Just getting back into the game again after being absent from it for 3 years. Currently do not have any cards to speak off.
I enjoyed playing control or combo control decks
no color preference
Scapeshift is a control deck with a combo finish.

Thank you I will look around for an updated list unless you can link one for me.
There are quite a few variants. Personally I play the RUG version but there are 4 and 5-color builds with Bring to Light and some lists play a playset of Prismatic Omen and Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle to be less reliant on Scapeshift. The primer lists some RUG builds but there are Bring to Light decklists in the more recent posts.

Coming back after having quit during Eldrazi Winter. I am looking at building Dredge or G/R Tron. What do you think would give me the most longevity of play(won't get boring) I am on a 500ish $ budget. So any other suggestions around that price margin are also appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dredge is getting a lot of squawking right now about what needs to be banned, so that might not last (I dont' find it that bad, it does the same degenerate things every T1 deck does). I found Tron to be really boring. If you want something that'll stick for a very long time for about 500 bucks, you can look into Death and Taxes, U/W Titan Control, and/or Grixis Delver. None of these decks aren't Tier 1 so they wont' get nerfed anytime soon. it's also fun to figure otu the right build to combat what a majority of the meta is playing.

That's how I feel about dredge. Thoughts on Kiki Evolution?
So, I'm currently building a Grixis Delver so I can start going to Modern events near me, the only catch that I've had is that I don't know if it's the right deck for me. I currently don't possess many Modern staples except for most cards on the Delver deck list, which is why I'm building it. Should I try selling the GD deck and then buying another one or keep on building it and see if I don't get better with practice?
For the record, I do have fun with aggro, control, and aggro-control. I'm not much of a combo player, something about combos just seems "off" to me, and I don't like them.

I like playing midrange/control the most. I have BUG delver built right now, but I'm considering both jund and Grixis delver/control. What are people'a thoughts for the meta? Obviously Tron just ROFL-stomps most of it, but I've never loved Tron. Any thoughts on the best deck for my playstyle? I've got the card stock to sell/trade into most decks.
Honestly there's no "secret deck" that will beat all of those, so I'm assuming you want a deck that will do decent in that meta and be something that you enjoy playing. I personally feel that the best 2 decks are Infect and Dredge, so I'd probably run one of those. There are some fairly poor matchups in your meta for Infect, but if you run Dredge, you risk the chance of playing the mirror. The Dredge mirror is one of the most miserable matches that I've ever played in Modern and I've played some bad ones.

Your meta is extremely open and there's no way to find a deck to counter everything. There's different types of control and aggro decks, if anything, there's not much in the way of combo decks and they seem to be bad ones.
I think the best is to just pick a deck you'll enjoy playing. If you give us a little more on what you like, we can help narrow it down. It seems like you'd like Grixis Control though, and it seems like a fine enough choice. I'd look at the list Corey Burkhart (sp?) used at whatever the recent GP he did well at was. He started off like 12-0 or something and it seems as good of a starting point for that archetype in this meta.
I am going to sell my Naya Burn deck without its fetches it would prolly reach up to 400 - 500$ and i will still have sets of windswept, bloodstained, and wooded foothills. Any deck suggestions? I got tired of naya burn because it's all aggro I want something that would make me use my find to the furthest. I am still soul searching with my soulmate deck i hope i find it soon.
Proxy decks and test them out, or use something like Cockatrice. If you have no inclination as to what types of decks you like there's no way we can help you.
Hey all, So I really want to play a modern deck that is at least semi competitive and would be kind of similar to the GW aggro deck of RTR Theros days.
I don't know if something like this exists, but it doesn't have to be tier 1 just something that would give me a fighting chance and take me back to the good ol' days.
From what I remember, that was like just a standard aggressive deck. Play on-curve creatures that are all individually decent, not particularly playing into synergy. I'd recommend looking into Eldrazi. It's basically a deck that plays powerful creatures a bit above the curve, having most of them be individually powerful.
Anyone have an idea for a modern deck that's not aggro that I could build for $350 more or less, preferably under? Looking to be able to play fnm at a pretty competitive level.I really don't mind any of the colors tbh.
It really depends how competitive you want to be. Modern isn't a cheap format, and $350 is about Standard deck prices. You might have to sacrifice in some aspect to get what you want (i.e. increase price, agree to play any deck, including aggro, or get something that's not really that competitive). As it stands, I don't have any recommendations for you.
I'm looking for a nice deck to play in Modern and I found two that I liked.
These decks are Abzan Company and Kiki Chord. Both are similar but very different.
I want to play a deck with many answers to react to my opponent strategy and I think that Kiki chord is better on this, but I have the sensation that Abzan Company is better deck.
Can you recommend me any one of these two?
I'd say Abzan company is for sure the better deck but Kiki Chord can be tuned to answer different things and is more flexible

Thanks for the replies!! I went with Junk. It's cheaper than jund from the cards I have and for a few dollars I complete it en route to jund if I decide that's where I want to go. I figured since most of the consistent decks at my shop are the midrange/control ones, a midrange deck that can out-midrange other midrange seemed good. Plus, I don't think I've cast lingering souls once at the shop that I didn't win soon after. A friend suggested a flayer/rhino/painful truths version, which seems sweet.
I've been playing stompy for about a year, to see if I liked the format without a big investment. Now that I know I like the format, I would like to buy a better deck that suits my play playstyle better.
What I'm looking for in the deck:
-not super aggressive nor super controlling, I like middle grounds, tempo and midrange (the more interactive, the better)
-t2 or better and resilient to meta changes, my main concern is getting a better deck that will last a long time.
-not jund nor abzan, they are out of my budgrt

I have both elves and merfolk. Elves are super aggressive and not very interactive at all. Merfolk are still on the aggressive side, and also on the lower end of interactivity (albeit better than many decks). They're both good decks and resilient to meta changes and budget friendly.
How about Grixis, starting with Delver? Much like Jund and Abzan, Grixis colours can always rely on getting a new good card every two or three new sets (opposed to Merfolk or Elves; who did get Harbinger of Tides and Shaman of the Pack, but that's much rarer).

well, grixis is good and interactive (and with collective brutality the burn MU is not that bad XD)

Hello Guys,
I played Valakut with all it's varients for over 10 months now, and i think it's time to play another Deck. I own Bogles, Titanshift and RG Breach. What deck can you suggest? I like to play Combo Decks.
if you like combo deck, ad nauseam is the best "spell combo" deck, and all in combo!
for "creature combo", infect i believe (or death shadow combo).
i would stay away from graveyard combo (like grishoalbrand) because dredge add too much hate.
Scapeshift is a control deck with a combo finish.
