All the top-32 of GP Los Angeles are solid decks. GP Charlotte... I'm lost. Especially Ad-Nauseam. How often does it win before turn 4? And where does it get its consistency from? You need multiple pieces, it's like a collected company deck without the beatdown plan. This is one deck I have no clue how it works.
It's also completely unbeatable if they have Angel's Grace and Boseiju, Who Shelters All. I lost to Ad Nauseam at SCG Regionals, dying game 3 with Dispel, Remand, Remand in hand. Nothing you can do against Split Second and an uncounterable sorcery. Once they draw their deck, they have 4x Pact of Negation. Granted it also can fall apart completely if it doesn't draw well, it can be frustrating to go up against in a match that matters in a large event.

in a metagame with ad nausea, those long-languishing vendilion cliques in my sideboard suddenly start to make sense. beaten the deck many times with a draw-step clique.

Ad Nauseam can win on the draw on turn 2, but it's less than 1% out of all my games.
that isn't really true, as most lists don't run Gemstone Caverns. Standard kill is T4-5, will a T3 kill happens maybe 5%

Don't tell people this, its more or less misinformation and the exact type of crap that spreads.

This situation demands exactly 9 cards for it work on Turn 2 on the draw (impossible on the play). Doing this with any sort of consistency/regularity would probably be cheating, and even pulling it off once ever is Magical Christmas Land.
Trying to be "technically correct" can be really misleading. I mean, U/B Mill "can win" on Turn 2 with Island, 1x Thought Scour, 1x Ghost Quarter, and 4x Archive Trap. Every person in the room will tell you how egregious these examples are.

This combination would be less then 1/10,000 games...no where near 1%
Going through the VODS of day 1 now. Coverage off of the bat looks good, the transitions with animated cards seem better than normal, and I lol'd at the Abzan Company deck they displayed twice with a Jund maindeck and Company sideboard.

LSV starting in round 1 is great though!
I especially appreciated Andy Cooperfauss trying to type labels for the Cavern of Souls on screen and moving them around by hand. that was a nice touch (and amusing at the same time)

I haven't got there yet. One cool thing I've seen is people using tokens to mark a Cavern by slipping it in the sleeve. Since the name is at the top of the token like "Angel", "Zombie", or "Wolf" it works really well.
Also were Marshal and Huey doing coverage from inside a bathroom?? These are some diverse matchups though. GW Hatebears vs Zoo. BubbleHulk vs Doran???? This is like FNM level of diversity!
I have to say, even though I'm so slow on this and the thread is essentially a ghost town; this is really the best coverage I've seen to date. There is double the magic than normal. The commentators are pretty knowledgeable of the format and LSV has had some good points about it for people starting out with his "LSV's Keys" section. The content is fresh. The transitions are great. The deck overlays are the best yet (the only thing making it better would be a hand-reporter in the feature match area like on the PT). I hope this level of coverage continues in the future.
Also best moment is when they didn't have a Black 2/2 Flying Vampire token for Sorins -2 so they did this:
