I'm already playing it in spirit tribal, but I could also see it showing up as a 1-of in chord decks, and if Bant tempo/flash ever gets it together it'll see play there.

GU Kruphix's "Hug Assassin" RW Kalemne's "Play Fatties and Hope for the Best!" BUGW Atraxa's "All counters, all the time"
It's a phenomenal card. I've been playing testing UWr flash with spell queller instead of Geist. No regrets thus far.
At a pptq this past weekend I ended up going 3-3 with a non-refined list. Wasn't playing any serum visions and that turned out to be a big mustake. With s refined list I went 3-0 at Sunday nights modern.
Spell queller is super relative and feels amazing to cast.
Spell Queller showed up as a 1-of bullet in Bant Coco Knightfall top8 list at SCG classic this weekend. Not sure the 3cmc has enough upside considering it dies to bolt and then gives up some/most of its value, but at least one person did well with it in their deck.

Sure it dies to bolt. Who cares? If they don't have the removal for it, It's a huge tempo swing.
And if they do have the bolt... that's three less damage directed at your face. I consider that a win-win.
Getting eaten by bolt is a tempo loss with a 3 cmc creature, which can be a dangerous amount of tempo to lose early in the game. Depending on which card was hit by spell queller, if they get full value out of the spell the queller was answering, then it is likely a bad play. Imagine spell quelling removal like path, bolt or abrupt decay, only to have quller bolted. Depending on the target for abrupt decay/ path/ terminate, that could easily be a 3 mana for 5-6 mana tempo loss. Early in the game, this is significant. Queller is good, but prone to getting blown out by the breakneck tempo of modern.
I have my doubts on the card, but it does have upside such that it could find a place.

The thing is: It has flash. So "tempo-loss" is very subjective. You only tap out for it when it's in your best interest to do so.
I've been liking it, but Spirits Tribal has not been cutting it IMO, the power level is just too low even though it can feel pretty awesome to Spelll Queller and protect it with Rattlechains. May be better in a standard WUR shell. Hmmm

Like I said, I've been experimenting with it in UWr flash instead of Geist of Saint Traft.
So far I like it... alot. Overall my record with the deck is 6-3; however, it's still in the design/brewing stage.
So far I've beaten Suicide Zoo (x2), Affinity, Merfolk, and Burn. I've lost vs Ad Nasium, Elves (really bad matchup), and U Tron.
The only change I may make to the below deck is -1 Crpytic, -1 Electrolyze, + 1 helix, + 1 path to exile.
im trying to move toward something similar to a tempo variant of esper blade with lingering souls and tribal synergy that generates value off of the flash spirits (legit starting to think drogskol captain is for vial spirits only).

Decks I have in my bag of tricks- Needless to say, someone who wants to play will probably have a deck UB/x Faeries UR Storm XURWB Affinity G Elves UW control
im trying to move toward something similar to a tempo variant of esper blade with lingering souls and tribal synergy that generates value off of the flash spirits (legit starting to think drogskol captain is for vial spirits only).
I'm surprised no one seems to be experimenting with this in UWr flash.

I played it last night in a esper spirt deck. Just a few games.

Game one was great
Nice. I'm playing a modified UWr flash deck (with spell queller instead of geist). So far I'm 6-3 (all three losses were with an unrefined list with zero serum visions).
I may start experimenting with Jeskai Nahiri with x4 spell quellers.
I've been playing it in a jeskai tempo shell as well, basically just slotting out Geist for 4x Queller. I feel like Dispel is mainboardable together with it just to take out removal spells
my main question in testing right now is mostly how big you want to go with it: do you want to curve out at 3 and go under your opponent or go big with Resto Angel, Cryptic Command and AV?

I'm not sure about AV; however, I play a full set of Angels and one cryptic command.
Been having amazing results thusfar. Top 4ed a 2k over the past weekend.

I've been testing a spirits vial listing and it's definitely up there on power, it just hasn't had as much time to get the rough edges cut out like merfolk has. Don't put a good spirit deck down! The deck is more esper, though.
Standard spirits is also doing well as a resilient deck listing at FNMs. It isn't getting the screen time that some other decks are getting, but I feel it will get better with Kaladesh coming.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
One things for certain... spell queler is a very good yet underrated card in Modern.
Although it does "die to bolt" if you are really that concerned about the card you're removing... it's very easy to make it permanent.
Bolting your own spell queller in response to the trigger is a very real and easily doable.
Yes you are two for oneing yourself. But at the point inw hich you want to do it... it doesn't matter.
