while everyone is brewing with Zombies, Vengevine and Dredge since the spoilers of The Gitrog Monster, Prized Amalgam and Stitchwing Skaab i recognized one fact during playtesting. And thats why i want to listen to your oppinion on that topic:
This dude is not only about putting a 3/1 in play at the cost of U1 and discarding 2 Cards.
It's more about an always-available Discard outlet in the Yard.
Dredge had sometimes trouble to put Cards from hand into the bin; Lotleth Troll was dealt with, no Faithless Looting in hand and some others. Now there is a tool that solves this problem.
2 downsides though:
It's Blue, so requires a BUG Manabase (no Looting though) and it has to be already in the graveyard to become active.
In my initial testings it synergizes best with Life from the Loam and a very grindy take to the deck.
This is most contra-intuitive to the Dredgevine approach, which is all about aggression.
There's one problem: in order to use Stitchwing Skaab to discard cards from your hand, you need to get it into your graveyard first. So that means either:
1) having a discard outlet, in which case you don't need Skaab.
2) milling yourself. Luckily blue is quite good at this (Thought Scour, Hedron Crab).
The best thing about Skaab is that it can trigger a Prized Amalgam in your hand. Pay 1U and discard Amalgam + something, Skaab ETBs, then Amalgam triggers at EOT.
Right now i'm testing this along Raven's Crime as additional Discard Outlet + Life from the Loam which ensures that i got enough Cards lategame to activate Skaab.
Thought Scour was horrendous in my testings.
It never did what i wanted it to do

Thought scour seems perfect for this type of deck since the "draw a card" is a dredge trigger after you mill two.

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.
the Ghoulsteed is better for dredge due to being black.
typically your opener only needs 1 blue or 1 red mana source to get the draw spells going that enable dredge. encase you lose that mana source to land destruction, you can dredge up dakmor salvage and get a 4/4 back that triggers Prized amlagam and enables gravecrawler.
So your argument is that you can get back black mana easier against land destruction, which makes the card that costs one mana more a better alternative? Against land destruction?
Both cards work with Amalgam and Gravecrawler, so that part doesn't mean anything.
If you're using Hedron Crab as an enabler instead of Neonate, the skaab is much easier to play. You could get it, and maybe an amalgam, in play as early as turn two. The zombie horse, while cool, doesn't get through as fast or as reliable as the stitchwing skaab.

its a valid point, any deck with fulminator mage typically can hit a dredge strategies blue or red source to leave it disabled/floundering. unless your playing life from the loam versions of dredge your not likely to get back your colored source for several top decks. furthermore even in life from the loam dredge decks, knocking off green sources early can leave a dredge deck foundering for another green source.
I've been itching to test madness guys like this with something like Zombie Infestation. I discard two cards for free, get a creature, then cast the two discards for Madness, get another creature and another creature.
Too Jingle Bells?

I don’t see how that works together. How are you getting three creatures?
Do I really need to explain this to somebody with a Golgari avatar?
Oh, I see what you mean. I thought you were referring to the cards discarded using the Skaab's ability in conjunction with the Infestation ability. Got myself confused by what you were saying because of it!
You all can go check out the hyper-dredge thread and see the recent builds. I have a build without vengevine or bridge from below that is solid, resilient, and really fun.

Looks fine in paper, but if i don't find a Dredger or have 1 in teh Bin it's not really that great.
I still stick to it because Hedron Crab is sometimes meh too.
