Did anybody ever try Sin Prodder in modern? I am looking for Jund Players, but anyone who has tryed it I would like to hear. It can also be a really bad Confidant, as it has the potential of bury your rituals or business spells straight down the toilet. But still it beats and has the potential of card advantage/damage over time.
I have not any of the cards you would play him in, so I have never tryed him.
I reckon the card could potentially be good in the BRx Through the Breach/Goryo's Vengeance combo decks, as the potential of flipping an Emrakul/Wurm presents them with the choice of: Taking 15 and allowing Vengeance to happen, or let you get it and allow Breach happen. It's not likely they will take the 15, unless there's like a RiP or something in the field. It would be something like a slower Dark confidant that doesn't punish you.
I also feel it has potential with Bedlam Reveler in grixis jund-like builds, where it meands a game winning threat or 8 the face and be ready for K Command.

In Lorwyn's brief evenings, the sun pauses at the horizon long enough for a certain species of violet to bloom with the fragrance of mischief.
How do you figure that, he's just repeatable browbeat on a stick. This should've been an obvious trap. Agressive decks will draw alotta useless cards, and more midrange-control lists will deal some bonus damage they don't need.
In standar when browbeat was introdused it was a very good card in the red agro deck. Unlike all of the other cards that give choises with loose \ mildly anoying, brow beat gives a choise of loose \ loose in a few turns. It was a good card, but only in an agressive deck that goes after the oponents life total. Take 5 from browbeat now, or get damage from lightning bolt style cards the turn after. For modern the card is a bit slow, compared with the burn decks not wanting a 3 mana card in their deck.
Therefore sin prodder is not good in modern skred-red because skred red is a wear control deck with blood moon. Taking damage from sin prodder is never dangerush vs skred red. Vs jund or some other deck that threatens your life total, taking damage is much worse.
Have anybody actually tryed the card?

I have dyslexia, no I am not going to spell check for you, yes you have to live with the horrors of it.
he's been fun in living end. I get extra card draws off of him, since most of my opponents don't want to get nicked for 5 or more damage. unlike dark confidant though, you will never netgain lands with him! of course opponents don't mind making you put those into your graveyard!
I have a hunch that Kaladesh may have some high CMC matters cards. If it does then Sin Prodder may find a home in Standard but like everyone has said he is just too slow for Modern. Sin Prodder toes the line between aggro and mid-range but doesn't really add enough to either IMO.
There was some discussion regarding him in the Jund thread when he first came out, but I believe it was quickly found to be woefully sub-par. Search that time period in the Jund thread to find the discussion.
The main issue is that without building around it one is letting the opponent control the draw step. In modern where people aren't afraid of bolting themselves with a combination of fetchlands and Shocklands that is never a good thing.

2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

Remember to tag the card you're talking about in SDC's!
