Erayo, Soratami Ascendant is a card that saw some discussion at the beginning of modern's life. I have seen this card being used in affinity shells as well as shells with Rule of Law. What are some combos that are around currently that can put this powerful tool to use. (Yes I know that it dies to Abrupt decay, but I want to brainstorm some ideas.)

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.
Erayo is a trap. People just see her as "good with Memnites/Ornithopters" and put her in Affinity or Quest for the Holy Relic decks.
The problem is that those are aggressive decks and their ideal start is to throw down a bunch of creatures on turn 1, not wait till turn 2, cast Erayo, and throw down a bunch of creatures. Erayo forces you to sandbag spells for her, weakening your aggro game. If you can't cast four spells in one turn, she's just a Narcomoeba.
In Affinity there's another reason not to play her: she's not an artifact. Affinity only has room for around 10 non-artifacts/lands, and between Thoughtcast, Ensoul Artifact and Galvanic Blast, you're not short on playables.

I do agree with you that she is not great in affinity. However in a deck with card advantage engines maybe there is something there.

Afiinity can cast her in T1, since you can go Citadel into Opal into Memnite into Erayo into Ornithopter. Being the thopter the 4th spell cast that turn it would flip Erayo and give you a world of fantasy. But it requires you to have 5 specifict cards in hand out of 7 so it's unrealistic.
Anyway, I also agree that she's a trap.

In Lorwyn's brief evenings, the sun pauses at the horizon long enough for a certain species of violet to bloom with the fragrance of mischief.
