As always I would like to see Innocent Blood.
It would make sense flavor-wise considering Lilianas history and story but of course I won't get my hopes up seeing that card. I do hope for a lot of goodies in Black though.
Also interested to see if a lot of the Green cards will turn out be Elf-centric considering Nissa and her history. If so I hope it's done right and not like Nissa Revane
Innocent Blood would be great for Modern, but I can't imagine it being considered safe to print in Standard. Esper Dragons would be absurd with it there.
They should just ban them outright. This format is meant to be an eternal format without the impact of the reserve list. If they continue to allow stuff that they haven't really reprinted since 8th edition because of various reasons, they either need to stick them in Modern Masters (Which they didn't and should have. Blood moon, Boil, and Choke would have been great in the set. Better than a lot of the crap they did include) or just ban them. Otherwise, we have a reserve list in principle rather than fact and that sucks.

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.
Is there anyone who's actually against Innocent Blood being legal in Modern? Unlike other frequently proposed reprints, like Counterspell, I don't think I've seen anyone ever say they'd be opposed to it entering the format.
This isn't the thread for 'i want X reprinted'. It's for things actually in Origins.
The prison warden isn't Standard playable unless he's at least 5/5, and the bar is much higher in Modern where he has no protection from Path to Exile or Go For The Throat.
He's clearly not going to be an 8/8, but I don't think he'd be even close to playable with those stats except as a fun one-of in FNM-level decks.
Liliana is harder to judge. She's amazing once flipped, probably her back side is worth 4 mana (and it comes with a free Zombie), but she requires a bit of work to get out. Realistically I only see her being tried with Chord of Calling and I don't see her being widely played.

I think one of the Mods who frequents the Standard boards thinks Innocent Blood would be overpowered even in Modern.

Really? You are being ridiculous. "A 5 mana 8/8 with flash wouldn't be anywhere near playable in Modern because it dies to instant-speed non damage/toughness-based non-cost-based removal" is basically what you are saying. There are only 2 removal spells that even see Modern play that are instant-speed and don't depend on damage, toughness, or CMC (Path to Exile and Terminate [the most common removal spells in Modern are still Lightning Bolt and Abrupt Decay). And saying that you wouldn't play a 5 mana 8/8 with flash and relevant abilities because it dies to Terminate and Path is like refusing to play Loxodon Smiter because it dies to Doom Blade. Even as a 5/5 with flash and relevant text he would be perfectly reasonable to try out in WUR Flash. It would then be a card that could block and kill basically any ground creature in Modern at instant speed and survive while at the same time keeping other creatures exiled. That sounds good to me. It almost certainly won't be a 5/5, but if it was I would definitely play it in Modern.

Surrak Dragonclaw isn't much worse than an 8/8 flash (being 6/6 flash; the gap between 6/6 and 8/8 is very small), has useful abilities, and is not Standard quality or even particularly close. The weaker Retaliate effect is not a powerful ability unless you have enough of a life cushion to eat at least one, preferably two hits from creatures on turn 5, which is almost never true in Modern.

Surrak is in the wrong colors. If he was monoblue I am sure he would see more play, just like how an 5 mana 8/8 with flash in monowhite would see Modern play.
Hoping for anything that makes a blue control deck variable and more good creatures in other colours other than black/green and lesser black/green spells that would slot into the current B/G/x core.

I'd honestly be glad to see another BR planeswalker. Only one I can think of is Sarkhan the Mad, who is...awkward to work with. Granted, I love Sarkhan in all of his forms, but yeah. Then again, dual color walkers here? Not likely. Other than that, I think I'll manage. I adore the new Liliana, and Hixus is alright.

I am almost positive that they confirmed that the only 5 walkers in Magic Origins are the planeswalkers that they are focusing on and that they will all be monocolored.
I personally want a 4 mana Gideon that is actually playable.

Woah, woah. Gideon is playable, but only in certain decks. Asking for a 4 mana Gideon that is playable seems super greedy to me! (Sarcasm Implied).
I am hoping for an, at least decent, Gideon. I would be SUPER HAPPY if he was 4 mana and was at least half as powerful as Gideon Jura, but I am not holding my breath.

Because the deck is tier two and doesn't deserve to be killed off. It's nowhere near oppressive. I'm not for printing cards that absolutely invalidate whole strategies. I've heard so many complaints that modern isn't diverse enough, and killing decks is not how one achieves diversity in a format. Whether it's a deck you don't like or not.
For example, I despise splinter twin. That doesn't mean it loses the right to exist.

I don't think it would kill bogles. It's not like most BGx decks can run four and rely on casting it when ever. They do usually want their creatures around. It would improve their match up by letting them not rely on Geth's Verdict and Liliana of the Veil, as well as giving decks that are lightly splashing black a way to positively interact with Bogles, which is a good thing. Bogles, like storm and affinity, is a deck than can create somewhat of a sub game, which is something Wizards doesn't seem to like. More cards that hate on Bogles, the better for it's longevity and IMO format health.

I used to feel the same way as you. However, I am tired of Modern often being a format made up of decks that try to avoid playing Magic at all, decks that just do their own thing and hope that their opponents can't kill faster and don't have better sideboard cards than them. I am sick of how linear Modern can get and how dependent it often is on one drawing the right sideboard card at the right time. I honestly wouldn't miss Bogles, and if printing a card that would help Control (the weakest archetype in Modern), would kill it, then so be it.
Edit: At least Splinter Twin plays a game of Magic.

How? In truth, the card probably wouldn't see that much play, mostly being relegated to control decks that are running Black (e.g. Grixis/Esper Control). Giving a subset of an archetype a card that's decent against Bogles (though they can still always pull tricks like Dryad Arbor to dodge it) doesn't seem like it'd kill the deck.
Well, I guess maybe BW Tokens would play it, as they have so many creatures it doesn't matter if they lose one. But for most decks, I don't think Innocent Blood is that good.

Also worth noting that it's not the greatest Snappy target and bad against Twin, so it wouldn't be an auto 4-of. It would be in Pox-esque builds though but those aren't anywhere near tier 1.
