Hey guys, I kinda dropped out of modern when pod was banned (i was in love with kiki pod, rip).
Currently I still have all my old kiki pod pieces (chords, restoration angels, all of the singleton toolkit pieces). I also have all the pieces to build infect (any version). I also have all the pieces to build jund (goyf, LoTV, etc). I also have some solid blue staples like 4x snapcaster, ancestral visions, clique, glen elandra, remands etc.
What is well positioned right now that I can piece together with this stuff? If i'm missing a few pieces of any deck I don't mind investing.
Thanks so mich to any who take the time to read this and help me brainstorm :]
I think any of these decks - Jund, Jeskai Nahiri, Abzan Company, Kiki Chord, any of these can be very viable. I personally would go with Jund for competitiveness out of those. Then again, some people would rather be doing proactive things than defensive things - that would steer you toward Infect, Burn, Suicide Zoo, or Affinity.
I should clarify that the reason I brought up Abzan Company and Kiki Chord is because they are the closest to old Pod decks in my opinion.

Just piloted UR delver to an astounding 1-4-1 finish at my last PPTQ, so I'm looking to switch it up. Here is what I am considering:
1) Temur Midrange - something along these lines, with some tweaks to the creature package and no ancestral visions. Probably would play hooting mandrills + thought scour.
http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=12894&d=274986&f=MO
2) Esper Midrange - Maybe something with Geist of Saint Traft or Monastery Mentor. It would be a bit of a brew but I'm envisioning something along the lines of a UWr Geist shell but cut red for black for lingering souls, zealous persecution, and hand disruption.
I would also consider UWr geist, but I don't have colonnades or restoration angels. Also one of my buddies plays jeskai decks all the time and I can only tolerate the mirror match so many times.

Any thoughts?
if you dont have tarmo dont play temur, if budget is a thing for you then stay away from any deck that need tarmo (jund/junk, etc).
Both Esper and jeskai need colonnades IMHO, now to me UWr= Geist while UWb = Mentor. The reach of R is needed for the first, while the spells (kill/discard/etc) are needed for the last one.
right when mentor was out, a somewhat good esper deck with tasigur, cantrips, mentor and other thing was a thing in dailies in MTGO, maybe check that and update the deck.
Hey, I'm building burn, and I'm wondering whether or not to go Mardu or Naya. Which is cheaper to build into, whether or not I should consider Game Trail or Foreboding Ruins as budget replacements for shocks, and which one is just generally considered better in an unknown meta.

I mean, R/W I have quite a few pieces for, with more coming. I'm wanting to upgrade slowly from mono red to boros to Naya I guess. My budget is middling right now.

Been a while since I've posted to these forums. I have been in a predicament on whether or not to play Abzan Company or Collected Company Elves. Note I have both decks, so price and car availability is not an issue.
- 1st, I love Elves, heaps of mana, amass an army fast, tribal synergy and swing in with powerful tramplers, but I am always sad for their weakness to board wipes.
- Abzan Company I love for the 3-color, creatures that don't die easy, and Abzan lore of togetherness behind them, but I feel cheap when I always win with one of the combos. -
I love they both have a toolbox feature, so I am basically deciding whether I want a weakness to board wipes, or weakness to graveyard hate and feeling cheap for comboing. Is that right? Out of the two decks, which would be better? From my testing in my local meta, they both have a similar win rate.

There's a lot of graveyard hate roaming around atm. So I would recommend elves even thought Im convinced that company is the better deck. Grafdiggers cage is amazing right now it shuts down jeskai nahiri, dredge also relic is really good atm.
Hey and thanks in advance for the help. I want a new deck to play exclusively on MTGO (Friendly league).
i'm tired of my Ad Nauseam deck^^
I have a budget of 200~250 Tix/$.
I spotted 3 decks :
1.Skred Red
2.Colorless Eldrazi Tron
3.Soul Sisters
which is best placed in the current meta ? I think red Skred, Lot of removals and Blood moon ?

skred red is a bad blood moon deck, any other blood moon deck is better. RG ponza being my favorite
Soul sister is good in a really aggro fast meta like mtgo, i dont like the deck, but in that meta is good
colorless eldrazi to me is the best option, is solid and eldrazi are still a thing.
I am having a really hard time finding a combo deck that I enjoy playing. I currently have infect done, I have also had R/G tron and R/G scapeshift I did not enjoy tron and I sold my scapeshifts when they jumped in price.
I enjoy combo the most then Control and aggro the least.
I am mainly going to play fnm with the occasional open or gp when they are close enough.
I would like the deck to be as competitive as possible.
I would like to not go higher than 1500 so no Jund.
The title says it... Im pretty new in the game and i want to buy a budget deck cause i dont want to spend tons of money (my limit is about 30 dolars), i saw a few decks on internet that i liked and id be glad if you guys can tell me wich one is better or which one is more competitive.
Some thoughts: I live in a medium town, here are about 14 or 15 people who plays magic (4 o 5 are friends of mine) and time to time they make tournaments and told me that they play with modern format. Some of these guys spend tons of money and have expensive decks so i need one who can at least challange them.
Basically i want it to have these 3 things:
-Not easy to counter, or at least dont have a hard counter (if this guys realice that i only play with 1 deck and that deck is easy to counter i will have a tough time against them)
-Able to challange expensive decks (i know the chances wont be in my favor but at least have a chance)
-Able to be used in two head giant (time to time they play that kind of game so if can be usefull there too, wonderfull)
All this budgets are < to 30 dolars, so if you suggest me another thats is near the price i`ll gladly hear that.
This are the decks (all of them came of internet i didnt make even one of them). I enjoy more with white or black colors, and saw some cheap red “burn” decks but i just dont enjoy like that style of play.

Also a friend offered me a black infect deck he doesnt use for that money, it use zombies but i cant show it to you simply cause i dont have it here.
Im open to any suggest so feel free to tell me what you think, even if you will say the five decks are bad.
I'm looking for a control deck for FNM. I currently play Skred Red and love it but eventually people will hate out Blood Moon. I want something fun to play that doesn't break the bank but can also hang with the tier one decks, namely Jund. My general rule of thumb is avoiding cards priced at $50 or more a piece. Any suggestions?
EDIT: I'm also looking into Merfolk and Allies, because I love synergistic aggro. The problem is there is so much Jund that Allies is next to unplayable and Merfolk is fun but I certainly couldn't play it all the time.
I'm just kind of curious and in the mood to brew a bit; what are the most viable deck archetypes in straight UW? Are there any decks that could viably utilize Favorable Winds?

I'm sure you could throw it into spirits, but if you want to brew there's gotta be a UW or UB aggro/tempo fliers strategy that could use an anthem.

I think Merfolk would be a decent choice, but the matchup vs. Jund after SB is pretty tough. IMO, the matchup goes from 55/45 to 45/55, depending on the SB of course.

No, UW Flash and UW Emeria Control are probably the "best" UW decks. There is a UW Spirit deck that Sam Pardee and Caleb Durward tried on CFB, but I didn't watch so I don't know if something's there. Spell Queller is a strong card.
