What do you think are the most underrated decks in Modern? Of course tiers and winrates correlate but often there is a deck no one beleives in. People don't play it -> it doesn't put up results -> it is considered bad. Often bad declists are an issue. Deck X is considered bad because no one made a powerful and consistent decklist of it. Or someone did but no one knows about it or people don't believe its good. Deck exists as a noob brew until some pro writes an article or makes a good finish with it. There are a lot of examples: Lantern Control, Eggs, Eldrazi.
Nearly all Griselbrand version (classic, "control", Ooze and Shoal).
Ritual Gifts (though, really REALLY hard to play good, so it might be rather a skill level barrier than anything else)
Bubble Hulk
Lantern Control (atm not that good)
UW Tron

What I play or have:
Modern/Legacy
either funpolice (Delver, Deathcloud, UW Control) or the fun decks (especially those ft. Griselbrand)
Eldrazi is slowly making a comeback I swear. The core of the deck is actually not a bad entrance into the format for those on a budget, but the expensive manabase is what will push people away from the deck.
I also heard that Green's Sun's Zenith went 1-4 in a league on MTGO. #tier1herewecome
I second merfolk. Super underrated aggro/ control with answers for just about anything. I also agree that living end is pretty underrated.
Please... don't. Just because it plays Vapor Snag and Spell Pierce it doenst mean what you wrote there. Not at all. Agree with Living End and I'll say Gifts deck's with Elesh Norn/Iona + Unburial Rites.
You're right. I totally shouldn't have said "It stops all decks in their tracks." Just because you don't agree doesn't mean to misinterpret what I say.

The biggest example was amulet bloom. That deck existed for such a long time but did not get any recognition until last year. People were actually saying that the deck was way too easy to hate it out. I think some kind of combo control deck be it thopter or something else are very underrated. I also think Nahiri control is a sleeper as well.
Scapeshift. Ramp is good. Casting primeval titan is good. A one card combo win is good. Control through permission and burn is good. It's all good.
How is this deck underrated whatsoever? This deck is a solid tier 1 deck that has many placings this year.
It underrated because it performs well and has a middling level of popularity. It's share of the overall meta is around 3.5%, not even top ten decks played but it continues to perform.

im not surprised no body talked about Hive mind even if the deck is as good as Ad Nauseam but might be a little more expensive because of all the pacts

" answers for just about anything" Your words, not mine. Or at least mind to explain.
It's an effective tribal Aggro deck that runs unblockable pumped up creatures automatically against blue decks. If the opponent isn't running blue, you have enchant lands, which are also effective against problem manlands, tron lands, nythkos etc. counters break up combos/ are a general answer against other problems and control tempo. Mutavaults get pumped up from lords and can catch etched champion off guard. Vial gets around counters and can run all sorts of tricks to catch opponents off guard (vial in spell catcher/ counter, vial in lord and pump, etc etc). That's a pretty broad array of play and answers if you ask me. Yeah, it has bad matchups (faster Aggro for example) but it's still a tier 2 deck that's effective in a lot of scenarios against a variety of decks and is imo underrated (the thread question), which you sort of just proved. But we do agree on living end!
I haven't played against too many gifts decks, but I feel like that doesn't get as much play due to how tricky gifts ungiven itself is to play.
I agree with Grishoalbrand, but I would like to also add Bogles. Many people think it's more inconsistent than it actually is. Obviously it will never be as consistent as a Serum Visions deck, but the deck is fine when you know how to mulligan decently and realize that sometimes you will lose to variance or mulls.
I would like to also add Ad Nauseam. A good player with this deck can simply demolish tournaments.

Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
My vote goes to 8Rack and Slivers
I believe right builds perform on tier1 level of winrates
The feature of tier1 decks is that their decklists are polished. While 90% of decklists of tier3-4 decks are straight bad and 99% of them can be easily improved. So usually they perform worse than what they could.
Well I gotta throw in my beloved RUG Eternal Ruse here. Not sleeping Toptier contender but it could definetely perform in the lower grounds of Tier 2.
Tarmogoyf, Bolt-Snap-Bolt or Bolt-Witness-Bolt and the Ruse/Command-Witness lock are powerful tools, it definetely deserves some more recognition. Maybe it's just too expensive.
But well at least I can continue to catch opponents off guard online
RG Tron. A bunch of people have been acting like it's dead with the Eye of Ugin ban, but frankly it's still there and while it's not AS powerful as it was, it's still just trucking along.

Well, I can saw a woman in two, but you won't wanna look in the box when I'm through.
Dredge and infect that isnt G/U.
G/R infect is awesome just a glass cannon.
Dredge is amazing but it gets weird love where people build it incorrectly and so it gets hated on a lot.
I swear if people played dredge like you would woth lightsworn from yugioh you'd see more of it.
