Hi guys, first time post so my apologies if this has already been addressed somewhere. I was really interested by the idea of using the Eldrazi processors with cards like Rest in Peace and Leyline of the Void, but I read somewhere that this interaction doesn't work because RIP and co. prevent the cards from going into the graveyard at all. Do we have a firm ruling about whether or not this interaction works? And if so do you think it's viable for modern?

My Decks:
UG Merfolk RG 8-Whack BWG Abzan midrange GRB Living End UWB Spirit Control
GU Kruphix's "Hug Assassin" RW Kalemne's "Play Fatties and Hope for the Best!" BUGW Atraxa's "All counters, all the time"
That's how it will work. But I think we'd have to wait for the official rulings to be 100% sure. In the meantime, things like Path to Exile or Bojuka Bog will be your best bet at abusing these effects.
Ah that's a shame, thanks for clearing it up though. Maybe if we get some more playable processors it will be worth trying to throw something together.

The "if you do" in the processor ability means "if you choose to take this action", not "if the action happens exactly as described". You choose to put the cards into the graveyard, which is legal: there's no effect saying you can't do that. Leyline replaces this by putting them (back) into exile instead, but this doesn't matter. It's really no different from how a card like Blind Zealot works under Leyline, except there's no catchy word like "sacrifice" to use in the case it comes from exile.

When you peer long enough through the depths, the depths peer also through you.
Munda, Ambush Leader is a huge disappointment. I was hoping he'd put the cards into your hand like Goblin Ringleader/Sylvan Messenger (or better yet, cast them like Narset, Enlightened Master ). It's quite dumb to reveal 3 Allies (A, B, C), draw ally A next turn, cast it, then look at allies B and C again.
Also, and I don't usually complain about this sort of thing, but what the heck is so white about him other than his art? I get that haste = red, but the deck stacking ability is blue or maybe green.

What a sweet reanimation or Tron target. I love that it shuts down Splinter Twin, Cryptic Command, and Snapcaster Mage all in one sweep. Against Grixis, it turns off Angler, Tasigur, Snapcaster, Cryptic, and Terminate (among others). Jund can at least kill this with Pulse and/or Lily, and Abzan has Lily/Path.
Iona can't be used in Tron very well until the later game, locks the opponent out of 1/3 colors instead of half their curve, and only presents a 3 turn clock.
Winnower's evasion is worse than flying on defense, but he is unblockable to tokens (no Lingering Souls to help you here even though you can technically cast it) and presents a two turn clock if he does connect. For Tron's purposes, this guy is basically strictly better than Iona, IMHO. No colored symbols to get in the way, he locks the opponent down harder than Iona does and presents a faster clock. For a Gifts deck, a 1-1 split is probably better, especially if you've seen your opponent's hand and can tailor a pile to beat it.
I still think I will use shambling vents in my BW midrange deck. It is a bummer it is 3 toughness and is significantly worse than mutavault for being slower and not being a rat for pack rat but the lifelink is very necessary in the deck and I was running 7 colorless lands before and would have issues so I can do a split of this and mutavault and maybe get it down to 4 or 5 colorless. Not amazing but I think it will be an upgrade for that deck.
Vents is still better than Lavaclaw Reaches, let us never forget that terrible card.
With out a real form of evasion, I doubt the card will see a bunch of play. Creeping Tar Pit is heavily played even though bolt take it out because it can't be chump blocked. Flying would have made this card so much better with out it being overpowered in the least. Hardly anyone plays Vampire Nighthawk, so why would you play a worse version of the card?
It will see fringe play in things like BW Tokens, or Deadguy Ale, but it will not be the powerhouse that Colonnade or Tar Pit, nor will it see as much play as Ravaging Ravine or even Stirring Wildwood. But it is still better than the stain that is Lavaclaw.
Well, there's two good things about Shambling Vent in Tokens:
1) it taps for W and B, unlike Vault which only taps for colorless. So you don't have to wait for another land to cast Spectral Procession if you draw Vent instead of Vault.
2) if you play Honor of the Pure, it gets buffed out of Bolt range.
The bad thing is that it's an ETB tapped land, and you already have so many of those in your deck (Windbrisk Heights, Isolated Chapel when you don't draw a basic/fetch/shock).
It was a typo. I'm sorry.

Big question: better, worse, or about the same as Iona, Shield of Emeria?
BONUS: This guy from the Rumor Mill wins the thread -
