pretty strong.
Doesn't necessarily fail the Bolt Test because it has an effect even if Bolted. Lots of 2-for-1 potential in various matchups, but I haven't done a Gatherer search to see if a similar effect exists that isn't currently played.
Loving set flavor so far.
Yup, I'm testing Gonti in Jund tonight. Gonti looks risky in non-tap-out Grixis because he demands 2 turns of sorcery-speed spells instead of the typical 1, but grabbing an Impulse on your opponent's deck is probably fairly good on average (worst-case scenarios include extra blocker, more mana, cantrip, Bolt...as far as I can tell, Gonti lets you cast Thought-Knot Seer with no C sources).
Saheeli looks bonkers. Not gunna lie, got a little sad thinking about how great she would have been in twin
As it stands, her best home in modern is probably in blue moon/RUG delver. She is functionally sorcery speed snapcaster mage 5-8,and plays nicely with dsrk dwellers
It will let you cast TKS because it says "type" of mana. By contrast, Daxos of Meletis, Grenzo, Havoc Raiser, and Psychic Intrusion all say "as though it were mana of any color" so they won't let you cast TKS. The wording on Gonti is therefore almost certainly deliberately changed with the OGW eldrazi in mind.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
I'm sure someone can figure out how to make Saheeli's ultimate win you the game on the spot, so she seems like the most interesting PLaneswalker in ages. She can't defend herself well, but she has great control colors and people like to play superfriends...

Saheeli Rai is going to have a tough time being Tiagos 5+ while Kolaghan's Command still exists and people still throw it away at chumps like Tiago whenever they want their valuable creatures back.

Let's see here... Blightsteel Colossus & Akroma's Memorial & Spellskite needs opponents to have at least 2 toughness's worth of flying blockers (or 2 instant-speed spot removal spells) or you win that turn.

The fact that she costs three mana but can win the game makes her pretty exciting.
Thopter/Sword + Time Sieve does it and the pieces aren't terrible on their own.

i fail to see how a 2 off in 10%ish of decks in modern has any bearing on her playability
I like Filigreed Familiar, it's like a colorless Kitchen Finks. Mono-blue Tron has always had a problem with aggro and this seems like it could shore up those matchups.
The Hive now costs 3 to cast, 4 to activate, and is an uncommon
Verdurous Gearhulk seems like an excellent top end option for the presently red-headed stepchild midrange deck of modern, Abzan. At worst, its an 8/8 trampler for 3GG. In contrast, the best case scenario in my opinion would generally be to create a 5/5 trampler, then distribute three +1/+1 counters across lingering souls tokens to make a single 4/4 flier, or one 2/2 soul and one 3/3 soul.
It also looks like it could be great in the Eldritch Evolution, Chord, and Company lists as a 1-2 of. Although you can't put a +1/+1 counter on the Finks you sac'd with Evo to tutor him into play, the ability to put +1/+1 counters on creatures in those decks is just generally tremendous value. Getting a 4/4 trampler and turning a bird of paradise into a 4/5 flier seems neat.

Yes, though in those decks is he better than Archangel of Thune? Archangel of Thune also has (arguably better) evasion, takes a turn to start growing your board, but will outstrip the number of counters you place on your board in two turns time, and has an infinite combo potential in Spike Feeder while helping against the ultrafast aggro MUs that are good against KikiChord decks. Its also much better on defense than Gearhulk is thanks to the lifegain.
On the flip side of the coin though, you do have Restoration Angel, who would absolutely love to flicker this guy. Resetting a Finks or getting a Eternal Witness back is good, but getting another use out of Gearhulk is probably outright game winning.
All told, I think that if KikiChord wanted this, Jeff Hoogland would already be playing Archangel of Thune as a 1 off, but maybe there is enough here and it works well enough with Eldritch Evolution that I'm missing it.
No, they're artifact creatures that dodge sorcery speed removal at the cost of needing creatures in play in addition to them in order to attack. I very much doubt we'll see any of the vehicles posted so far make it to modern, but who knows, there could be some busted ones coming.
Vehicles are something like Chimeric Mass with convoke. The strength of such creatures is that they are immune to sorcery speed removal/board wipes, although with Vehicles you need another creature in hand to get going again.
I think thats right. You cast Evolution, which as a cost sacs the finks, so its sacced at the same time Evolution is put on the stack. Finks is now in the grave and triggers, going to the stack, resolves and enters, Evolution resolves and can put counters out. Theres still a bolt window, but yeah.

I think they could prove to be playable.
Their biggest liability is that they become creatures and no one plays purely sorcery speed removal, but it's this weird intersection of equipment meets manland/animated permanent that could prove to be very much playable (though dying to Kolaghan's Command kinda blows).
The airship that has both an ETB and on-attack ability is a good example of designs to keep an eye out for.

This is how I feel as well. Besides Grand architect is pretty good with the vehicles.

For standard, I think it's meant to be played with Filigreed Familiar.
In modern, Solemn Simulacrum probably, although I'm not sure what UR deck wants ramp.
