I just brought 3 this week. They should be delivered today. The first one I trade some CFV cards for. Needless to say those cards are worthless now. And I wouldn't be mad if wizards reprinted it either.
traded away a 2 morphlings and 2 ravnica sacred foundry ans a few other cheap rares. won the other play set over several grand prix trials and ptqs as they were part of prize support

Thanks for all the responses! I'm trying to think about just how feasible it is to put together a playset over the next year or so.
If it is very important to the shell you want to run (BGwhatever) I would just bite the bullet and start getting them as you can. Once you have them out of the way, the rest of the deck will almost feel 'budget'. Except Bobs seem to keep creeping up...
Traded my 1998 Honda Civic with ~150,000 miles on it for a play set recently. Kelly blue book priced it at sub $800 so I think I got a decent deal (the car was in pretty rough condition).
Bought them on ebay the guy misspelled the card as "Tarmogiyf" so only one other person had a bid on them. I won a 4x set for 65 when that's how much it was for a single one.
Edit: Just looked up how much a single one goes for. Holy crap that's dual land money right there.

If this is true, it is one of my new favorite things.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Opened foil MM Tarmo, traded for 4 Prior to that traded in a whole bunch of random cards... playset goblin piledrivers... US explorations and 3 LEDs which i had to forcefully extract from the mouth of my cat. So has 4 FS and 4 MM ones
I owned goyfs before Modern and before the price spike. I just barely missed them in a hiatus period I took from Future Sight's release until Alara Reborn, but had I not gotten them when I did and never sold them I would probably not have gotten back into modern at all...
When Zendikar came out I was buying collections every weekend, selling bulk to stores or players and using everything else for trade fodder. The goyf either came from a trade on here, or it was among all of those early collections I was buying and selling and one of the cards I picked for keeps because my other aim was to just play eternal formats given a lot of the cards I would get weren't even standard legal but contained a lot of legacy and (now modern) commons/uncommons.
The next one I got out of a dollar rare box at some game store in literally the middle of nowhere when visiting family, probably around the same time period. I had sold a lot of yugioh cards to them (the store wasn't a huge magic store but did insane returns on yugioh back then) and found it when going through their stock. $1 of my trade-in was never more awesome.
At one particular store, I won enough store credit after a month to get my third.
My last one was bought either at a PTQ or SCG open after trading in a bunch of bulk and knowing I was needing it for upcoming Legacy events. The least interesting story of the 4 but it was fulfilling to have my set and in retrospect I spent less to get all 4 than a single one costs now.
Had some during FS, traded them off for things I don't remember, never really felt like acquiring more. Playing the G/x deck that doesn't care about Goyf in Modern, zero regrets.
Picked up my first set in 2012 before GP Columbus for $75-$85 on EBay. Opened a foil MM Goyf I promptly sold to Channel Fireball for nearly $400 store credit to finish my revised duel lands. Traded away en extra set of Blue Zen Fetches at GP Richmond to pick up a MM set of Goyfs. Just recently sold my Future Sight set for $175 each used the money to build GR Tron and a few other Modern staples.

My wife (GF at the time) gave me a playset at our first xmas together three + years ago
I love my wife.
lol this ones my favorite.
I remember cringing when i bought 4 for $125 on ebay, as it was the most id spent on a playset of anything
even then, i only bought beat up duals for 12 each haha
I got my 2nd set january 2014, when they were a little over 100 each
I won high ticket items on ebay for low amounts
IE full art doran (worth ~225?) for 150
with a bunch of these type of cards/winnings on ebay i took 'em to a vendors at a GP, and traded them for goyfs.
(i bet you could do the same type of thing w/ puca trade)
Got my tax return just after MM was printed. Bought two and two boxes. Ended up trading the unopened boxes for 2 more Goyf and my Fetch base for The Rock. In hindsight, with the way prices went I made a bad trade financially, but since I have played Gofy in each format I play, money be dammed I got what I paid for and have enjoyed them ever since.
I think, Gofy, alongside Liliana, might be the most fun I have had with this game since Onslaught.
Definitely the best one!

Maybe one day wizards will reprint him in standard, when a decent amount of GY hate exists.
