Sultai Charm seems really good (both in design and in viability) and a solid reason to go with BUG colors for a control deck. Fortunately, the power level is just low enough that it doesn't make Esper Charm obsolete.
LOL lantern you are just dancing in your chair right now...there are going to be sooo many stupid dual and tricolor cards for tribal zoo lol. I really dont know how to feel honestly...I mean when I see good cards for UWR in modern my wallet is going to cry (Im doing pretty well with 3 arid mesa 3 scalding tarn as my only fetches, but I might go 2 Mesa 3 Tarn 2 Strand). People are going nuts in faeries about the ability to splash a third color and I am just like "Polluted Delta...consistent basic fetches so I don't die to blood moon"

Oh I'm happy for zoo for a much bigger reason than being able to test Domain Zoo and evening my matchups against blood moon.
I want cruel control and esper to flourish. I want them played like they never have been before. I want them to soar like giant eagles summoned by a wizard, who also is a mechanic, and straps lasers to their heads so they can burn away all the combo decks we see in modern right now.
Because then I will destroy them with zoo. I will laugh at my balanced meta game, where I don't need to see so much freakin' combo, and see more control and tempo.
And thats the real reason I'm happy. Because of this zoo got better, but it aint MY fetches I'm cheering for.

Actually, I'd be fine with just seeing Laser Wizard Eagles.
Well I will be on the opposite end of that spectrum looking at how to beat zoo with faeries again after all these years lol, because my deck definitely has an edge against combo and control...but days at the zoo are stress (I have a secret fascination with etching in tight wins against uphill battles I probably shouldnt win).
(btw, this just makes me miss blood zoo from old extended...cascade into blood moon and watch your opponent just turn their face up at their manabase)

Yes. In Legacy, one of the most effective ways to blank a Wasteland is just to not crack the fetch. Granted, Brainstorm also helps reward this style of play, but it is effective for the simple reason for that no one wants to waste a fetch.
Well shesh. Its just come to light there is at least 19 nonbasic lands in this set. Probably 20, as our numbers for bloodstained is 239/260, and Wooded Foothills 249/269. 20 basic lands after fits.
Arid Mesa comes before bloodstain, meaning it could be 238/260, and that means we could be seeing 5 On fetches, 5 tri lands, 5 common color fixing (for limited) and then maybe 5 Zen Fetches?
Could be just speculation, but people have noted that apperently they arent likely going to print just a half of cycle in the block because apparently they want full color fixing in block avalable. So maybe well see all fetches printed.
First up: allied fetches ftw. Though the only deck I play which it affects is Ad Nauseam, but still, they're better than Tarn/Rainforest/Flats there. You usually want a blue fetch so that you can cast a T1 cantrip, but later you might need black/white for Ad Nauseam/Grace/Unlife.
Now with regards to the non-land cards:
Herald of Anafenza: When I see this, I think of how many 1-drop white creatures there are in Modern that look playable. Champion of the Parish, Dryad Militant, Soldier of the Pantheon... The nice thing about Herald is that it acts as a mana sink for the late game; you can pump him late in the game so you don't just get walled by blockers (you even get a token out of it), but it's very slow. All in all, Herald's main flaw is that it only has 1 power, not 2, making it unsuited for aggressive decks (which are the kinds that you'd play 1-drops in).
Sarkhan: 5 mana is a tough sell. I think Thundermaw Hellkite is better.
Crackling Doom: Way too many colors, too low payoff. This card reminds me of countless Limited fodder, which are usually created like this: "let's take a spell that could pass for constructed playable. We'll add some small effect onto it and increase the mana cost. Done." Think Hideous End vs Doom Blade, Lightning Strike vs Bolt of Keranos, etc.
Sultai Charm: again, too many colors. The only 3-color charm that sees play in Modern is Jund's, and that's because it's basically two different kinds of SB hate in one, so you save space. Sultai Charm is too general; it's worse than Decay or Pulse (or Putrefy, lol).
Temur Ascendancy: I've played enough combo to know that this is unplayable; this kind of effect that says "whenever you do X, I'll give you a reward" should cost 2 or less. E.g. Pyromancer Ascension, Soul sisters. 2 is the sweet spot; you cast the engine on T2, cast a bunch of spells to build up the engine on T3, then combo off on T4. T3 engine is too slow.
My guess. Its like shocks in standard, only theres less supply, same demand. REALLY depends on redemptions and drafting, more than box cracking. 15 if EVERYTHING goes right. Thats my guess.
You're an optimist!
Just wait and you will see for how much they will go. Cards that can be used across all formats including standard? Yeah, $15. I think if you swap the numbers you might be right.
The amount of people jumping on those will probably beat everything previously seen. I can only imagine more demand if they printed again the oyf as a rare in a standard set.

I am hoping for the other 5 fetchlands and a cycle of morph lands that produce colored mana but enter the battlefield tapped when played as lands.

well the math is simple, a box costs about 89.99 on scg, assume you avg 3-4 fetches per box, if it goes over 20 each then y would i bother to buy it, just open boxes.

How is Sultai Charm bad? While there is no BUG deck currently in Modern, if BUG gets strong enough to be played in Modern then this would be played in it. It is an answer to almost every card in the format other than planeswalkers and it can also be a loot-spell if necessary. I would certainly say that it is better than Maelstrom Pulse (instant speed is better than hitting planeswalkers and multicolored creatures, looting is better than killing tokens). It just has the problem of being BUG-colored, but if BuG Midrange became a thing again or if BUG Faeries became popular, it would see play.
yeah fetchlands reprint! now people playing shard or allied colors decks will stop complaining that their deck are not tier 1 because of the lack of allied fetches and realize that, simply, their decks are not good

there was a balance in modern, because enemy colours had zendikar's fetches, and allied colours had some special lands like worldwake's manlands and mirrodin's fast land. now this balance is broken.
and don't forget the money
I agree, decks will start getting greedier with their colours and there isn't much land hate out in modern atm to balance out the situation.

I don't think so. Greed comes at a steep cost in life, and most 3 color decks all ready border on the edge of the risk:reward, especially considering the ubiquity of Lightning Bolt and Snapcaster in the format. If people do I could see a resurgence of aggro decks besides affinity. The only thing this will change is better Grixis and Esper mana-base and perhaps make tribal zoo a little better. In other words, this helps those control decks the most. It also helps URw since the base of the deck is U, and swapping Arids for Flooded Strands is really good.

Because Lingering Souls / Spectral Procession exists, Sarkhan just gets Chumped. All things said and done it's probably a meta call.
