Why reprint high demand cards in return sets when you can slam them in MM and charge $8 MSRP.
IOK wasn't reprinted because for all intents and purposes for this set it is not an eldrazi flavored card. It would not have made sense to print it AND they couldn't have possibly anticipated the level of demand for it when they were designing this set years ago.
All 10 fetches in standard at the same time is CLEARLY busted, that whole fiasco was pretty unfounded speculation by the general community, and Goblin Guide alongside of Swiftspear in the same standard would have been a power level nightmare.
Reprints have to come eventually and I understand the frustration, but they also have to make sense according to the design schedule and the desired power level of the formats they'll be effecting.
What do people feel about Inverter of truth? Its a 6/6 for four with flying a downside that's easily an upside?
Not good.
If you're planning to use him just as a beatstick, Tasigur and Angler are better. Got a big graveyard that ensures you won't die to Inverter of Truth? Great, that same graveyard can be used to fuel Tasigur/Angler. I honestly think that a 2BB 6/6 flier is not good enough to see play in Modern, even if it comes with absolutely no drawback.
It's not about not dying, its about the pseudo card advantage that an angler followed by an Inverter of Truth would provide. After you cast Angler, Taisegur, or even murderous cut your graveyard would ideally be maybe 6 cards that you want to see. So you cast inverter and you get rid of any dead draws that would occur. Then you can use K. Command or familiars ruse to reset your library a few turns later.
I'm really only caring for 3...4 cards in the set.
Warping Wail
Oath of Nissa
Natural State
Kozilek’s Return
And I'm doubtful on wail. I get its anti twin, but does it do enough otherwise? Oath should have a home somewhere, even if its not clear yet. Natural state is aggro's version of nature's claim. It hits less, but its trying to end the game. Return hits affinity harder, and instant speed negates the 1 mana more by knocking more things out, let alone that it can be reused.
The New Bushwhacker is being underrated. In Gruul Zoo AND goblins it is fantastic alongside Burning Tree Emissary.
Its not. Gruul zoo plays 4 burning tree, 4 tarmogoyf, 4 atarka's command, 3-4 rampagers and 2-4 FLinthoof (big thing to note here, this is where the cutting down the 2 drop slot happens.) You wont cut burning-tree, tarmogoyf, command, or rampagers for this. You could cut flinthoof for this. but flinthoof is the better card 90% of the time. Sometimes you'll have a great turn 2 curve with this if you opened a burning tree with it. Most of the time you'll cast it turn 3-4 as a later way to push damage. still more often than the god opener, but less often than the casting for surge anywhere on turn 3-5 you will top deck this and it will be terrible.
The deck doesnt need ways to be faster but more fragile, its fine at that. It needs cheap ways to not roll over and die to interaction and combos. Not saying the card isnt good. Im saying gruul isnt the correct deck for it.
With Oath and Call of the Gatewatch, I can see me trying out G/W Tron. Search out Nichol Bolas, Planeswalker (with Oath of Nissa of course)!!!! Karn and Ugin.
Gonna be trying Sea Gate Wreckage as a one of in affinity in place of a Glimmervoid. I'm pretty hopeful that this card can get there.
I actually like it as a 1 or 2 of in D&T as well. It would provide the deck with some badly needed reach.
I've already found that Sea Gate Wreckage is excellent in Lantern Control--yes, even though it plays Ensnaring Bridge! Drawing into the Bridge is swell, and it's so much easier to win with Lantern Control when you draw and play 2 cards a turn.

You lost me. How are you resetting your library? Inverter of Truth's effect is library -> exile, graveyard -> library.

Yes, they could have anticipated it. It was still a $7 uncommon two years ago, so even back then it would make sense to reprint it when they returned.
All 10 fetches in standard at the same time is CLEARLY busted,
It would actually be significantly less busted than having 5 fetchlands and the tango lands in Standard at the same time, which is the case right now.
Ok, so two posts on Blogatog make clear that Inquisition was not in MM15 because they anticipated they would put it in BfZ-block. It then got killed in development. They thought about getting around the non-devoid thing by flavouring it to the Eldrazi-sympathizing Vampires.

Ewww, Spellbomb? What is this, 2005? I'll test my instant-speed burn any day over the see-it-coming, sorcery-speed artifact.
Difference being that Bomb is easy to see coming, sorcery speed, and can be destroyed if you're tapped out after burning the opponent.
I was thinking B for some good old hand disruption.
"When you get your opponent down to 0 sanity, you win the game!"
Spellbomb being sorcery-speed is not all that bad, you get a prowess trigger on your turn and the ability to shoot down Firewalkers on theirs.

Reality Hemorrhage will certainly be a strong candidate for sideboard in my Burn deck.
Spatial Contortion I will find a home for, maybe in D&T to deal with Etched Champion.
Those are my initial three cards.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
